U110 patch map

Got an old "vintage" U110 sound module from Roland, i would like to use
patch command from my sequencer program but it doesn't work. The U110 is of course not in the list
of (patch mapping) devices of my sequencer (cake or cubase or dop). Is there somebody who have
the *.ins file for the u110. It seems it doesn't react to the patch (sound) changes anyway.

mp3 burning

I recieved an mptrip that plays mp3s burned on cd, but does anyone know software that will burn the mp3s in a certain order? Adaptac recognizes them only as files and puts in random order.

cpu's and recording software

I've heard that there are some conflicts with Athlon cpu's and recording software. Should I get a computer based with Intel, or will the Athlon run fine? I can run Cubase, Cakewalk, or Logic Audio. I'm mainly interrested in the Athlon 1Ghz because I can get a great deal on it!!

actually it depends-

impretty sure youll be fine with an athlon.
ive heard that lots of people use them with no problems.

the athlon(k-7) is generallty thought to be a superior chip than the pentium 3.and perhaps some troubles users have had goes beyond wich cpu they use.

im pretty sure cubase,cakewalk,and logic will all work quite well with your blazing fast athlon

for cubase sniff around at www.cubase.net
there are user forums there that go into detail on this matter

I would like to know if there is any software that works in conjunction with a electronic keyboard that would be usefull for introducing my sons to piano basics. I'm looking for software that would be easy to use and usable by someone who also does not know how to play.

You can learn to read music with this set up but you need to study technique to learn to play. Without a teacher available your best bet is to find some books. Your kids need to learn how to use fingers, wrists, arms, and body correctly. A good teacher can insure this.

Check out MusicGoals by Eye & Ear at www.musicgoals.com. Anyone can learn to learn to read notes quickly with this program for Windows.

I just bought Logic Audio Platnum 3.7 and a PCI Audiowerks8 card from eBay. The guy lost the manuals. I think that the audiocard is working (I get sound out) but I'm lost with Logic. Any poing in shopping for an old user's manual, or do I chalk this up to experience?

good luck...logic is confusing enough WITH the manuals. go to this web page...its on their site. it has publications..and if what you need isnt there look around you can probably find something that will help: (copy this and paste it in your address bar, then hit enter)

it has to be said though, for musicians logic is the best program in my opinion. The interface is so much easier than cubase/cakewalk...et al.

Thanks Kipper for the information. I guess that I need more than I can get from the site. I hope that I can find a used Logic 3.7 manual, though perhaps a new manual that covers 4.5 would serve me just as well??

I've used Sibelius for composition, but I'm ready to try audio recording. I just hope that Logic is the right program to learn. Snowi does well in relieving my anxiety.

Can`t use JV-1010 with OMS(MAC)

sound diver to save the patch ;but nothing comes out at the new device option .
I wonder if there is a simple way to make/get the patch for OMS ,or I have did something wrong to solve the problem?

Cakewalk and Plugin/DX Wrapper Problems

I want to start using plug-in effects and instruments but they are all grayed out, at first I thought this was because DirectX was not installed but installing the app didn't make any difference.

All plugins are unavailable even Cakewalk effects are unavailable. Does anyone know how to sort this out. Whay don't I just use Cubase? I don't like it as much as Cakewalk.

I'm using Cakewal Pro Audio V7.

i create my own mix cds using mixmeister 2.2 but this program lacks a pitch control to adjust the BPM of a track so i need a program that will pitch up the whole track then allow me to export the speeded up version. Any ideas kids?

you need to TIME COMPRESS EXPAND to speed up or slow down a loop/sample .youll find this in an audio editor like sound forge.

How to standarlise a mpeg file volume?

You will need to normalize the file. You can do this using <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a>.

Ive ripped all my CDs onto my computer using Real Jukebox, they were saved as RMX (realsystems secure media clip), my new CD burner will only except the formats of MP3 and WAV, is therea program that will convert these files for me, or will I have to individualy record them using a WAV Live recorder?

Lozy,
From your playlist, right click on any song, then right click "save track as". A dialog box will come up and on the right side, you can specify what format, bitrate etc. you want to save the track in. When you have selected the options you want, click OK and Real Jukebox will do the conversion for you. If you want to do multiple tracks, click on the first one from your playlist, then shift-click on the last one, then follow the same procedure.
It may crash on you if you try to do too many at one time (at least that's been my experience).
