u don't need any music hardware except a controller keyboard. I'd advise u to upgrade yer computer to a 500MHz or more + 256MB RAM. Then get the best drum/bass maker FruityLoops $100 plus an audio sequencer like Cubase or something designed for samples like Acid. Look around + try the demos is the best place to start.

Try Cool Edit for recording stereo tracks. You can add effects, slice, dice, rearrange, just about anything you can think of and a few you never thought of.

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that. It really depends on what you want to do.

A friend has given me a Midiman 2044 sound card...only problem is, Midiman doesn't make a driver for my Mac (they make one for the beige G3 only)...are there any industrious programmers out there who make such a driver that isn't officially supported by Midiman?

Adeptec problems

If anyone could help me with a problem that I'm having with Adeptec. My program, Easy Creator 4.0, isn't burning any of the CD's nor is it copying any of the music I put in it. I need the website for this so I can fix it.

You need to check what version of windows you are using. If it is 2000 or NT you may need to get a patch to solve the problem.

whenever i try to write a CD with Easy CD Creator, i get a message that says that my CD writer is being used by Adaptec CD Direct. Any ideas how to get out of that?

I had this problem. Easy CD Creator went through the motions of writing the CD, but there was nothing on the CD when it had finished. Roxio, who own the Adaptec stuff now, had nothing on their site. Eventually, I wiped my disc clean and reinstalled everything. Since then I've had no problems (except it doesn't like TDK CD-R, it prefers Maxell)

yep, try cooledit 2000 or any other ver. Load a wav and play around with 'strech' function :)

Well, it depends on exactly what you are doing. Do you want to alter the BPM of a sample or a song? I just do it with samples and use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SonicFoundryAcid/">ACID</a>. There will be stuff for you on the site. Just go to the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/RE-MIXING_DJ/">REMIX/DJ section</a> of the site. I found <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/EZtimeStretch/">this</a> there.

I've been out and about many of times through out the past few years. Haven't had a lot of time to forcus on music whether it was making it or getting someone who already does it get started. Due to being in a medical program for school it left me with little time. Now with my schedule openning up I have time and was looking for ideas on how to be successful in this. Time recording

Yes, there is. It is called MPEG-suite. It is freeware on some sites. I found it on:
