LP to CD Software

What is the best software available to salvage beloved LP's to CD format either shareware or purchase package

I recommend RIP Vinyl...which you can download from any of the shareware web sites (e.g. http://www.zdnet.com/) It only costs $7.00 and does a great job with splitting the wave file form an LP recording into separate sound wave (track) files.

Re: LP to CD Software

: I recommend "audiotools" for recording. It also has other filtering & noise reduction features. The easiest to use noise & click reduction program is "groovemechanic", "depopper" is also worth a try. I have had much success with all these programs, to burn the wav files to CD I use Easy CD Creator, which was packaged free with my CD burner. It's a very time consuming pastime but worth it in the end. Cooledit is also very useful.

Choosing a programing language for music apps

I have a music background and a computer background and would like to start integrating the two. What's the best programing language for either a PC or a Mac to write music applications? Is there a repository or book of some sort with public domain source code and/or algorithms for commonly used applications? I'm especially interested in studying a few good tuner algorithms.

I don't know about other languages or public domain code, but delphi(pascal vcl) has an optimized data type for containing chords and keys: set of 1..12. It can play WAV files but that hoggs memory (I'm trying to find another way). Guitarsite.com has a link to chord generating C code which can be used with Delphi

Re: HOW DO I BURN CD+G (KAREOKE) CD'S

Must be a very popular question. I have an iomega burner, cdrwin, and mp3+g Toolz. I am having trouble figuring out if I have to have a virtual drive or if I can bypass it. Do I need more software? Please let me know. Thanks.

ASPI compliance with windows 2000

I was using adio catalyst as a cd ripper. I've recently changed to windows 2000 O/S. Audio catalyst does not support ASPI for ripping with 2000. In fact all audio catalyst can support is analog ripping. What ripping software can I use so that I don't have to use analog.

Re: ASPI compliance with windows 2000

Use the aspi driver from Nero (www.ahead.de)

Re: ASPI compliance with windows 2000

Down Load aspi32.exe from where ever or go here. Very simple to fix this problem...

ASPI without an adeptec product....???

sure thats simple and its true but it seems that if u do not have an adaptec piece of hardware in yoyur system than it wont and cant work... if u know anything let me know..

Re: ASPI compliance with windows 2000

Audio Catalyst does support ASPI in any OS. It is the OS that doesn't support ASPI. windows 2000 doesn't support it. There are some files that you can download that will let it support it. I would suggest that you dual boot ME or 98 and use that one when you want to rip CD's. i have this same problem and there are a bunch of CD's that i want to rip

Re: ASPI compliance with windows 2000

Dual boot? Why not just copy the aspi dll to your windows directory? Its really not *that* hard!

FREE CD Ripper For Windows 2000

Get CDex. Not only does it have all the features of AudioCatalyst, but it's MUCH faster (it rips straight to MP3) and it's FREE! It's designed to work for Windows 2000 and does not require ASPI.

Re: ASPI compliance with windows 2000

I have succesfully used Nero v5 for ripping under Windows 2000 but it has not got any MP3 compression capability.

EXS24 Problem

I cannot get my EXS24 installed. I have a PC, win98, LA Platinum. After opening the audio object an selecting the EXS24, the system asks for the CD to install the EXS24 (which has already been installed) and then nothing happens. Do you know how to solve this problem? How does one turn on an audio object? Sometimes they are off. Why? Thanks for your attention

Ulf

Re: EXS24 Problem

Hi...

I just got the exs24 today and had the same problem. Eventually, i JUST KEPT TAKING THE DISK OUT AND RE-INSERTING IT. Finally, Logic just said "Checking Disc" and everything was cool. It took, like, six tries now.

Now...I can't get the sample editor to work on the imported samples. Also, I would like to use WAVELAB as my wave editor...but I don't know how to get it to edit Logic waves...I know it can be done, though.

Hope that helps.
