I recorded a saxophonist in a bedroom in a shared house once and surrounded him with his own mattress. We stood the mattress up and cornered him in the corner of the room. I stuck a microphone in there and the results were suprisingly good, (with some reverb and compression). I wouldn't have said that this wouldn't be heard in the next room by the neighbours but it certainly helped...

I don't know any wat of 'shutting yourself' audibly from the outside world other than to either increase your distance from it or seperate yourself from it with as many materials between you and it as possible, Remember, High frequencies travel far if unhindered, but die quickly when they have to travel through poreous/absorbant surfaces whereas low frequencies will move walls and foundations. Grab a couple of mattresses and cover yourself them. It will help, al little... ;0)

The problem is that you can't just move the folder, since all registry entries
will still refer to the original location. Cybermedia Uninstaller is allegedly
capable of moving software to different drives and modifying registry entries,
but I've never tried it.

If you no longer have the original CD that the program came on, then it's going
to be tricky.

I use my midi soundfonts on Cubasis, it's wicked easy once you get the hand of loading the files, etc.

You have use CDDB service (mean enable it if available) in the options/preferences section in your software. But if it's a deck system, your player must be compatible with CD-Text feature which display current track name (and other detailed info recorded onto CD), but be sure that you'r using original not the recorded ones onto CD-R.

Do you mean on a PC CD-ROM or a separate CD player?

16MB should be enough for a 128Kbps MP3 that goes for around 15 minutes! Most emailboxes only allow you to send attachments of up to a certain size, usually around 5MB. This is to save bandwidth and stop emailbombers.

I don't use AOL so I can't really guess at what AOL does. But you're going to have problems like this if you email large files of any kind. Try uploading your file to a free web server and then let people download the file from there.

That would depend on a lot of things. Muting something completely is soo hard to do. It depends so much on what sort of sound source it is.. How loud it is... It's almost impossible to guess what you might be wanting to mute...
