:My computer slowed down because to many people were downloading from my files. How can I prevent this? Thank you.

Hi! I have a problem with Winmx about downloading files. My connection or my modem speed is 33.6 and whenever i try to download something it takes a while to start downloading and when downloading does commence, in most cases it doesn't, the speed is extremely slow (.2kbps etc.) !!!!!!!! Even for my modem this is extrely slow. I am with telstra bigpond in Australia and telstra is the fastest ISP in Australia. BUt why is the connection so slow?? Have done something wrong after installation?? please let me know, thanks very much for your help.

You should check out Fruity Loops. Dont be put off by the name, (Craig David's drummer uses it).

There might be a demo of it on this site somewere.

Antares Acoustic Mic Modeler is a great plug-in and here to stay.

It does make cheaper mics sound like expencive mics and has a great Tube Vocal Pre-amp simmulator.

Just keep in mind that mics lake the SM-58 has a natural high frequency distortion which obviously cannot be removed by the plug-in if you set it to a higher quality mic, but it still sounds better.

use audio galaxy its 100 times better
down load nothing with a birate of less than 128
now get music match jukebox
go to file-encode
select the mp3 and encode them at 256 birate
after you have converted all your mp3 to 256
get disc juggler and select pr-master cd
move your mp3's to the open cd and when your ready click start
thats it....your cd is now ready to play in your car or home stereo

Try slowing down the write speed. Audio files are more sensitive than other data files. I find that a write speed of 2X is the fastest speed I can depend on for audio.

: When I record a CD from files already on my harddisk, It will skip the odd time, and then close the session. Thus, ruining the CD.

Only certain souncards support the ability to have multiple cards in one computer. The problem is that they have to recognise each other so they can sync together. Most pro soundcards now support this but check to be sure.
Thing is though, more soundcards don't let you play more soft synths unless the soundcard has some dsp (digital signal processing) capablity itself and these can be quite pricey (like the creamware cards and Kork's Oasis). Unless the cards has the dsp chips, then all the processing for the soft synth is still handled by your cpu.
Also, there is no need to record on soundcard into the other. If you are running you softsynth under a DAW like Cubase or Cakewalk you can export the softsynth parts as a .wav file and then re-import this to the sequencer. This is a good way to cut down on needed processing power. Just export each softsynth part sepatately and use the created wav to replace the midi parts playing the softsynth. Since the sound is now streaming straight from your harddisk, the pc isn't having to create the sound itself.
It might be more ecconomical if you just brough a new motherboard and processor. I had my machine custom build and got a soltek motherboard with a 1.3ghz AMD processor for about £160 (UK). Cheaper than another soundcard and so far its haddling loads of softsyths and vst effects quite happily.

It works on the pro-tools free system if you don't have pro-tools already (go to digidesign.com)and there is a 30 day full feature demo at the website above.

The time strech function is amazing in fact the whole plugin is amazing, very very simple to use etc etc.

It really is the best in the world at what it does.
