You would probably prefer mp3...
AVI's take up a lot more space, with very little
improvement in sound quality, if any at all.

get a good WAV recorder or AIFF recorder
from a freeware website, then get a freeware
program to convert from WAV to mp3.

i suggest this, because a good WAV program has
many good functions, while an mp3 encoder usually
just does one thing.

the converter program will also be able to convert
to many other formats, so you will have even more
reasons to do that.

Just let your fingers do the walking.

tried Soundhack?

Unless your samples use some weird data compression,
this should work for you.

1) download soundhack (now freeware!)
2) open your files using "Open Any" in the File Menu.
3) Mess with the Header Change utility until things
sound right.
4) save file

I don't remember if you can save as AIFF in Soundhack,
but if not it will be something like SDII that you
can easily convert with Peak or Soundedit or whatever.

I'm having the same problem with Protools free and an Athlon 700 processor. I think the problem may have something to do with the sound card. I'm using a cheap ensoniq (sound blaster) card. What do you have?

probably yes, i would guess...
and make sure that all files have simple, DOS
names... many keyboards can only import PC
files if they are named like DOS PC files...

i doubt that any CD player is any more sophisticated
than the type of keyboards i am referring to...
except some advanced hybrid players which probably
have enough brainpower to suck the songs right
out of your brain and convert them to HDTV.

of course, i digress,,,

I had same problem too, try this.
Open your mixer window and disable Record: Synth

Try slowing down the copy speed one notch. Also, listen to the wave files to be sure there is something there before you burn.

If your software is showing a successful write, then you may have a problem with configuration if you have a CD-ROM drive and a CD-RW drive both installed. My CD-RW will not replay a newly made CD for some reason (edit software shows it playing but no sound) but the CD-ROM drive and all CD players play it fine. Try the CD-R in another drive or CD player before you put your beer on it.

I haven't used the 1010, but i have a Delta Dio 2496.
I also have a multimixer 6 and a flying calf AD.

Overall, i really enjoy and appreciate MIDIMAN.
The only things i hate are that the drivers they
supplied with my 2496 seem to be partially old.

the 2496 can do 24bits, 96kHz, but the driver CD
is confusing enough because it doesn't even really
list the Dio 2496.

Nevertheless it works real well, and i think the
old drivers might actually be compatible with
the new hardware. i think there is some generic
driver use going on.

However, it would be much more reassuring to know
for sure if i am actually recording at 24bits 96kHz
or just being tricked by software which simulates it
enough to be ok.

I also resent the it's all labeled as MIDIMAN
stuff, but all of the tech support seems to be
M-Audio... what the heck?

Again, though, i haven't used the product you
mention,...

and i am extremely happy with all MIDIMAN products
because the work VERY well and MOSTLY do what they say.
They make really tiny stuff, too.
