I am a D.J. I like to make nonstop mixes of my records.
I would like to know how to mark tracks on a 70 min. wave file before i burn it.

you have to take each song in the mix where youd like a new track number and make it its own file.
Instead of 1 big file , you will have a file for each song on the mix. Marking the songs cant be done is sound forge.
Then just like you would burn a regular cd, you would do same. Depending on your cd burning software, one of the last advanced options are "close disc, leave disc open...and so on. You want to select "disc-at-once" This eliminates the 2 second gap inbetween songs. This should work seeing as i just learned and did this the other day. if there is another way ,let me know.

Hi. First you'll need to convert the MP3 to a Wav file ... www.recycler.com ... then you need a Wave editor (eg. Cool Edit, Soundforge ... perhaps one free on this site) .. select the portion you want (ie. the chorus) and save the selection as a Wav file. Software to convert this Wav to MP3 ... perhaps your wave editor does this .. if not, try n-Track studio .. www.fasoft.com ... and Bob's your Auntie's live in lover ...

Need Help With Hooking Stereo And Computer

Alright i know i've seen this some where but I never wrote it down and now that i want to do it i can't remeber...what i actually want to know is how to split the 2 channels..i know that you need and RCA cable to audio plugs to hook it up into your mixer or stereo..but what i would like to know..is how to i have it so that i have one channel going to an output and have the other side going out into say headphones..so i could cue songs..i'm using the program AtomixMP3 and it makes it soo easy..but what i'd like to do to make my mixes better is beable to hear what is playing on the other channel and cue it in when i cross fade..if this makes any sense and you know what to do..PLEASE HELP !!! :)

cdr is hp 9100 series and is compatible.
have tried cdrwin and fireburner(both registered ver)
and used step by step instructions whiuch incorparte the use of rawcdg2b and mmwav.
have got the music but no words.
have tried using different brands cdr.
iss this an ME problem? can I fix it? thanks

I've finally figured out how to transfer tracks from cd to my hard drive, but now can't pull them up to the cd creator to make a mixed cd. tried to convert them using winamp and am not able.

Keyboard-PC MIDI connection

I have: keyboard with MIDI input/output, SBLive!Value,
a cable between these units, Win2k. I`d like to connect
the keyboard to the PC, and to record and process
voice-by-voice the music played on the keyboard.
Have you an idea, which software can realize it?

try massiva(freeware), it uses audio, midi and soundfonts which you can load into your soundblaster card(this software has some pretty good tutorials on the website.
try quartz audio master freeware, same as above, don't know if it plays back soundfonts.

I am an industrial rock muscician. I tend to do industrial, experimental, and just plain wierd stuff. I will be releasing a CD soon.

I've been making hip-hop with e-jay for a while, do most people use something like that? I'm not sure what people use for their music as there seems to be a lot of technical questions about specific things! What do you use?

well... I'm in an industrail/ rock/ metal/ pop/ unconventional/ pink floydish/ postwave band ... if that narrows it down. Have a CD out soon too. As, for the questions on what gearto use... I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, with LOADS of plugins, Cubase VST 5/32, Logic Platinum, Wavelab, Soundforge, rebirth, Hammerhead ( don't we all??), Native Instruments Pro 52, Soundforum , The Tassman, Rebirth RB 338 2, PC Drummer, Leaf Drums, Revolve, SAW Pro, Sampituse 2496, Pro Tools FREE (sucks) , Orangator, T Racks, Power Tracks, Virtual Sampler, Giga Sampler, and ACID. I would recommend all these programs except PT FREE ( not worth the disk space). They each have a purpose better suited, and for some one wanting to do hip hop, I'd look into Rebirth particularly and maybe cakewalk.

I use wavelablite, soundforge xp, cubasis vst, tons of free plug-ins,
ddclip pro, tuareg w/moonfish, hammerhead, graphic eq pro,
amen, hog, wavGlue, bpm midi kalkulator, exact audio copy,
wavBrowser, cd wave, and now proTools free.

i really only use about 4 programs the most.
basically, tuareg, cubasis, wavelab, and soundforge xp.

there are other programs, but i usually only use
what i need. I have a midiman 2496 full duplex card and a midiman
flying calf 24 bit ad converter. i also use a midiman multimixer 6.
my mixer is the tinyest and quietest and simplest mixer. i don't use any external midi.
i also have a behringer dj mixer, and a Crown PZM mic which is totally accurate.
i burn cds with an internal 8x write, 20x read yamaha cd-r drive.

most of my sound material comes from recordings of
my music before i had a computer, when i used hardware synths
and processors. i believe that for many styles of music,
hardware is always better than software.

i like to make music that is unlike anything i
have ever heard, but which is familiar enough to
enjoy to listen to. eventually i want to compose
only using recorded acoustic instruments, but with
an electro sensibility.

cequadrat is not working right

The cd will burn. It will play on my computer and my portable cd player, but will not play in my Sony cd player in the car. Why?

: When I click on my Cequadrat icon the opening page will open up. But when I click on the jaudio it will tell me that it is an illegal operation and will be shut down. And when I click on the part where it says details it will tell me "caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL at 0167:78010b88". I have know idea what can fix this problem accept quick restore my computer but i dont want to do that cause ill lose files that i dont want to lose. If any one can help me it would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Can't figure it out really, it will play in my friends cars sometimes. Sometimes I think its the software, sometimes I think its the disk themselves. However, I have better luck with Siren Jukebox, and with higher name CDRs.

message. has anyone had this problem? or cures?
