Hi...here is how I do it. First of all I just bought my BR-532 and didn't get any interface with it. This is how I was told to do it and it works great! If you have recording software on your PC.(I have an old outdated Cakewalk Home Studio 9 that I got on closeout for $20) You can either use the infra-red digital output (which I don't have on my PC)or you just go from your audio outon your 532..into your sound card of your PC, via your line-in or if you don't have a line-in, through your mic connection. Then all your tracks go onto the cakewalk and from there you can mix your little heart out and convert to .wav or .mp3 and make CDs.

Hi There, The BR-532 uses those smart media cards. record your tracks to the card inside the 532. Go to a computer supply store and get one of those multi card readers.(They are cheap, about 20 dollars) simply insert the smart media card into the card reader and access it like a hard drive. I would do it this way because you dont lose any sound quality like you do with the audio outputs plugged into a crappy sound card.

I just got the new connector. After a couple of hours of screwing around, I think I've found out how to go Smartmedia card to PC / MAC and back. The instructions aren't that great, but... "Danon" has Sonar to play with, sounds like studio quality software. Check out Cakewalk.com for all their products.
Anyhow, you need to check with whomever/wherever you bought the BR 532 from and try to get the free USB / Smartmedia connector. You bought the thing, it's now standard...

I bought my BR 532 a while ago. I started asking about sending to my PC also. Now, when someone buys one the package includes a USB / Smartmedia card interface. I asked and received for free.
My problem, though, is that I want to send from computer back to Smartmedia card. One of my cards has an error on it, and I one unfinshed song is the result. I thought that I could fix, once I had it on a new card. So far, no good.

Im new at this digital recording stuff too, but I have had good experience with this. I record all the tracks I need on my BR532, then I have a friend with a sonar recording program. He has downloaded from the bossus.com websit the br532 wavefile download, we remove my smartmedia card and use a card reader to remove the tracks from the card. He then uses his program to pull the tracks we want off the card and from there we can make them stereo , adjust the eq,and add effects. I relize that if you already have a recording program on your computer why would you want to mess with this? But I dont have the capability to record on my computer and this way I can do all my recording at home and still have a great mastered , mixed finished product. To my knowledge there is no way to connect your br532 to your computer direct. If nothing else I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck!

Hey there Andy, a great idea. here's a few ideas from my own experience...

I will always say, GO UNDERGROUND. There are MANY youth groups in churches that will be more than willing to come over to your home to take a few recording passes. Not to mention there are quite a few bands that would love to work on a project like that. The most important thing is to work with people who are willing, NOT people who could care less, or feel that they are a name to be reckoned with, and might feel you are beneath them... SCREW THAT.

I myself have done vocal group remixes, and Harmonica group remixes (FUN!). Sometimes there are people you have never suspected to be interested who are PERFECT for the job. There are a lot of vocal groups out there with very elderly people... Keep an open mind and work on something ORIGINAL!!!

How to burn .mpga format songs

I have .mpga songs. How to burn them on to a cd. Or how to convert .mpga format to .mp3 format. I renamed the file .mp3 but i could not able to burn it. Any help is appreciated.

mixed cd's

i have mixed up some tunes and put them onto the computer to put onto CD. Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to put tabs into the mix so that i can select different tracks once on cd.

Yes we've always put in a lot of work to get rid of these posts, but over the last couple of months two new
tactics have prove quite successful...

We changed the wording of our warning message as it
turned out that it was inadvertantly attracting people
from search engines because they were finding the
relevant words (which i'm not going to post but you
know what they are) in the link to the warning message
itself.

The other thing is that we have been emailing people
who post these messages, and in some very bad cases
we've emailed their ISPs -we don't like to do this but
when someone keeps doing it after they've been asked
not to then we don't have much choice.

The first idea was one posted in this forum, and as
always if anyone has any ideas for improving this forum
please post them here.

I noticed the drop off which is good. Thought I would take a different angle. I know that not acknowledging them is probably the way to go although I think people that chance in here might get the picture from some of our posts objecting to them. It's a great improvement though...;0))

Hello Justin,

That is an unfortunately common misconception.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act applies in the USA
until such time as a court ruling says it is in
conflict with the constitution.

The Act effectively states that you can't do anything
to circumnavigate a copy protection mechanism - which
is exactly what a crack does.

Furthermore the USA constitution does not apply outside
the USA so we a subject to the laws of many other
countries, not the least of which is Australia where
there is no basic constitutional right to freedom of
speech outside the federal electoral process, and where
the Digital Rights Amendment Bill contains the same
language as the law in the USA.

If you intend a career in music I'd suggest you learn
a little more about copyright law.
