CD Duplication

When using Toast 5.02 and the Quicksilver 733 mhz G4 to make duplicates of music CDs, I find that unless the original CD surfaces are PERFECT, I get garbled copies. Any solutions? Thanks

There is a spinwheel on the SP-505 for adjustment up to 100 bps.

mp3 grouppie decoding

Do any mp3 grouppie users have a problem decoding longer pieces of music? I only seem to be able to get music up to 10:37 in length, even though I get all the parts. It seems to be a decoding problem.

WINDOWS ME IS RIDDLED WITH BUGS, GO BACK TO WIN98se thats what I use with Cubase. Also cubase has alot of bugs but the CD works better than any of the "r" versions including r7.

i am having same problems with windows 98SE. i keep getting an error message saying "setupmme.exe" is corrupted. no matter what i do, i can't run r6 or r5! help???

It seems that most musicians are going back to WIN98 SE. This seems the most stable for audio.
A lot of music software just doesnt like WIN2000/WIN ME.

I just got an imac09, and I was told that the computer already has everything it needs to hold song downloads, and burn cd's built into the computer. I do not understand where I can download the songs online, and nothing I have downloaded or tried has worked!! Can someone please help me to figure out what I am doing wrong?

Is it true (or am I just stupid) that it is impossible to edit the text (for lyrics) once I have typed them in? The Delete button seems to be disabled in the text boxes.

Morpheus/Clone CD

The best way to answer your questions is to try these programs out yourself. Morpheus and KaZaa have replaced Napster as you will see on any sites download charts.

There is no freeware version of CloneCD.

Does anyone know what a good music software or machines are available for making mixed cd's. I've used a few a always have the same problem, I'm a Disc jockey and want to transfer minidisc to cd to promot my dj'ing skills, but I need the cd to be in the mixed with the tracks separated and everytime I try to do this, they ends up being a little gap between the mixed, but I need the mixes to be continous to highlight my dj's skill as I said before. Is there anyone out there who can give me advice, please e-mail me. Thank you!

you need to change the preferences

by default in most programs it is set to 2 seconds, you need to go to the preferences and change it to 0

The Apply function in the Master Section allows you to "mix down" the whole Montage (or sections of it) to a single audio file. This is useful both for creating a final mix, and for "pre-mixing" Clips (you may for example have a number of Clips to which you want to apply the same effects, etc). Proceed as follows:

1 If you want to mix down the whole Montage from start to end, proceed to step 4.

2 If you want to mix down some of the Clips only, select these.
3 If instead you want to mix down a certain section of the Montage only (on several Tracks), make a selection range.

Note that although the selection range is only "horizontal", audio on all Tracks within the range will be included.

4 If necessary, mute or unmute Tracks or Clips.

Only unmuted audio will be included in the mixdown file!

5 Click the Apply button in the Master Section window.

The Process Preferences dialog appears.

6 Use the radio buttons in the Range section to specify what you want to include in the created file.

The Time Selection and Selected Clips options will only be available if you made a selection range or selected Clips, respectively (in step 2 and 3 above).

LiveWare on Windows ME

Hi,

I managed to install Live!Ware 3.0 on my system which runs on Windows ME. Since I installed Creative Labs Music Interface and SoundBlaster Live!Value (some of the components of Live!Ware 3.0), my whole system grinds to a halt after 2-3 hours. I also notice the time on my system starts regressing until it's about 2 hours behind normal time.
Has anyone experienced this and how can it be fixed?

Check out <a href="/smm/programs/TiMidity_win32/">TiMidity++</a> (Freeware) and <a href="/smm/programs/WAVmaker_for_Windows/">WAVmaker III</a> (Shareware). You would have to purchase a license to make your Demo a full version.

Layla 24 spdif output problem

Dear sir:
I have a home studio, and used, at the last 3 years, my GINA audio card
whitout any problem. I am very glad with GINA, and now, I upgrade to
LAYLA-24.
I have an ALESIS ADAT and a SONY A7 DAT recorder (consumer).
If I check Layla:
Analog ins and outs: OK
Adat ins and outs: OK.
Spdif ins (rca and optical) from dat: OK
Spdif out (rca and optical) to dat: bad

I set consumer connection to dat.(with Gina is OK)
Now, when I set internal clock whith spdif out, there are in the Layla mixer a signal loop in the spdif input, and no transmit any signal.
If I set spdif clock, stops the loop but Layla no send signal too.

Then, I install GINA and the spdif out is OK.
I think that the Sony dat is not the problem.
I use Windows ME ,Pentium 3, 800mhz, Sound Forge 4.5 and Cakewalk 9.03
I use the latest driver 5.56
If you have a solution, please send me it.

OK, I'm a PC moron, let's get that out of the way right now.... I downloaded Traktor to replace Windows Media Player and Destiny. Problem: It won't play anything saved as a Destiny type MP3 file. How do I "un-Destiny" these MP3's? Where's the default? And, every time I try to rip CD tracks, the same thing happens: Traktor won't recognize it. Help, help....

try uninstalling Destiny it must be hogging mp3 file associations.

*.au is a type of wav file. I havent tried but it should be pretty simple to get a program that converts to wav which should be able to do either .au or .wav
