Hi,
I want to hear the "marvellous" Rap beats you're talking about... in order to do better!
What kind of rap beat you are searching for? Latino, westcoast, "Wu-Tang"-like, etc?
If you could only send me MP3's, that would be great.
Waiting for your reply!
Nadir, France.

Voice muffled in background
I get the 'background' music loud and clear when I put my CD on but the voices sound FAR in the background, not clear, muffled. Why???? Thank YOu
I am a novice on this program so need help ! ! !
Very Much appreciated !
A few ideas
Make sure you have all of your wires/speakers connected correctly. Make sure that everything is connect (+) to (+), (-) to ( -). If you wires are color-coded, also make sure they match: black-black, red-red. This is the first step. This first step is to make sure that your music is being played "in phase".
Some other things affecting vocal clarity:
Whatever system you are listening to as you record your CD, will affect how it sound when played back. If your recording system makes voices sound clearer and louder than usual, then when you play on another system, voices will sound less clear and quieter. This is one difference between professional recording circumstances and home recording. This is called an issue of "flat monitoring". "Flatness" in this case, refers to "frequency response". I'm am throwing out these terms in case you feel like looking them up later, or if you already know them, then you will know how to reconsider.
Another issue , is that you might be recording or changing your music at a level that is extremely quiet. At very quiet levels, almost nothing can be heard but frequencies in the voice range. Therefore, when you playback at a much louder level, the proportions change to human hearing, and everything else is so suddenly loud that it drowns down the voices. This has happened to me too. This happens especially to people who work on music late at night and are trying hard not to wake up the neighbors. :)
This could also happen if you are using dynamics (amplitude) compression on many other sounds, but not on the voices. Or, if you are using a type of compression on the voices which makes them muffled. Either issue is common.
Last but not least, you may be listening to your recording at too loud a level. This is extremely common, and extremely DANGEROUS. You are making yourself deaf, slowly, but gradually. The fact that your recording sounds different on playback is a definate warning and PROOF that your hearing is being pressed over it's limits. You have two choices: Start wearing -32dB earplugs while you record and mix without making setting the levels louder than you usually do (very rare advice, indeed), or stop blasting it so darn loud.
A good way to operate, is to make sure your vocals sound good in both mono and stereo. If you switch to mono and notice problems, then probably you need to modify your sound engineering techniques on that project. Another thing to keep handy is a parametric or graphic equaliser (EQ). These are extremely useful if you just need to get the voices louder quickly without doing anything else. With such an EQ, you can play around with making different parts of the total sound mixture stand out.
Good luck. Keep trying, and keep listening.
record from Computer into a fisher cassette deck
Help. Does anyone know how I can record music from my computer into my fisher cassette double deck? I can record from my stereo, but How can I hook up my computer to the system so I can record from the computer> thanks.
Re: record from Computer into a fisher cassette deck
I CAN HELP, BUT YOU HAVE TO IM ME OR ICQ
IM "DeeJayRussko" or ICQ "135009001"
HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!
Re: record from Computer into a fisher cassette deck
Depends what sort of connectors the tape deck has. If it's integrated with the rest of your system, then you may be out of luck, since most MIDI systems don't have audio in. If it's a separate deck, then you can connect the LINE OUT of the PC to the TAPE IN on the cassette deck.

burning a karaoke cd
When I burned a karaoke cd, The music was heard but you couldnt see any words. Am I doing something wrong or can you copy an exact duplicate on a karaoke cd?
Use CloneCD...
and have checked on "read subchannel data from audio tracks". Use your burner to create the disk image, and then burn the image. If the graphics pit, lower your write speed (below 4x).

music question
Help! Does anyone know what discantus positio vulgaris means?
Re: music question
It doesn't "mean" anything. It's the title of a book published in 1230 by Moravia. Have a look at http://humanities.uchicago.edu/classes/zbikowski/469_w.html
for a more detailed explanation.

