CAn I mix .cda and .wav files when I burn CD?

I am looking for software to burn Audio CD that will let me mix sources. I would like to add .cda tracks from an audio CD in its drive, plus .wav files on the harddrive, to the burn layout.
Know what software can handle that? Thanks.

Re: CAn I mix .cda and .wav files when I burn CD?

Pretty sure that CDA files are only CDA files when they are on the CD, when ripped to computer they become WAV or AIFF or whatever you rip/encode them to. I suggest you rip the tracks from the CDs that you want and add them to your existing collection of WAV files. Nero is a good burning program and so is TuneSpark.

**** Yeah I know that way, but the trouble is I must rip the entire CD which takes realtime (using Audiograbber). I want to only edit one or two tracks, then insert these modified traks into a new layout to make a new CD.
When you copy a CD, there is no ripping to wav or aiff. So I was hoping there is some burn proggie that can copy tracks from a CD directly, then also mix in some wavs.

drum tracks

Help, I am currently learning blues guitar. Some background drums would be nice. Any programs out there that can just play in the background? Sort of like a keyborad synth background drum beats.

VISION MUSIC

Go to www.visionmusic.com and download they're MIDI Accompaniment files. They are free and can be played by the Windows Media Player

Re: drum tracks

If you just need a simple rhythm track, try Hammerhead. For something a little more complete, you can't go past FruityLoops.

Guitar Tracks - How do I use the tracks.

I don't know anything about recording on tracks so here is
the question. I'm using a downloaded version of Guitar Tracks
and I will be using it for recording my practice.

First I record my chords on track 1 then I also record the
melody right on top of the chords on the same track.
This is an option I think called "sound on sound" for
recording. It sounds good but then I was thinking
that maybe I should be recording my chords on track 1
and then the melody on track 2.

What is the best way to use this software for this purpose?

I hope I was clear.

I have "just!crap" burner HELP!!!

I bought this PC with the just!burn program already installed I recently tried to burn a CD and cannot finalize it. It just doesn't give the final option. I have followed the instructions completely. I went to the suggested web-site for assistance and it is written in another language... I am quite livid at the moment. Any advice anyone??? Compac is on my S--- list for now.

Re: I have "just!crap" burner HELP!!!

If its not doing what you want then give it the arse and get some decent burning software like CDMASTER or tunespark or any like what is on this site; check the software charts here for good burning downloads.

Converting real audio files (.rmx) to cd audio (.cda)

I would like to copy audio files on my pc that I obtained using real jukebox to cd, so that I can listen to it on my cd player.

Re: Converting real audio files (.rmx) to cd audio (.cda)

You'll have to convert the RMX to WAV first. There are a number of programs out there to do this. Total Recorder is one. Once you've got the WAVs, a program like Nero will handle the burning for you.

Re: Converting real audio files (.rmx) to cd audio (.cda)

I had problem converting .ram files into cd audio file. I used rawavrecorder to convert .ram to .wav and the file was succesfully burned to my cdrw disc. But, unfortunately, when i played the disc on the cd player, it won't work..do you have any suggestion???

Notator SL midi to PC?

Hi,

Thanks for reading...

I've got a bunch of Atari midi files that I need to get translated
to PC midi format and I don't have an Atari any more :(

Does anyone know of any utilites that would read Atari disks on a PC
or maybe a way of dumping midi files straight to the PC if I can get
an Atari?

Cheers,

Rich

1 finger 2 midi?

I have a couple of old keyboards by Casio that let you enter all the notes of a piece, deleting and editing as required, then using a one-(or two-)finger playback key to get the timing right while making a recording. Is there similar software for MIDI; i.e. take an existing MIDI file with notes correct and play them back with correct timing into a new file? I have seen only one such software for PC, Finger Conductor, but couldn't get it to work with my MIDI setup. If this worked with ABC or other simple notation file format, that would be great too. Thanks in advance. /glen

Re: recording education

Well, depending on your sound card, it can be either more difficult or more easy. If you want to record straight into raw wave form, you need to connect the in/out's of your keyboard (if it has the right kind, or if you have the right adapter), and record it into some sort of wave editing software. I enjoy using CoolEdit Pro the most, but some people like SoundForge or others. You should look at the manual for your soundcard and keyboard to get an idea of what you can do, first. Also, you could just download some softsynths from this site and do your notation from there, then exporting the results into wave form for mixing (unless you like the whole midi mixing thing).
Anyway, good luck. Hope you figure it out.

