Getting software to Recognize 80min CD-R's

Does anyone have any help for me in getting my cd burning software to recognize 80min CD'R's. It will not let me go beyond 74min. ANY HELP OUT THERE? I'm using the Adaptec software.

First of all, try enabling the overburn feature.
It allows you to go beyond the standard 650 MB
other than that, you might be SOL. Your CD writers laser has to be able to go far enough out to read the CD, and from what I hear, not all of them will do that. Otherwise, it's just a software concern. Try getting the latest updates from Adaptec ( www.adaptec.com )

I've tried a few of these programs and none of them work very well. .Wav and MIDI are just too different. I have Akoff Music Composer which will do okay with one note at a time single instrument.

I also have Music Recognizer which has a built in equalizer, and Amazing MIDI which claims to be able to do polyphonic stuff, chords and all, and uses a tone sample. I haven't had very good results with it. It won't render a guitar chord.

There are several others: Sonic Ear, and I'll keep trying them because I would like to be able to do this, but my experience so far is that it really can't be done well.

YES!!!...and I'm one of them! Why not try to think up bass lines yourself instead of letting some program do it for you, and have no control over it? I honestly believe no machine will ever beat the human mind as far as musical ideas are concerned. I suggest you listen closely to all sort of bass players to get some ideas. If you really want to get the feel, get yourself a cheap second hand bassguitar and just start playing! Music is about feeling and emotion, not about pushing buttons.

1st step is:come from the sine wave of a synthe like m1 or korg
x5,sample it.After take and editor like sound forge or wavelab
,analyze it,it must be linear in his freq,egalise it if isnt,
take a multiband compressor,and just compress under 150 hz
to check the best point of had some sub who's really getting out
from the speaker.
The most important is to make good sounds,when you have a raw sequencer like an arpegiator,try to pull your sample into,make an arpegio and work on adsr and reaction of the filter.
Good sample inspire you better than a good vynil,and inspiration will comes better.
Hope those things will helps you,get pleasure and send me back your mp3's.

It's not really a tracker, but I can
really recommend Tuareg. You can download
the freeware on this site. I used to be
into tracking too. I think if you've got
some experience with music soft you can
come up with some rocking stuff with this
app.

If you want to stick with the tracker
concept then you should go for Buzz.

problems running rebirth through cubase

I have attempted to run rebirth through cubase via REWIRE but when i open the rewire window there are no track/channels to choose from, there is nothing at all. I'm new to this and am in need of help...am i missing the plug-in or just doing something wrong...any help would be greatly appreciated...noah

Firstly, make sure that you have the room on the CD to store it. Then you'll need a CD burning program. I believe this can be achieved with a decent audio editor such as <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a> or <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SoundForgeRec/">Sound Forge</a>.

No. Winamp can't do that. Try MP3Machine for WAV - MP3 software. The encoder section is great!

Lost WMPLAYER.EXE file???

I'm a big idiot.
I decided to uninstall windows 7 beta because a script kept occuring on the page of radio stations. however, i didnt remove it the right way, and now my media player 6.4 WONT PLAY CD's. grrr. whenever i try to play one, i get a prompt that says the file "wmplayer.exe" cant be found. i have no idea what to do...

Just reinstall Windows MEdia PLayer (WMPlayer)

problems with saving of a MIDI file

Sometimes I encounter a strange phenomenon when I try to save a midi file.
For example:
I've recorded some Midi-tracks with my external keyboard. Everything sounds fine in my sequenser (Massiva, Cubase,...).
I do a file-save into midi.
And when I try to play this MIDI file which sounds very OK in a sequenser the file seems to be empty( for example Mediaplayer). I can't hear a thing !?!
I don't understand this.
Can somebody help me with this, please?

I suppose it has something to do with a setting but which setting?

I have tried to download 5 different cd players to install on my IBM computer with win95 OS. Nothing seems to be working. I have successfully downloaded three, however I can't get them to work. The one labeled CD Player keeps opening in Excell 2000 and then it can't be read. Another named Processu CD player has been installed but my computer can't locate it when I put in an audio cd. If I locate it on my own and try to play it, it doesn't recognize the cd and then it won't let me close the window. It keeps saying something about no MCI????? The third called Boss DJ has been installed but I can't retrieve it because it has not been registered!! It's free and I was never given the option to register it. I am very frustrated at this point and would greatly appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks.

This one is free also, and is a rather recent release. It has a clean interface
and should be reliable.

This one is more than just a CD player (also a MP3 encoder, decoder and player)

SbLive's static cache

Is there any way to load a sfbank that is larger than what sblive's static cache will allow? I have a PIII with 128mbs and I would like to load some of the banks larger than the 63mb limit. Or can the static cache be disabled?

YOu could get more RAM, however, thats a bit expensive, and it will do you no good, other than to load your soundfonts. The soundfont software only allows you to use up to half (approxamitely) of your system's ram. I have heard about a way to be able to force it to allow more, but I haven't beeen able to find it yet.
It might be an .ini file setting or something in your registry, but I'm just guessing.

I am going to use a Tyan motherboard in my music
production studio, and they offer as an option the
Creative Labs ES1373 32-bit audio chip. Can anyone
offer a comparison between using this chip vs. a
Soundblaster Live Platinum card? I will also be using
either Yamaha DSP/AdB AX88 or MOTU products (haven't
decided yet). If the ES1373 is essentially the same as
Soundblaster, then I can save a PCI slot for other
sound cards. Also, can anyone with experience with
Yamaha DSP/AdB AX88 and MOTU and Frontier Design Grp.
hard disk recording systems say which they like most
and which they like least and why? Comparisons would
be very appreciated. Store salesmen only pitch the
products they personally use and manufacturer's info
sheets give specs to compare, but this doesn't really
tell a person what it's like to use one system
compared to another.

I saw a site that had a mp3 file that was only a mere 16kbps!! Super small file. The smallest I've ever been able to compress to is 32 kbps. How can I create a 16kbps mp3 file?

Help! we most recently got this program but im really clueless on how to work it! the instructions are confusing me. we have cd-rw's...is that the probelm, does it only take cd-r's? Also i heard you have to chage the mp3 into a .wav if you want it to work, if you could send me some via e-mail i would appreciate it ALOT! THanks!
