coping lp's tocd's

JV1010 serial, win XP - No input??

I have a JV1010 connected to my PC running Win XP via the Serial port.. the output form Cuabase SX works fine but i cant get any input...

Any Ideas

I guess you have to look for an update (for Win XP) on the net (Roland site) and reinstal the driver. I work with a JV1010 myself, but via a USB-midi-port (midi connection) and it works great!

I just tried to download a music search program for my IMAC and this is the message I received,
The requested URL /downloads/iswipe1.2b10osx.sit was not found on this server.
This could mean a lot of things but if anyone knows what is happening, please let me know.

It's obviously missing from the server. I would always inform the website and then go to google and insert the application name. That's what I did and came up with this..

Still no go. I tried downloading ISwipe from Hillman-Minx's main site. Same problem as before (a brief start and then, nothing). Then I tried the Australian mirror site and got the same thing from both HTTP and FTP attempts.
Having the same problem with LimeWire (except a small, bullet-shaped grey icon hac appeared on the top left corner of my MAC OS X desktop.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have been able to download other software (MetroGnome) while this has been going on.

I just purchased an Optimus record player that is supposed to transfer vinyl records on to CD's via computer. I was told by the shop owner to get into this site to download the software. I am having great difficulty in finding it. Could you please tell me which program I have to download.

You have to transfer the vinyl onto the computer. The program is just part of the process.

If the guy at the shop told you what program to download and you have forgotten the name, then ask him.

What computer do you use. Mac, PC.

Generate CD&G Track

After I open an existing karaoke session you are supposed to evoke the generate CD&G Track dialog box available from the karaoke menu, per instructions. This is not an option under my karaoke menu. What's up? Can it be reached another way?

a floppy. it saved in the mid. format. i want to

i see from your answer that i probably need a wav file...however when i insert my saved music on the floppy into the tower, i get a player that actually plays the pitches, the audio of what i recorded from the clavinova...is this what you are speaking of?

this is what i want to record onto a cd for my voice students to use for learning parts...

did i state this correctly in my first inquiry? this is what i need...

and i have to ask such basic questions....if this is the case, how do i proceed...i need help as in download this...click on this...insert this...save to

Do you still have the clavinova? If so, get it to play the song for you and record the audio output from the clavinova itself.

If you clicked on the midi file on the computer and it plays some music, then the midi file player itself has some sort of software synth that is making the sound. Due to not knowing what player you are using, I could suggest that you record the audio output from the computer (from where the music is coming) onto a MD or even a tape machine. This is the poorest way to proceed generally. I would get the clavinova back and record the sounds it makes.

From what I can gather here.....

What you have actually saved to disk is a MIDI file and not the Audio itself...
In otherwords you saved the note information/data to disk as opposed to the music you hear...

I'm only guessing here but I think your MIDI file contains the notes that were played eg A/B/C etc..
so there would be no point in buring it to disk.....
(it's just data ... not music)

What you really want to do is to record the music from your keyboard and not the data....
Is there a Line Out or HeadPhones or Phono connection on the keyboard ?

You could actually look at hooking up the keyboard to the computer via the LINE IN on the computer.
Then us an audio editor/recorder to record the Audio.

Regarding Burning music to disk, if you want to create a CD that can be listened to on most HiFi's or in the car etc... you are better buring WAV files to CD and not MP3.
Only the most recent of technology will read MP3 files from disk.

The most standard Audio file is a WAV file.
An MP3 file is basically a hugely compressed audio file. The main benefit in Mp3s is that they are a fraction of the size of Wav files...

Eg Song1.wav might be 48MB (Disk space)
Song1.mp3 might be 4MB

PS there is no such thing as stupidity...only lack of knowledge.

yeah its the best way to record since your Clavinova has much better sounding then your soundcard i presume.Go ahead and connect your 2 stereo outs from your Clavinova to coputer Line in-you probably need an stereo adapter since soundcard has other type than Clavinova-get it at the store like music store or Radioshack.You also will need good sound card if you want to record good quality wav files-SBlive will do but there are more expencive ones that you probably dont need.Make sure that you also buy good cables because sound gets lost with the cheap cables.Then use one of the recording software like Soundforge or your computer already might have some sort of software like Sound Recorder-use that too if you dont have any software or you cand download nice free software from sites like ZDnet or Winsite.Anyway here are my help to you-have fun.

micrphone problem with fruityloops

I've just recently started working with fruityloops but i had no mic. I bought a microphone yesterday and I can not get it to work with fruityloops. I did a voice test on my computer and it worked just fine. Is there some way I have to configure fruityloops to allow my micrphone to work.

As far as I know... (correct me if I'm wrong)
but Fruity loops does'nt support hard disk recording

If you want to record things on the Mic, do it outside of fruity loops
(in an audio recorder/editor) and then import the Wav file.

Or if it's a case that you just want to sing along..
Check the speaker icon on the bottom right of the screen and make sure that the Microphone input is not disabled.

want to buy computer to try music software

I want to try making music on puter since i can't play any instruments and i sing like a twat. BUT i also don't know that much about computers. i want to buy a second hand £500 computer that will let Reason, Cool Edit and Cubase (and any other suggestions welcome here)run to their full potential(ish) so that i can give it a good go. What should I look for? I heard the best processor is P4, but is there a cheaper alternative: Athlon something? many thanks. also someone suggested Music 2000 on playstation, were they taking the piss or is it a good place to start?

RMX is the encrypted file format for RealJukebox, as far as I know. So it won't work in Media player. Ask your friend what he/she uses to play the file.