Librae Solidae Denari (heard of this on a Shamen album)
I would tend to agree with Lister. I tried 2 separate Latin-English search engines, and nothing really came up, not even any clues.
I think it's either something more obscure, or a spoof of Latin. Or, if you are transcribing something from ear, maybe you are misunderstanding what you are hearing. Maybe a combination of all of the above. People try to put all kind of stuff into songs without actually knowing what they are really talking about or quoting. It's also not unheard of for musicians to make up their own dialects as they go along. Actually, I think that's a good sign in a musician--It means they won't settle for being slowed down by the lyric-writing process.
Some songwriters even write songs based upon nonsense babytalk sounds, and then rewrite the song into real words, after they get used to singing it for a while. A little bit like GLOSSALIA
burning part of a cd
We are useing music studio 7,my friend and i need to only burn a cd from say second 15-45 of track 1. She said that she figured out how to start and stop the track at the place that she wants it, but she doesn't know how to load the cd into the program we need this done asap! HELP!
thanks!
Partial arson
If you have a PC, you can download <b>CDWave</b> and use it to select the section that you want to burn. (CDWave has a command that lets you save segments of WAVE files.) It you are using a Mac, you can use freeware <b>SoundHack</b> to extract the audio directly from the CD and save it as an AIFF file.
Once you have saved the section you want to burn as a WAVE or AIFF file, you can run your CD-burning program and add that WAVE (or AIFF) file to the list of songs to burn to audio CD.
If you are using Easy CD Creator (Toast on a Mac) then you can just drag the WAVE (or AIFF) file to the main window, and it will be added to the playlist.
How to get SoundLib and ObjectSupportLib to run without having E
Sometimes it is useful to run a Mac with all of the extensions turned off. When this happens, some services become unavailable, and some audio programs won't run or function. Here is a trick that can sometimes overcome that:
Open up your System Folder. Copy "System" to the desktop. Be sure to leave the original exactly as it is, where it is. Now, using DropAttribute, or Typer, or SetItsType! Change the type code of "System" to "shlb". It's also probably a good idea to change the creator code to something safe like "ddsk" (DiskCopy). The copy is now a shared library file. If you are using DropAttribute, you can also unlock the file and unlock it's name so you can rename it, which is necessary and safe. Rename this file "ObjectSupportLib" and place it in the same folder as any application that won't run without <b>ObjectSupportLib</b> available (such as DiskCopy 6.3.3). You can also duplicate this file and rename it <b>InterfaceLib</b> and put in the folder of any application that won't run unless it finds "InterfaceLib".
OK. One last tip:
Find in your Extensions folder the file named <b>QuickTime PowerPlug</b>. Copy it to the desktop and rename it <b>QuickTimeLib</b>. Now, just like above, change it's type code to "shlb" and the creator code to "TVOD". Now you have the infamous QuickTimeLib available to place in the folder of the application which won't run complaining that it can't find "QuickTimeLib" when extensions are turned off. (For example, SoundApp).
Just so you know what we just did, ....
"shlb" is the type code which represents Shared Library files. Shared Library files are like .DLL files on the PC, and are files that aren't typically loaded until needed for running. They contain little kits of data like windows and instructions. Well, as it turns out, many files in the system folder are incorporated into the System file with each System software update or release. SoundLib was incorporated into the Sound Manager, and the Sound Manager was incorporated into the System. QuickTimeLib was incorporated into QuickTime PowerPlug. I learned all of this by reading InformINIT (Freeware info about MacOS system files and third party extensions). One day I ran a program with my Extensions turned off (I think it was either DiskCopy or SoundApp or SoundHack). It complained about not being able to find some particular file that I already knew did not exist on my computer. Therefore, I scoured my computer for that shared library filename by searching INSIDE of my files by using search program FindText. I also used ResEdit to open up some of the suspected files and browse the string, text, and data resources for references to the missing library. I thought about what InformINIT had said, and noticed from Symbionts control panel documentation that shared libraries are not much different from plain old resource/text archives, and aren't as tricky to modify without consequences.
Well, to make a long story short, I played around with this technique, and I just brought you the results so you won't have to mess around with ResEdit or anything as dangerous as that.
I know there is a way to modify StuffIt! system files and shared libraries to accomplish similar results, but I have not yet perfected that. It seems that recent versions of StuffIt! contain a file which contains many many Shared Libraries inside. Some of them are for compression, some are for decompression. And that's about as much as I can say about that.
By the way, SoundLib and ObjectSupportLib should NOT be put in your system folder or in the extensions folder. If you see either one of them there, and you are running on system 8 or later, you need to move them out of the system folder. They can actually cause crashing. They are sometimes installed by CyberDog or OpenDoc or other programs, but are no longer needed because they have been replaced by code which is inherently present in the System file.
have fun with this. please let me know if you find other similar tricks like this for shared library files
problems with music production programs
I have Music production programs including Rebirth, Cubase, Sonar, Absynth and Sound Forge,. But unfortunately do not have any manuals and am finding it very hard to figure out the ways of these programs, can anyone help?
music production programs
Whats goin on? I wanted to know what computer programs I should pick up for production of beats? I have Sonar and i love it, but I want a program that I could buy and make some grimmy bass lines with. I got the cash, if you could slide a few names for me too concider, it would be a great help. Peace
Donahue
When in doubt, contact the author
Open each program, find the help menu or "About this Program..." type menus. You will very often find a link to the program's internet home page. Write down the link, quit your audio program, and connect to it via your web browser. If you don't see a web site, you will probably find a telephone number or at least an address. At the very least, you will find the name of the authoring company. Any of these can be used to look up the appropriate information you need online or in a library at the Reference department.
Rebirth and Cubase were made by Steinberg, so you could go to <A HREF="http://steinberg.com">http://steinberg.com</A> I think, to get info. SoundForge is made by "Sonic Foundry", so you might try <A HREF="http://sonicfoundry.com">http://sonicfoundry.com</A>. I hope I spelled each of those correctly.
go give it a whirl, tony.

sync problem cubase sx ----suondblaster live
tryed everything i can think of .can you help me?????
Re: sync problem cubase sx ----suondblaster live
I've had the same problems but by going through all the options I found that you need to always work at 48Khz and have the bit rate at 16bit. I think the menu is in Edit/Preferences or something like that. It keeps re-setting every time you start a new song so I keep a template I know works and work from that for each new composition.
