Looking for software
Hi does anyone know where i can get a copy of Song Writer v2.01 TIA
advise needed to get massiva working
I recently downloaded massiva onto my computer. When I try to run it, it tells me that a file called dsound.dll is missing. Where can I get this file? What is it for? Is it somthing to do with running my soundcard? Any help with this would be helpfull.

Problems writing, audio cd and problems with choice of audio sam
I am having Problems, cutting audio disks on my pc, i am using nero 5.0.4.4 and i have just updated my cdrw firmware, i am trying to make cds, from .wav and .mp3 files on my hard drive, nero tell me that i cant remove the 2 second gap in between audio tracks, but in the documentation it says it is possible and i hav followed the instructions to the letter, but to no avail, i have a traxdata cdrw, please could anyone tell me how i can solve this problem, and also when i am making my music, e.g trance, dance etc. i cant find anysoftware that has samples or a way to modify samples enough to get the sounds i want, i want rich, warm heavy bass lines, and echoed high lines but i cant find any software that can cover this, what can anybody recommend?
i would appreciate any help i can get

How to get started
I am running a Pentium 111 processor with 128mb ram and 30GB hard drive. I have a choice of 2 Midi instruments to record music from. What I am trying to do is record some music for my church to CD. Clever clogs here thought it would not be too difficult. Dream on! Having made various attempts in recent months using various software, all sounds absolutely
dreadful and I cringe. The sound is muddy and totally unacceptable to record, (even if I knew how to carry out that operation). Is there anyone out there who can give me some guidance to get me started or is this whole recording on a computer a big con! I am just about ready to forget the whole idea, but I have spent many hours and not a little money to get even this far and I don't like giving up!
Midi Keyboards Yamaha PSR 6000 ( anyone any tips with this instrument? Can't find any info via Yamaha, every other keyboard but this one)
Korg i4S Interactive work station ( this will at least allow you to create a Standard Midi File.
Yamaha seems not to have that facility.

the magic word is 'hotline'. it's a 50 meg file so it's a huge download which means it doesn't spread too readily. the server 'dorians frequency' has this file. go to www.hlsearch.com and search for files and servers. good luck. oh, and if you've got it, please tell me - I havn't yet.

recycle exports to soundfont, but for a freeware solution you could record your sample to wave then use vienna, which you can find on this site the, to convert to a soundfont.

i've a cd with music tools at home. behind the most of the tools stands the name radium.
Is radium a programm and the other progs are plugins???
And if it is a programm, where can i get it???
Or means radium anything other.

sounds like you need some Acid, my son ... dead easy - just get some loops http://www.samplenet.co.uk and paint them in where you need them ... to make your own drum loops, try FruityLoops .. with the Demo version you can make a loop then export to a Wav file which you can then stick in Acid ... then you can record your own audio on top ... you can export this whole audio cacophony to seperate wave files for bunging into a studio ... for a quick and easy Audio/MIDI studio, download (shareware) n-Track studio (featured on Computer Music magazine cover disk) .. http://www.n-track.com/download.shtm .. if you like it, do the guy a good turn and register ... Go to it!
HOW TO DO A BETTER WEB SEARCH
Open up the preferences setting menu in your web browser.
If you aren't using Internet Explorer, your web browser
might still be affected by settings in Internet Explorer, because
many browsers "borrow" it's programming. So listen up.
Go to the section which allows you to specify which
languages to use on the web. Basically, select a whole
bunch of countries from around the world. Try to get
a good variety of nationalities that are geographically
far apart, or at least culturally very different.
be sure to always include some African, Asian, Latin American, and
Malaysian countries. Don't forget Australia or the Mideast.
Be sure to include real familiar countries like Germany
and France and Sweden. Even include languages like Japanese
and Korean.
WHAT's the WHOLE POINT OF THIS ?
Well, your web browsers language settings will affect
how much of the WORLD WIDE WEB actually gets searched
when you go to ANY web site. If you allow the browser
to display more languages, then the remote servers will
provide you with more information from other countries.
Since most of the web is ultimately displayed with at
least some English, you'll get much better search
results. Even the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean pages
will usually have English links, even if all of the text
is in Kanji. Many good programs can be found this way.
Sometimes I have found programs in other countries that were
made in the U.S.A, but are no longer found on American web sites.
Other times, I have found German-made programs for
English, German, and French speakers, which work
really well for us English speaking Americans.
Some of the best programmers in the world do'nt really
even speak English. They can program in English, but
the don't necessarily speak or write it that well.
Don't let that fool you.
Help, Windows 98 punts on .cda files!
Windows CD player, Windows Media Player cannot read my .cda (standard cd audio) format cds. Says it can't understand the format, that the recording must have been done with unsupported codec. The audio cd's are recognized by my other computer running the same OS. Can anyone help? Please.

MP32WAV Freeware
I have Windows ME. Is the MP32Wav software compatible?
Also, I have tried to use the freeware to convert a file on my hard drive that downloaded as .m3u instead of mp3. Can't get the browse to show me the file. What should i do? Please respond.

