Vegas Pro recording

When I record in Vegas,(no video involved) short pieces of the file are missing when I play it back. It always happens at about 33 secs into the file, then the rest is ok. I tried all the usual fixes - defragmenting the hard drive, changing the buffering amount, turning off the anti-virus, closing any background programs, not using any plug-ins, only playing back one track during recording and zooming out so the cpu does not have to build peaks during recording (I think that's it). Also, I think my system should by able to handle the job - 433 celeron, 64M ram and plenty of hard drive space. Any suggestions, please!!

Automatic scoring of single notes and chords
Automatic spacing of notes
Automatic display of chord symbols
Automatic display of guitar fretboard fingering
Separated right and left hand scoring of notes
"Jazz" capable notation features
Capability to change note values present in score
Ability to insert key signatures with auto-transpose
Ability to insert lyrics
Ability to print score

Multitrack recording Mac

Can anyone suggest a site to go for multitrack recording for a Mac. I have seen the multitrack software on this site but it is quite limited in number. How do I overlay tracks on top of eahc other. For example I have an mp3 or AIFF file and I want to repeat so that the voice is doubled, quadrupled or whatever.

Hmmm... there are plenty of packages available for the Macintosh on the music front and the Mac is still first choice for pro studios running audio/midi software. What sort of Macintosh do you have? There are some cheap options and some magazine CD giveaways that are worth a good chaff at depending on the power of your macintosh.

Also you may want to check out the following site for information on home recording. I haven't used the site extensively but you may find something there that helps.

Wiht much of the software on the market, for burning CD's, you have to convert the MP3's into wav files. this can be done with Winamp. However, there are some that will create CD Audio using MP3's as the source. In your CD burning program select teh create Audio CD option, and when selecting files to put in, try dragging in an MP3, if it gives you an error saying it is an unsupported or unrecognised format, then you need to convert to a wav file first.

To get your MP3 music onto a CD that you can play in your car
(or the stereo, whatever) it has to be converted to CDA format
so that it can be burned (recorded) onto the CD. If you have a
look at any music CD on your computer you will see all the .CDA
files.

1st- You need access to a CD Burner
2nd- Converting .mp3 to .cda:

Try

And they should be ready to burn!

Music Publisher can produce any type of music. It's a notation only program so if you are looking to compose at the computer it's not for you. However if you are wanting to get existing (or envisaged!) music onto the printed page then that's what it's for.

You're not going to find it yet. You can either bounce left and right channels (Maybe someone else can explain how to do it this way, I'm still confused) and/or use filters and plug-ins in any editor (cool edit,sound forge, etc) to try and filter out vocals from the mix, but even this still sounds like sh!t most of the time. And as far as a plug in that filters out music and leaves vocals. I think you're waiting with the rest of us.

a song mastered it is mixed into two tracks (stereo)
which combines all the tracks together.

MIDI input of more than 2 voices on one staff at once

Hi,
I just bought PRINT MUSIC about 2 months ago, and i've been satisfied with the program in all respects but one. Basically if i'm playing i can only enter one voice...i.e one melodic line per staff at a time. Its good for choral music or solo-type things, but for piano i basically have to input the notes using the mouse. However when i input a melody using cakewalk and i hold down one key while playing other notes with the same hand it records them correctly as two melodies in the same staff with different rythms. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this...(this program is similar to finale so finale solutions should work) or tell me what other programs would work.

I've never used this program, but thats pretty messed up! How are you suppose to record chords!?!? Even the cheapest versions of most software packages will let you record as much data into your pc as you'd like (depending on the polyphony of your keyboard).

Yeah it is pretty messed up. Anyway, i think you understand the problem but i can record chords. but if i was playing say a sus chord and then resolved it without changing any of the other notes, it would record that as the sus chord followed by the note itself.....
Anyway enough of my blabbering, which software programs that are good for transcription would you reccomend? the cheaper the better....

Sibelius 1.05 repeat command

Dear Sir,

In the mean time I use Sibelius 1.05 to generate some music score. Could some one help me to find the solution for my problem as follows:

1. As default from Sibelius, the Grace Notes Appogiatura has a value 1/8 (eigth value). How to change or create the value of the Appogiatura to 1/16 (sixteeenth) value?
2. I generate symbol and text with code "DC for Da Capo", "Coda", "to Coda" and "Fine" to repeat some score. How to command this code so in can be functioned as repeat command during Play/Flexi. As my understand, when the score found "DC" code than it will repeat to the beginning until arrive to code "to Coda" than it will jump to "Coda" until finish. But when I play it won't repeat just go on to the next score.
3. During Play/Flexi, the Repeat Bar Lines is function properly, means it can repeat to the beginning after arrive at 1st, then after second play it jump to the 2 nd. (I use command Create - Line - chosse 1st and 2nd for repeat). When I save as Midi file, this command is not function or do not repeat as during play/flexi, it just forward to the next score.

Use Windows Sound Recorder
use a decoder to encode mp3 into wav
open up in sound recorder(may take a bit of time)
play the wav
edit what bits you want to take offf by deleting before and after times
when this is done
adjust volume by 25 % as many times as you need to
go to properties
convert to different bitrates and frequencies
save as whatever
decode back to mp3

Is there a way to save an MP3 file to a CDA file? The CDA file is what a regular music CD is.

If you're planning on burning sound(MP3)files to a cd in order to play it with a regular cd player you don't need to do that. Just convert the MP3 to a WAV file and you can put that on a CD-R and play it on every cd player. After you have finished the burning process the file will show up in Windows Explorer as a CDA file.

RECORDING FROM COMPUTER TO CD

I keep getting an error message when I try to make a music CD. I have a few mp3 files that I want to put on CD so I can listen to them in my car. I'm opening them in RealJukeBox (latest version) and I have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 3.5c (266). The error message says, "not a valid wav file format", so I opened Windows media player and saved them as a wav file and tried it again. This time the error said, "wav file not recordable to CD quality". Is there something I can set in options or preferences or something that I'm not finding?
