I know this freeware (!) prog works well. It uses DirectX capabilities in your sequencer to enable VST!!! Do u have DX in your Cubase though??

Hi you can use SCMPX encoder-decoder free download software this soft transform wav (audio format) to mp3 and mp3 to wav (audio format) and one way you find it: www.google.com and type scmpx in the search file

Combining WAV files

Goldwave is free, but SoundForge is EASY & 10X better. CakeWalk and CoolEdit are also very capable, but if you are struggling with Goldwave, rather forget them. You can download demos of all of these from their sites (you can track them down via hitsquad.com) and see which you prefer.

easiest way would be to link stereo jack lead from audio-out of computer to MD line-in, play your mp3s ( I assume you have mp3-playing software) whilst recording on your MD.
If you desire higher quality you will have to convert the mp3 files to another format, cannot help you there as I am having same dilemma with trying to record onto a cd so that it will be possible to play back on normal cd player

Lifting Vocals

Hello there

There's no easy solution to this. If someone came up with the program to do it perfectly, I think they'd be raking in the downloads.

Look for acapella versions of songs. That would be my advice if you want to work with a quality vocal track.

Does anybody know how to change mp3's I have from napster into wav files so I can download them onto a mini-disk. What kind of a cord will I need and is this possble. The mini-disk is just like a writtable CD.

Indexing a wav for CD

Encoding music for web play

I am a songwriter (Adult Contemporary & Christian Contemporary). I want to encode music from cassette tapes to MP3, WAV., ETC. so that it can be uploaded to the net. I use an iMac, Overture 2, Metro 5, BinaB 8, and SoundJam Free.

What is it you need to know? If I were you, I'd forget about working with WAV for web play. Of course, you will need an audio editor and an MP3 encoder.

Your doing a grand job Geoff directing lost people to the correct areas of this site but why are SO MANY people lost in the first instance??? You'd save a lot of your own time and a lot of needlessly posted messages if this site was redesigned. All you need is a better laid out header! Come on, let people know what u have here - quite a number of visitors clearly think this is just a message board site and no wonder! How many people go elsewhere having completely missed your software listings etc???

I have gigasampler but want a software sampler that I can use from the VST instruments list so that I can convert midi to audio. I saw a demo of one once but because it was a demo you couldn't save performances. Is there such a thing ANYWHERE or was I just dreaming.....thanks