MP3 2 WAVE SUCKS!!!
there is a much easier and faster way to convert .mp3 to .wav . A lot of people don't know about this but you can convert Mp3's to wav using WINAMP!(if you don't have it download it, it's free) Well this is how.
1. Open the winamp 2. In the top left corner there is a little icon (parabolla), left click on it. 3. scroll down to options than move over to preferences and click. This will open a window "Winamp Preferences" 4. On a left hand side under the folder "plug-ins" should be a subfolder "Output". Click on it. 5.On the right hand side should be 3 choices select "Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in v1.0 (x86) OUT_DISK.DLL" click on that. 6. this will ask you to select the folder you want the file converted into (remember the winamp will first make a copy than convert it so you won't loose your .mp3 file it will just create a .wav file. It will ask you to choose folder only the first time you do it after if you wish to change the folder just double click on the same)7. Close 8. Open the fil you wish to convert and play (you will not hear the song playing but the play bar will be moving, make sure you click off "Shuffle" and "repeat" because it will just keep converting the file. Also make sure you only open the file you wish to convert because if there is more songs it will just move onto the next song and convert it too).
Once you're done converting make sure you repeat steps 1-7 and change back the OUTPUT to "Nullsoft Wave Out plug in" so you don't keep converting all your files.

MODPlug Tracker is the best one you can edit and make music with these and more formats then convert them to mp3 or wav. It's free, advanced and has a great user interface. Once download and you'll probably thank to me.

all you need is nero 6 and your ready to do evrything you need with your wav file....
first open nero & drag the huge-ass-wav file to be burned in the right hand window (as ya do),
then right click on the little mo-fo, and go to properties...then a window will pop-up with 3 tabs.. your chosen tab shal you choose to accept it is (indexes-limits-split)once you click on it it will load up your wav file in a visual ocilascope layout and you have to listen to you music and press split button when you want that part of your wav file to play as 2 or more tracks, you can do this as many times as you want, but if its a mixed cd your just better off spending the time & listening to it & spliting it during the transition of one track to another, its just more professional sounding.
hope this helped yall.... its my secret technique to make people think i use a recording studio.....its my HOUSE man!

Using an audio editor such as CoolPro record the entire mix as a wav file (Need quite a bit of disk space). Normalise it all and save as master file. Now select the desired length of the first track ensuring that it ends at the start of a beat. Simply cut this and paste into a new wav file - saving as track 1. Now repeat this for all your tracks until you have a complete track listing. Now all you have to do is transfer each wav in order using audio CD burning software (Nero preferably). However make sure that each track is set so that there is no silence/space between track. It will now play as a continuous CD.

You can't convert .mix to .mp3 directly. I don't know what software U used to create that mix but see if you can find a option to convert the mix into the .wav file. When I mix music in Techno Maker there is a button that says "create Hard Copy" which actually means to convert into .wav file. When you manage that than just use some software that will allow you to convert .wav to .mp3 (e.g. Alto Mp3 maker)

I recommend Fruityloops- the demo is quite usable, with a nice library of sounds, and its only $35 to register a full version.

Hey, why don't you go and check out the many beat kinda programs in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/DRUMS_PERCUSSION/">drum section</a>? You might find something better than fruityloops there!

STUTTER
HELP!! ANYONE KNOW OF ANY SOFTWARE THAT MAKES MUSIC STUTTER. FOR EXAMPLE A WORD OR BEAT IN A SONG TO STUTTER AT THE BEGINNING?????

Some time-expansion routines can do it, like
in Sound Forge XP. Another program is
Expander 1.2 by TOTH Laszlo. It's just a
time expansion program, but it has an effect
that can sound kinda like stuttering.
Some stuttering I used to do with a Fostex FD-4
by using the vari-speed dial to control the playing
rate. Any digital recording equipment with a varispeed
dial, might be able to do a similar thing.
Computers can't always do it all
A lot of software stuttering, though, is just
done by cutting and pasting.
Some flutter echoes in reverb machines and programs
can also do a similar thing.
You can take a secion, reverse it, then apply echoes,
then reverse it again.
Yamaha SW1000XG sound card&DS2416 mixing card

I'M interested in knowing if any one out there is presently using the Yamaha SW1000XG Sound Card along with the DS2416 DSP Factory Digital Mixing Card also made by Yamaha.I might have the cart before the horse in asking this question but I have this card and I also order the sound card so that I can have both cards in my computer.My computer is a Pentium 933, 128 ram, 2 hard drives (no scsi) running windows 98.
I have not install none of these cards in my system, I'M waiting the the sound card to arrive so that I can have both cards install at the same time Along with CAkewalk 9.0

i have creative dvd & creative cd-rw , when i put a audio cd there is no sound from both out from the speakers , please help

Make sure you've got the speakers plugged in correctly ;) I've made that mistake myself. Also, check that you haven't accidentally muted your speakers in your volume control.
