protools on a laptop?
has anyone gotten their protools 4.3.2/projectI system up and running on a magma cb2 expansion chassis? i'm using a pismo400 running sys9.1(base) w/DAE/DSI 3.4.2 but i only can get it to boot in powermix mode, which pretty much makes the project card worthless. my card is rev.C but it does have the pci matchmaker chip on it. any help or hacks or ideas would be appreciated; ALOT!

I invent games for mobile phones.
I am trying to put midi to nokia's 7650 but it does not exept it.
I heard that i can put *.wav into it and that there is a way to "shrink" the file.
Any one with anything? help.

Hi - I recently bought a gadget called a guitar port, fantastic piece of equipment, allows me to play guitar and have the exact same sound as any of the top guitarists.
Does anyone know of a something similar for a keyboard, would like to create new sounds out of the keyboard if possible - many thanks

Hi i'v buoght a drumm cd in kurzweil k2000 format im totally new here i need the sounds but only have a computer how can i get the sounds in wave or how can i here somthing is there a program i can get to do this? or am i too deep in the shit and don't know what the hell i'm talking about!

If the CD is specific K2000 mapped samples, then I suspect you either need a CDROM that is compatible with the kurzweil (talking SCSI here, if it has it) or, if it is indeed SCSI, then you could SCSI it up to the computer and use the SMDI SCSI sample transfer protocol. I do this from time to time myself and it's very handy if you have a SMDI equipped audio editor or a SMDI utility of sorts.

Ripping vinyls
I used to rip vinyls using a PC successfully
I have now changed to a Sony laptop with standard sound card features & can't rip properly
I used to connect to the line in socket from the Stereo headphone socket.
The only socket that seems to work on the laptop is the microphone socket, then playing the music through the laptop speakers.
Using Soundforge the problem is very loud background hiss, making it impossible to record
Can anyone offer any advice?

I am looking for someone with experience using the 12T and 10T combo with 4.20 software. I have issues with the Lexpanel flashing on the screen and minimizing. I saw a fix for the core 2 but not the 32. I used patch 3 also. No luck..any help out there?

There is a file that lexicon tech support used to provide which basically changed some settings in the registry and fixed that issue. I believe I still have it. Reply via e-mail if you're interested in the file.

Need help: Logic film score length and sync probs
I'm a newbie to Logic (platinum 5.5), and I'm doing audio editing for a feature film (80 minutes). I'm having two specific problems and I'm wondering if anyone could give me a tip or two:
1) I'm mixing to a Quicktime movie in a floating window--the movie is the correct length (80 minutes), but the arrangement isn't the same length! I scroll the movie out to the end, and the arrange window just snaps back to around 10 minutes before the end of the film.
2) there is some CRAZY sync drift. My timebases and sample rates seem to be set right--am I missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you actually dragged the timing bar at the top of the arrange window so that it is longer than the movie?

serial number lost
A couple of years ago i bought some music teaching software
called Discovering Keyboards by a company called
Voyetra. Since then i have moved house and lost the serial number does anybody have one, the company did not help me because they no longer make this product.

Whether what you say is true or not, your request is the number one most used request from people that are trying to obtain a free copy of commercial software. Serial numbers are related to the copywrite holder anyhow. I doubt they will want to get involved in handing it out to any jock over the internet.

Distorted clicks in playing mp3s with winamp 2.81

Can anyone help me?
Everytime I'm playing my mp3's with winamp 2.81 there is sometimes some distorted clicks and knacks which is not the result of a defect mp3. (I check it with MP3Utility172). I've tried it with all my mp3's and there is the same.
Perhaps my driver of my soundcard isn't compatible with winamp anymore.Some time ago I have actualised my realtek audio 97 driver.

i use special MIDI-PC soundcard converter and cables (in/out) and Cakewalk pro 9 (look for it using kaaza ;)and it works perfectly.

i don't know exactly is it possible to transmit earlier made arangments from ctk671 to some music sequencer, but there is a program on http://music.casio.com that lets you save your work on the hdd disk. It's a kind of compromism....

kazaa software
When I download a kazaa software file it will download as an audio file and not the software file. Thus it will not open. It tries to open as an audio file. How can I either open it as a software file or make sure it downloads as a software file.

Just change the file extension to .exe rather than .mp3 or .wav or whatever. Its that easy.
