adaptec easy creator problem

i just bought an acer cd writer it came with the program adaptec easy creator 4.02 but whe i go to use it the first two songs copy fine but the next song only gets 99% done and then a blue screen pops up with an error message. my operating system is windows me and i have an acer computer. i was wondering if someone could help me with this problem

Try lowering the write speed to 2X. Even though writes speeds and CDs are rated for 4X or 8X, audio files often will not copy successfully and produce errors.

Try Unistall and reinstall the software.

Wow! Great idea but if you send them as MP3s please realize that they will probably end up annoying a few of your recipients as the email could be several megabytes at least.

It's possible to do, but be careful about who you mail to.

Digital Audio

I am contacting you to see if you can help me find a way to take a lot of cassette tapes and convert them over to a pc in digital form. I have the skills and computer with software. What I am looking for is something like a cassette duplicator that will play a cassette in fast mode and be able to record that signal on the pc. Instead of taking a 90 min tape and taking 90 minutes a cassette duplicator will copy a tape in 90 sec. Is there anything out there that you are aware of that would help me accomplish my goal of over 1000 cassette tapes that I have recorded I want to convert over to Digital. If you are not aware of any do you know anyone that I may contact that may know. Thanks very much for a little time on my research on this Massive project.

Roland Sound Canvas SC55

I used the wrong mains adapter by mistake and it seems to have blown my sound canvas.
I thought there might be an anti-surge fuse but there is none.
Is there an obvious solution to repair it or is it dead.

Interface Design

Dear all,

At Leeds Metropolitan University, we are examining the effects of user interface design upon creativity

with music software. The study examines how ease of use can have positive and sometimes negative

effects on creativity and originality. The questionnaire also contains specific questions regarding

four pieces of software Acid, Fruityloops, Orion, Rebirth and Reason. You do not need to have used all

pieces of software in order to take part even if you have only used one, your opinions will very highly

useful.

Rest assured that once your responses have been received, all links between your name and your reply can

be removed. However, all respondents will be credited at the end of the paper, including URLs of your

music and/or software development if desired. It's entirely up to you whether your name appears on the

final report.

If you are active musician I will be more than happy to listen to your work, since this will be

invaluable in understanding your musical ways of working. Of course, if the music is of a high quality,

I will also tell all my friends about it too!

All participants will be welcome to share in the results of the study when it is completed around June

2000, a copy will be sent if indicated on the questionnaire

CD Catalog Software

Capturing music from RAM

I have a free downloaded screensaver which has music embedded in the .scr file that I would like to capture and save to a .wav file. I tried Total Recorder 3.0.1, but it treats the music as "unknown source" and limits the recorded content to 40 seconds. Is there a software package I can purchase that will let me record music from RAM without a limit on the length of the recording?

computer to reciever

I have my sony 100 watt reciever hooked up to my computer by cutting a audio wire ( the kind u use to connect a outside cd player) in half and then connecting it to a instrumental cord and then using a headphone thing to get it to the correct size connected it to my computer. It works good but their is a buzz. Is their another way I can do this?

Get a video jack/the kind you use to hook up a VCR or CD player but, get only a 2 ended one(6ft should do)and the other end should be a jack. Put the two ended side into your reciever on video1 or video2 or aux/tv and then put the jack end into your audio in the back of your computer.....after this you turn on your reciever and hit whichever button that coresponds to where you put the video jacks and voila
If it buzzes/this means you can only have the stereo plugged in alone, you can't have any other speakers or headphones connected by say,an adapter to recieve more than one adio source unless it is hooked up to the reciever.

MIDI performance modeling

Does anyone know of a program for a Mac that can take a MIDI sequence and "model" it in a particular feel with certain velocity, rhythmic and pitch variations as a real human would play it? The quantization feature found on any high-end sequencer is a poor substitute. I know of the NTONYX Stylizer 1.0 which is for PC.

Cakewalk ProAudio 8

I have Cakewalk and a problem. I don't want program cakewalk to play my keyboards. I want cakewalk to play instruments that are saved within files in my computer. For instance, I have sample cds like "1000 vintage synth sounds". I take the wav file, manipulate it to my ears' content, but what do I save it as and how do I use the saved file as an instrument in cakewalk. I'm nearly bald from trying to figure this out. help

motherboard mounted soundcards

I and several of my friends have soundcards built in to the motherboard of our CPUs. Will there be a problem installing a better card in one of the remaining slots? I have thought that maybe uninstalling the built in sound cards drivers may stop the CPU sending anything to the old card thereby making way for the new card. Is this true?

Just enter the SETUP and disable the "built in" soundcard before you install the new card.

Convert MPEG-2 directly to MPEG-3: impossible?

Hi all,
probably already answered question, but I get lost in the bushes everytime. Too much info, for a head of only 4000cm3.
Problem: both my burningprograms (Nero & Feurio) don't recognize MPEG-2 files. I want to burn half of my computermemory (taken by MPEG-files) onto CD, but get lagged all the time.
Software suggestions anyone? Converter or so? Impossible? Extract to .wav and make it MP3 or so?

Convert Napster MP3 Karaoke files to CD+G

I have been trying to create karaoke CDs from Napster Karaoke MP3 files, but am only able to get the audio portion, no lyrics. I have a Plextor 8432 CD Writer, and Disc Juggler software from Padus, that has allowed me to copy CD+Gs very successfully. Does anyone know if the Napster Karaoke files really have lyrics, or do they have to be added? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Cubasis VST

I have a cd of Cubasis VST from a Soundblaster Live!
box and a delta 44 sound card.
When I start Cubasis, the program says it only works with the Soundblaster Live!
Is there any way around that.
So I can use it with my new card.

I'm pretty new to this and I just want to know if there's a software which I can use to differentiate the different types of sounds in a song.
Example: Only listening to the guitar playing in a song. This is to help me learn how to play the guitar bits on the song. Please reply me, I'm desperate for such a software. Thank You.

you can try and isolate the guitar with eq to make it stand out but to totally isolate it you need the master tapes amigo!

digital audio transfer from Mac to PC

I'm trying to convert some aif files recorded on a high-powered Mac into something I can edit on a PC (also pretty high-end machine). The problem is that the files play fine on the Mac, but on the PC there's lots of static/white noise. I have tried transfering the aif file via CD-R and as an email attachment and the result is the same, so it's not an issue of CD-R quality. Anybody have any ideas of what's going on?

I've recently seen this on two of my computers at home as well. I don't know what this is either, but I did have a virus that reaked havoc on two of the three computers I have at home. I am now in the process or reinstalling the whole operating system to see possibly if a file got infected, or the registry got messed up some how.

Is there a piece of software available, whether it is shareware or to be purchased, that will allow regular midi files to be recognized by the kawai q80 sequencer or the yamaha rx-7 rhythm programmer. Both of the units use song file type (.sng).

I think this software only manipulates the files in the q80 format, but does not convert midi to q80. If I am wrong, please let me know.