Cubase to CDA, its either wav or midi not both?

Hi all, hope some one can help,
After the usual bout of frustration and nagging the people who ahve been so nice to help me so far , Ive managed to get a song together in Cubase 3.?..anyway when I export the mixdown track as Audio, I only get the .wav parts of the song and not the midi bits...then when I use the mixer to record "what you hear" it wont playback the .wav files and only the midi even though I've checked that none of the volumes are muted in both playback and record volume options>?
Its a bit of a catch...Im exporting the file at 16 bits, 44100khz, mono as an PCM /uncompressed wav file...hope this makes sense to somebody..
thanks for any help in advance

: :Why don't you mute the audio tracks in Cubase, then open an audio track for Recording, and use that to record all the midi tracks as audio. You may need to experiment to get the level and mix right. Then you will have the entire piece as audio, ready to burn to cd.

is it possible to copy flash animations from web pages.

Hello
Is it possible to copy flash animations from a web page if so how.
Thanks

Re: is it possible to copy flash animations from web pages.

I can only speak for the Mac users but the Flash animations are often kept in the cache depending on the settings. I only figured out by chance that most if not all Quicktime files are kept in the system cache and if you do a search (Mac) for 'cache' and look for a file with the same file size as the download, that will be it...!

On the flash side of things, I look in the same place as that's where the often reside...

Good luck

I need software on editing songs

Anyone know any software that edits songs by censoring cuss words? I need help on taking out cuss words from songs...like they do on radios when they play songs, they somehow censor cuss words...pls help thanks

Re: I need software on editing songs

: Anyone know any software that edits songs like if the song is too long make it short and if requires add another song i mean continious play after one song.

Re: I need software on editing songs

No chance of that unless you just want to cut segments out of a song. And then your song would sound like it's got a piece missing out of it. The result is pretty awful and people will only start singing the words you've edited out. That's what my friend's little brother does.

Anyway, the best thing is to buy versions of the songs that have had the cuss words professionally edited out.

To LISA: Re: How do I save Streaming Video from Real Player Plus

Thanks Lisa,

I saw in another post you mention that but how would I use VirtualDub 1.4d to do that?

Thanks

.....

There used to be a PC program called Streambox ripper although I think it might have been closed down as it wasn't offically accepted due to the fact that you can keep all the stuff you stream. I used Quicktime to stream as much as possible as it's easy to 'save' streams (if they allow you that is!!). Some things that realplayer will want to stream can be used to boot Quicktime depending on your MIME settings in your Browser.

RealPlayer aren't the nicest company on the web and many people including myself have boycotted them where possible

Copying a Cassette to CD

Can someone email me on how to connect a cassette player to your computer in order to burn a CD copy of the cassette?

I'm just getting started burning CDs and have a bunch of cassette I'd like to copy to CDs.

Thanks in advance

Re: Copying a Cassette to CD

Your local electronics store will help you out with the correct cable to connect your stereo or tape deck to your computer's LineIn.. That will let you record your tape to WAV format which can be burned to CD. There are quite a few great recording programs on this site that record tape to WAV, including AIPL Singulator which splits each song on the taoe into a different WAV file automatically.. check out out Audio Recording software section..

Digital Performer or Pro Tool LE

I'm at the crossroads. I've gone back and fortth between Digital Performer and Pro Tools. Is there a real difference? And what do you all prefer?

Re: Digital Performer or Pro Tool LE

: I'm at the crossroads. I've gone back and fortth between Digital Performer and Pro Tools. Is there a real difference? And what do you all prefer?

I prefer both...both are important for differents things, also you can talk about cubase vst, emagic logic audio (and cakewalk pro on windows)

Re: Digital Performer or Pro Tool LE

: I'm at the crossroads. I've gone back and fortth between Digital Performer and Pro Tools. Is there a real difference? And what do you all prefer?

They're both really similar. I've used both a lot and really haven't found enough of a difference to suggest one more than the other.

I do prefer Digital Performer for midi work. I think their midi interface is a little better designed.

They're both great in the audio department.

Re: Digital Performer or Pro Tool LE

After seeing the new version of Digital Performer, I've changed my mind... sort of.

If all you want to do is record, mix, master, and export, either program will do just fine.
What impressed me most about the new DP is all the little features they have added that allow a lot of freedom on drum tracks and loop-based recording.

If you know anyone who's got it, check it out!
