Version one full, but upgraded, was bundled with burner in lieu of Ulead sodtware which was useless. I also get same mewssage when trying to burn a data cd??????

I really like Hotburn's set up. However, it's limitations are many. I have screwed up way too many CD's with their stupid "Buffer under-run" and other error messages despite the fact that I have nothing else open or running during burning time. This is so frustrating. After errors,you have to set up all the tracks again, and follow the usual procedure - and everything goes smoothly. Their tech support is useless. When things go smoothly, I like them. At other times -ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH.

I need a copy of Spin Doctor for adaptec 4.

Converting CD Audio to MP3 files -

You require CD Ripping software that records the CD Audio tracks from
your CD into WAV files on your computer. Then you can encode the WAV
files to MP3 files. Sound Forge does not record CDA to MP3.

check your Recording Properties. Double click the volume icon in your system
tray. Go to Options > Properties > Recording - make sure Microphone is selectes
as one of the sources, then click OK and make sure the Select box is checked for
Microphone.

If all of that was already correct, then you will have to explain more about the
problem to get an answer.

how to change a downloaded drum file to midi

I downloaded a bonus Drum File from JAMMER and I belive I unzipped it. But it remains a drum file and shows me an invalid file message and therefore won't open in JAMMER. How do I convert it to a MIDI file?

I'm not familiar with JAMMER but if it came down in a zip file, the chances are that it is in .wav format. The only way I know of to change a wav to midi is aurally. That is...A) Listen.. then, B)Program what you have heard into your midi sequencer.:)

I have a windows 95. I can't play games on my computer that has sound because my computer doesn't have a sound card. But in the back of my computer is soundblaster. So how do I set up my computer to hear sound while I play my games.

Any of those cards will work. But you won't be able to remove vocal tracks off CDs with Cakewalk alone.
Removing vocals is a very complex process that doesn't always work. You can try <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/VocalRemover/"> AnalogX Vocal Remover</a>its a DirectX plug-in that will work with Cakewalk

you can use the envelope under 'INS' in the channel settings facility to cut 'hold' 'sustain' 'decay' and 'release' right back and this should do the trick. Otherwise use an audio editor to cut the sample in half or whatever. 'Sampled' is a great freeware audio editor.

several bands. I hate the eq with cakewalk that simply does not make any sense!

Hi S,

The EQ plug-in in Cakewalk is modeled after a parametric EQ. I think what you're looking for is a graphic EQ. I'm not sure if there are any plug-ins available like that, but you might want to do a search on this site for 'graphic eq'. There may be one out there.

Multiple Frequency Sine wave generator

I'm not sure but if you get the demo of Cubase VST you can (I think) cut + paste the included plugins into the relevant cubasis folder!

I have an old D110 that I haven't used for years. I don't have anything to offer you other than say that you might be wise to search for D10 and D110 patches as they will be easier to find. I think the only difference with the D10 and the D20 was the D20 has a built in sequencer, everything patchwise should be the same.

There are lots of links to resources and patches available though, follow the link below and look for D10,D20.

At the top right of each of the software listings on Shareware Music Machine
is a link to the software author's web site (if available). This is the first
link under the "Fact File" heading in the listing, under AUTHOR. Most of the
authors will have their latest contact details on their web site. SOME will
even mention on their site that their software can be included in such a
product as long as their software package is no altered and they are notified
of and supplied with a copy of the CD-ROM.

I'd strongly advise to to contact the copyright owners of any programs u intend to use. Nodout they will have different policies on this kind of third party distribution. You can also check 'terms and conditions' file on any relevant software demo for advice.

Back in the BBS days, most shareware was free
to distribute. You could charge a couple bucks
for the media, but not much.

What browser are you using?? Most browsers have stuffit built in so that they will automatically unpack .SIT-.HQX and almost all of the other compressed file formats. If it doesn't work automatically then you should check to see if Stuffit is on the HD somewhere else.

I assume you have a Mac because of the program therefore

1. go to find (sherlock (option F)) and type in stuffit.

2. if it has found nothing then go to the link below and download 5.5 which is free, then do this...

3. If you find Stuffit Expander (application program), then click once on it and find out where it is hiding. Make an "Alias" (highlight the application icon 'in it's folder' and go to File->-Make Alias) of the file and drag it to the desktop.

4. Drag 'Macster.sit' onto the Alias and it will unpack a Macster folder with all the files, in whatever folder the original .SIT file was in.

I personally have an Alias of stuffit expander and dropstuff on the desktop at all times. Dropstuff allows me to pack folders by dragging them onto the Alias at any time... Highly recommended!

I have the same stuffit problem. Used stuffit with macster 5, no problem(well, not then, but that's another story) . Got macster 5.5 (to contend with the other story) , the installer does as Ashley said. Drag installer to stuffit on my desktop, down comes alert saying it can't find stuffit cuz doesn't have translation extension with appropriate extensions .........aaaaaaarrrrggghhhhh....There is no help for us kindergardners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe u need a different stuffit version?

Split the HUGE .wav file into the size and number of tracks you want on your CD with an audio editor
of your choice, saving each split as a separate .wav file, eg. track1.wav, track2.wav, etc.

To burn the tracks without gaps (so you have a mix that does not pause in between tracks), you must
use a method call Disk-At-Once. The following CD Burners on Shareware Music Machine support DAO -
