I'm not sure if you want to burn Akai CDs or simply
read them.

No questions are dumb. Here's <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/WIDI/">WIDI</a>. Give it a go, but we can't guarantee it'll work as the process of transcribing is made difficult by the various instruments in the recording all playing over one another.

I can't say enough about what you guys are about. Freedom and Free stuff! I just got on the Web (8/04) and I've run it to one scam after another... constantly. I have an older IBM clone with a 200Mhz CPU (Really) 64Megs of memory and two hard drives (4G total) that I I've got shoe-horned into this 3/4 size tower. The good news is that I've got a fat T1 cable coming in through my living room. So, needless to say I get dial-up speed (1098k or something) on a 3meg line. I guess I should've built a better computer. Duh... If you guys are all through with the Labor day festivities, maybe you could answer a few questions, and help a fellow american who's down on his luck.
: 1) Your freeware selection is awsome! I had to give up checkin' stuff - I only made it halfway through the "A" section!

You can convert WAV to MP3. There are plenty of MP3 encoding tools at <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/MP3/">http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/MP3/</a>. Plenty of freeware in this category too.

As for web radio, download <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Winamp/">Winamp</a> and then go to <a href="http://www.shoutcast.com/">ShoutCast</a> to find heaps of stations that will be accessible via Winamp.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go and throw another barbie on the shrimp.

remove bass

well, thats it. i want to take a song, and remove the bassline, so i can play over it for my GCSE music practical. i used soundforge 7.0, and change the EQ, but all it seems to do is make everything high pitched. Im real new to this music editing stuff, i just want to do this so i have a good backing track for my peice. can anybody tell me how, or even point me in the right direstion?

If there is a highpass filter in Soundforge, use it to try to remove the lowest freqs from say 200hz down out. The bass will still be there, but it won't thump. Bass has such a wide range, it's hard to kill it all. But the lowest end being removed will help out.

Acoustica problem

Help! I've been using Acoustica to transfer songs from a 4-track cassette recorder to computer and clean up the recordings a bit before burning them to CD. So far so good. But, recently I wanted to re-work some older songs from the CD. When I downloaded them back to the computer hard drive, Acoustica would not open the files again, even though they are in .wav format. Is there a way around this, or am I just overlooking something obvious? Any suggestions appreciated.

i really really want to become a singer. it is not because of the money or fame it is because i have always wanted to sing!!! i sing everywhere i go and sometimes its embarrasing! i think i have a great singing voice and i enjoy singing all differant types of music!

You have to make it happen. Don't just sit around and wait till it come to you. You have to come to it. Because I know that I am not going to sit around and wait for someone to give me a record deal. I am going to go get it. Mama didn't raise no fool. PEASE!

ever since i was little i wanted to be a singer. i love singing and i am not shy. i know i can make it just right now it's getting on my last nerve. i wrote to a record company and they never wrote back and i asked my mom if i can enter this on singing contest and she said no!!! i have a really really good voice too!!!! and my friends don't think i can make it and they make fun of me because i wear a microphone charm around my neck.. i take singing seriously but noone seems to understand me. i wish some people can be in my shoes for 1 day and see how much i practice why i am so mad when i can't sing just see how determind i am.!!! if they were in my shoes they would totally let me be in contests and not make fun of me. i am 13 and i want to be a singer. someone help me pleaz

My sister and I would have singing contest and I would always win. Sometimes when I sing, it feels like I am on stage and I am singing to a lot of people. Singing is a big part on my mom's side of the family. My great grandmother (who is still living) would always make me join a chior. When we go to church, I would say on the chior with her. Hey everyone if anyone knows how I could get an agent and/or a manager I would be so thankfull. All of you who want to be famous singers don't fret if you ever get rejected there will be other times.Just remember dream big. If you really want it you can get it. Hi, I really want to become a singer. I am desperite to become a famous singer like Hilary Duff. I am her biggest fan. I love her. But the point is I always want to become a singer when I was a kid. So please I really want to become a singer.

Hey, i realy want to be a singer because its my dream. i don't want to because fame and mony, its well i have some songs and when i drop of a friend at their house i sing. i don't have e-mail so mail me.

hia every one i want to become a singer because i have a great voice i have been singing scince i was 5 and people say i have the voice of an angel and should get a singing career i wish this could come true i know that they get payed alot and they want the fame and fortune i just want the chance to sing in front of people singing is not about fame and money singing come from the heart please help me get a career
