(midi) Power Tracks
Hi. I just installed Power Tracks Version 7 from the c.d. recently. My midi box is empty when I open it up from power tracks. I want to do some recording.

MPC 3000 files to CD
Does anyone have a technique for Converting MPC3000 formatted Zip floppies to CDs? I have each cartridge partioned into four or more parts A,B,C,D etc.
Any ideas? sorry for the spelling %)

Hey folks!
There are tons of great programs out there, but there's no help on how to program them ourselves!!! I need to incorporate a basic calculator in an application , but I don't wanna use an outside program. Could anybody tell how to program a simple beat meter in C++ on a windows platform? it should be simple enough but signal processing is not my speciality...

I just got a speaker system for my computer
I just got a system for my computer(two speakers and a sub) on my mixer it doesn't have any bass or treble control, what software or audio driver should I use?

for mp3/wav files use Winamp it has a nice big EQ section. U should be able to set it up to play cds too.

Joining of multiple wave files into a single
I need to join multiple wave files and save it in a single file and play the single file.
How do i join multiple wave files through Visual Basic or winAPI ?
ex.: (1.wav+2.wav+3.wav+... = Joined.wav)

easy cd creator
had to uninstall and then reinstall easy cd creator and direct cd with windows ME but get error message saying could not create engine,i have tried 4 times this process and keep getting same message,had all programs shut down at the time and completely remove any adaptec files,still no good

I had problems with cd creator 5...My suggestion to you would be, go the site of the software vendor. They have a good trobleshooting page for error messages. The maker of the software is at www.roxio.com Hope you find answers....

If i live On the rich West i would go to shop to buy
software.It is so confortable.
In a countru where I live ,we have no money to buy electricity to get warm on winter.
All money we gave to food and medicine.
Only luxury is weak Computer.

That's still not a good enough reason to steal software. If everyone
did it, nobody would bother writing anything and the amount of software
would steadily dwindle to nothing.
(If you have no electricity, what does your computer run on?)

I don't agree with piracy either, but the troll raises a point. A US$20 program isn't necessarily cheap. It depends on where you live and how much you earn.

here's a good reason to steal software - the evaluation copies you can get are shit, take propellerheads' Reason for example, the demo version has a ridiculous time limit, how are you supposed to work out if you want to fork out that much money if you can only play with it for 10 minutes before it shuts off and you have to start again? Thats why the crack is good - so far all i've seen is a crack for the time limit, save is still disabled - so anyone who was seriously considering buying the software would still have to buy it (and even if the save was enabled, you still miss out on the sounds cd). So CCS or whatever you call yourselves (the guys who are spying on us) here's something for you - I admit to using a crack for the reason demo to disable the time limit...which let me REALLY evaluate the program, which led to me buying it. So there.
Digital REcording Set UP
I pastor a church and would like to record our services to the hard drive of a computer. I've been told that it would be more efficient for editing.
Speaking and Music is what we'll be recording. What hardware and software will we need to beging with?

I would recommend against using a computer for this. Not only is it more likely
to go wrong, it also means moving a large piece of equipment around. A better
bet would be to use a good quality tape deck (DAT is better) and record onto tape
first. Then you can transfer it to the computer for editing.
If you still want to go the computer route, you'll need a good sound recording
program (Cool Edit or similar) and very good microphone(s).

DSP = Digital Sound Processing.
Basically, a DSP unit does digitally what you used to use
pedals and such like for in the past. So, whereas before you'd
have echo machines, flangers, wah-wah pedals and so on, a DSP
does all this by digital modification.

Effects processors
I'm looking for an effects processor that can receive 8(or more) seperet tracks of audio and assign a different effect to each track. I've been searching around on the internet and reading product specs, but I don't really know what to look for. If anyone knows of a processor like this, or what the specs would say if it had this capability (or both), please respond.

My mixer isn't responding (functionally) to my record despite the unit showing power reaction. I changed all the components (i.e. turntable, rca inputs, etc.) to see the prob. -- and i've concluded that it must be the mixer input ends. What should I do?
Nothing seems to happen when I try to play WMA files
Every WMA file that I try to play, doesn't work. It just says "BUFFERING" the whole time but nothing ever happens. It used to work. I have tried files that used to work that I've heard a million times, but nothing. I've gone to many different websites and still nothing. On some files it "finishes" buffering and just says "ready", but when I press play it just starts buffering again. It just happened one day when I got home; I didn't do anything unusual either. Please help if you can.
Cubase Questions
I have downloaded the Cubase VST Demo, and I am wondering how do I install other VST Instruments into it?
I am not sure if this is allowed in the demo version!? But I was told Cubase is the program to get and then I have been hearing a lot about the VST Instruments that can be added. So I wanted to give it a try!
But I am so clueless on how to get the other instruments setup or installed (Where do I go?), does the demo come with demos of some VST Instruments already installed (How do I setup and use these?) and what do I need to controll the instruments (an midi keyboard or something?) I was under the inpression that I did not need any hardware (am I wrong?).
For instance if there is an VST Drum machine (is there?) how would I set it up and play?
If anyone can recommend a book or a site for Cubase newbie help I would greatly appreciate it!!!

as far as I know, such a thing would not be possible - doesnt the xm format store information about the tracks and instruments in the song, which couldn't be recovered from those other formats
Breaking up a mix into multiple tracks.
My problem: As a Novice DJ, I can basically record a whole mix on to my hard drive. To burn on to a CD, I would like to break that one mix into multiple tracks. Is there software that does this. Right now I Copy & paste, but that takes for ever & leaves gaps between tracks on ocassions. I would appreciate any help.

well...im aiming 4 that too....i write my own songs, and i sing too. my influences are blink-182, simple plan, avril lavigne, no doubt, sum41, and a couple others too.
i dont know exactly how u can, but it will take a few years, you need to practice your voice, and if you wanna play an instrument, practice that too.
write songs, have them looked over by friends, family, and family friends...see if they like them. sing in church (if ya go 2 one) in a choir, @ festivals, or carnivals. (i haven't yet...)
MOST OF ALL: Have confdence in yourself, don't care what other people think of you...how u dress, how u act, or what u say, or how ur voice sounds. (I am still working on that one...having confidence) (lol)
create a demo, then send it to a record label...they might nopt even listen 2 it...but they will eventually it might take a couple of months. then thats all I know then u r on ur own...

I think they lyrics of <a href="http://www.tism.com.au/lyrics/derigueurmortis.html">'If You're Not Famous At Fourteen, You're Finished'</a> make a lot of sense.
But, seriously, no one here is going to be able to help you. You're going to have to do a lot of hard work yourself. You're going to need management and you'll have to read a lot of <a href="http://www.musiciansbooks.com/">books</a> on how the business works. You'll need great material and a 'look'.
If you want to make a living from singing, I think you can do that (if you can sing) with a lot of hard work and planning . But, as for fame, I think you've got as much chance of that as I do. It's a long way to the top, but the fall is fast. Just sing and enjoy life.

You're gonna need a lot tougher attitude than you've got to make in the music business. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than to be "discovered". Two things you need to be a singer are a pa system with a good microphone, and a way to record what you do so other people can hear your music. Good Luck!

I also watch britney spears and them on tv and learn there dance moves so I am I good dancer and I learn fast These things have to do with music and dancing so I guess I have a little of expierence but I never been to a talent show or travel to other places for auditions cuz I am soo busy with school I don't even take dancing lessons but I am planning to take lessons for all the things I need for becoming a singer .But I have a pretty good chance of being a singer.
