Mix automation in Cubase VST 3.7

I am mixing my songs using Cubase VST 3.7. Very useful is the mix automation by recording mixing actions (WRITE button in the mixer window). Nevertheless I have experienced an apparently unpredictable behaviour.
Suppose I record a volume change from -2db to 0db for channel 6 at step 29.1.1. Then I rewind to, let's say, step 18.1.1. In some cases I have seen, as soon as clicking play on the transport, volume back to -2db. In other cases the volume remains at 0db. I have opened the AUDIOMIX track and noticed that Cubase automatically record an event at 1.1.1 to store the initial volume value (in our example -2db). But in some cases it is necessary to play step 1.1.1 in order to have this initial value set, while in other cases this initial value seems to be applied everywhere before the change (step 29.1.1). Useless to say that there is no word about this issue in the electronic documentation of Cubase neither in the "Getting into the details".
Can anyone help?

Goldwave Help needed

Hi everyone,

My name is Claudia and I'm not exactly a computer wiz. I'm currently working in Korea and my school here has asked me to record my voice on the computer and eventually burn it on CD. Yesterday, I downloaded Goldwave and tried to record my voice through a microphone. It didn't work. I'm not sure which jack to use on the back of the computer (which is a PC, DAENYX made by LG). Can anyone give me some tips on what is the easiest way to make use of Goldwave? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Claudia

FruityLoops Yamaha A3000 MIDI out preset

Converting MP3 to Wave EASY AND FAST!!!!

A lot of people ask this same question HOW TO CONVERT MP3 to Wav
MP3 2 WAVE SUCKS!!!
there is a much easier and faster way to convert .mp3 to .wav . A lot of people don't know about this but you can convert Mp3's to wav using WINAMP!(if you don't have it download it, it's free) Well this is how.
1. Open the winamp 2. In the top left corner there is a little icon (parabolla), left click on it. 3. scroll down to options than move over to preferences and click. This will open a window "Winamp Preferences" 4. On a left hand side under the folder "plug-ins" should be a subfolder "Output". Click on it. 5.On the right hand side should be 3 choices select "Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in v1.0 (x86) OUT_DISK.DLL" click on that. 6. this will ask you to select the folder you want the file converted into (remember the winamp will first make a copy than convert it so you won't loose your .mp3 file it will just create a .wav file. It will ask you to choose folder only the first time you do it after if you wish to change the folder just double click on the same)7. Close 8. Open the fil you wish to convert and play (you will not hear the song playing but the play bar will be moving, make sure you click off "Shuffle" and "repeat" because it will just keep converting the file. Also make sure you only open the file you wish to convert because if there is more songs it will just move onto the next song and convert it too).
Once you're done converting make sure you repeat steps 1-7 and change back the OUTPUT to "Nullsoft Wave Out plug in" so you don't keep converting all your files.

Creating continuous CD's

I was wondering if someone knows of CD burner software that will allow me to delete (adjust) space between songs so I can create continuous playing CD. I know I could just make one big mix and burn it onto the CD but what I want is to be able to skip from song to song on the CD. I have Sound Forge 4.5, Magix Music Maker 2000 and Techno Maker which allow me to make some great mixed music but I would like to burn it onto the CD as a continuous party mix. I'm using Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4, and as far as I can see this won't allow me to do it. PLS HELP! THNX

Get CD Architect, which is a tool you use via Sound Forge 4.5... here's what you do...

Say you're a DJ and you want to make mix CDs, complete with track ID's (so you can skip song to song)... you record your mix directly to SoundForge, which will make it a .wav file. You save the .wav file on your harddrive, then open up CD Architect and open the .wav file via the file--audio pool menu selections. Once the .wav file is open, you can drop track numbers in whereever you want, save the file, and then you use CD Architect to burn your new CD. I can't remember all of the menu names, otherwise I would walk you through it via those..

I saved cd songlists in Easy Creator 4...the extension is CL4. I did something...???...now all those files have a DSN extension and they are not recognized by Easy Creator. WHAT"S WITH THAT ???

You probably won't find software to create the disks
you want but you can send your midifiles to your TS 12
via MIDI and then save them on your TS 12.

can anyone tell me how to transfer one cd to another using nero the problem is the original cd has 21 tracks but on the 18th track there is no music and nero just keeps on reading it indefinately never stopping so i cannot save to harddrive to transfer to blank cd help !

Rip the songs onto your HD using audio grabber than burn them onto your CD. Shareware version of audio grabber only let's you grab a few songs from the CD but be patient rip the songs it offers u and than just hit refresh CD until it lets you rip the songs you haven't ripped yet.

I have a friend who is a composer, who created written music in 1994-1996 on a 5 1/2" floppy disk
using an editing program called Encore (version 3 or 4). He needs to print it out.
Aside from having to find someone with the proper disk drive, will he need
to have the actual software available as well? How can I help him to do this?

He would like to have this done in the next couple of days, if possible, as he will be meeting
with a conductor who would like the music.

Hi Linda,

You could try downloading the demo at

and see if that will print the score, otherwise you
could buy it ($599), or you could contact the company
that owns Encore these days: <a href="http://www.gvox.com/">GVOX</a> and see
what advice they have.

I have a Pasario Compaq running windows 98, and I have been wanting to send music through email.. I already know how to add really cool graphics and animations along with my peotry and etc. I am hoping that someone will read this and be able to help me. I have been to the computer stores, however they were no help. Someone told me that they're links on the web that have free shareware to download for shrinking and or tarring mp3s to fit email, but alas my many attempts have come up with no results. I would be ever so greatful for someone's help...

I had the same problem. I ended up using AIM. It requires the other person to be on line but it will continue the download from where it left off if there's some kind of connection problem

Hi!

MP3s are already compressed files. They use lossy compression to get rid of frequencies that can't be heard or are 'non-essential'.

Anyway, the only way to shrink the file size is to re-encode the MP3 at a lower bitrate like 64kbps. But then if you have music or layered sounds, you'll really notice the degradation of sound.

I reckon you should just put your music on a server like MP3.com and then email everybody the link to the song. That way people don't get their mailboxes jammed up with an mp3 file and you have decent streaming MP3s.

As far as I know, there isn't any software to do that. I think that's because it would be illegal to do it under the digital millennium act because PLJ files are copy protected.
