Thank you for responding to my question. What you say is perfectly correct, but does not answer the question of the getting the digital data directly from the mini-disc player to the PC's hard-disc without having to convert in into analogue and then to digital again. Also, as far as I can see there is no facility in CoolEdit for inporting SPDIF data.
