Cool Edit

Anyone help with hacks for Cool Edit Pro or 2000.
I have the sharware and need to free up all the bits that can't be used. Also need a registration number.
Any other help would be appreciated.

Using Goldwave to Combine WAV Files

I want to use Goldwave to combine 7 WAV files into one large file. I cannot figure out how to do this in Goldwave and I have not been able to get assistance from them. Can anyone here tell me how to use Gildwave to combine the files into one file?

:you can have several files open at the one time in goldwave. highlite a file and choose copy from the menu, then place the start marker in the file and at the positon you want to combine it with, choose paste.

I am havig problems burning mp3s, my computer is telling me that the file extention must be .wav, when i save the mp3 onto my hard drive i save them on to winamp. does any one know a program that will convert the file to a wav file so that i can burn it onto a cd?

You don't say what format the song is in, but I assume you mean from an audio CD or MP3. If that's the case, it can't be done (read some earlier input on this board to see why). However, If you were to search the net for the song as a MIDI file (someone may have already programmed it) then with the use of a basic sequencer program, you could change it about to your heart's content! Of course MIDI files have no vocals.

Voice Extraction

Is there a program or process that can filter out all rhythms and music, leasving only the voice. I'd like to sample some vocals, and movies, but there's always background instruments or noise going on. I'd like something that could clean up the sound to only have the voice or vocals.

Can anybody tell me how to record my guitar, from the line out of the amplifier to the mic in, and get a good sound?. When i am delaing with distortion, the recorded guitar sounds like a can!!!

Hello Daniel,
First there is a difference between line level, which is coming out of your amp, and mic level.
With out going into all those details you need to run your guitar through a D.I. or preamp before it goes into the line in on your sound card.
The D.I or preamp increases the signal of your guitar giving you a bettter/cleaner level of sound to record.

can you tell me if this pre-amp or DI could be software. Also i havbe heard about compressors.
The problem is that when i have distortion on my amp, the recorded sound is like a coke can!

hey D try putting your mic 'level in' VERY low and boosting line out signal. If no good put 'mic in' a bit higher + line out a bit lower etc until things improve. It sounds like u r maybe using too much distortion? Try just a little or even none + use a software distortion effect? DI box is hardware and compression will not help a bad signal.

She bought a G3 and I get the 6100. Can I use this thing for Multi and or MIDI recording? I need help with deciding what to look for on ebay to make it happenin'. Software & hardware suggestions wanted!!!
Here's the specs: Mac 6100/60AV 40m RAM, 4.5g HD, 60804 PPC, OS9. I dont want to upgrade this clunker unless I have to either. Whatever works.

Which software would I use to edit music in a microsoft power point presentation. I am using about 5 different songs and when the song changes after I slide the music just stops. I would like to be able to make it fade out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Two (2) alternatives come to my mind...the first one is a freeware called WAVESPLITTER which you can download from http://claudiosoft.online.fr ; the other one is WAVE STUDIO from Creative Labs, the SoundBlaster people.

You must transform your mp3 files to WAV (audio) files with a decoder software, one software I use is the free download soft SCMPX, this soft transform audio to mp3, mp3 to audio and play both, one way you find it: www.google.com and type scmpx in the search file

Track1.cda instead of Data!?!!!

I've recently put DirectCD and EZCD Creator on my PC, to work with my new CD-RW. Now, whenever I insert a normal data CD (such as the one I installed EZCD off), it just shows Track1.cda and that's it. It's not an audio CD, but a data CD! This happens with a few CDs of mine (no copies, all original games and stuff)... This has sooo pissed me off, I'm hoping someone's had the same problem and fixed it,

Cubase Recording! Help...

don't know what you mean there! Try messing around with your audio settings. Mute certain selections etc and see what happens. You may have the ability - as I do - to use 'line out' as an extra 'line in'?? If so mute 'line out' port when recording.

At 0, all high freq are removed. As you move up, more high frequencies are added until you reach normal sound at full.

i really don't like spitefull people like alay. lynn there is no electronic manual for logic. although you will be able to buy a book called "fast track to emagic logic" in march 2001 from amazon.com for 25USD.

VSTs without Cubase?

I would be really grateful if someone could post a solution to this. Since Steinburg (without telling anyone) disabled VST functionality on my soundblaster-bundled copy, I have this question...
Is their any kind of program that woll run VST plug ins for you other than Cubase, etc? I imagine a kind of little freeware stand alone thing. perhaps it dont exist. perhaps it do.
