Wait for Windows Millenium I guess... Windows 2000 is actually an update of Windows NT, and is designed for business Networks, not for home PC users, so lacks much support, driver compatibility etc.. I don't know for certain that this is your problem, but I don't think Windows 2000 is that suitable for your purposes..

I've installed WinNT 4 ensoniq (ISA card) drivers.
And Win2000 recognized the card.
Try setup.exe or right click on each .inf files
then choose install.

I have sound under Windows 2000 with my Isa
ensoniq card from gateway 2000 (1995).

Convert "Korg T-3" midi format into general midi format ?

I recently bought a midi keyboard that is
general midi compatible and can also use
"XG" technology, a friend of mine has a
"Korg T-3" keyboard which has it's own
midi format peculiar to just the T-3,
he has a disk of music I wanted to play on my
keyboard, is there any software programs
that would convert from the midi format the
"Korg T-3" uses to a general midi format ?

Newbie recording with Sound Forge 4.5!?!?!?!?!

I've done some recording with Sound Forge, but I've only recorded to one track. I want to be able to record multiple tracks on to one track.

Can I edit each individual track too, once I've recorded onto the multiple track? Anyone have some pointers to give me?

Sound Forge doesn't support multiple tracks. You need something like Cool Edit Pro instead.

Adaptec CD-R Error Message T7303, Please Read

I am trying to record .wav files to cd-r disc. The Computer is giving me the error message t7303. invalid parameter or command (something like that). It says to either re-install easy cd creator, or reboot the system. I did both, and it won't even start writing to my disk. I have no idea what is wrong with it. I recently had to re-install it because I had to delete my c drive and re-install everything, so i think I might have missed something there. Please help. thanks. joe

i'm experiencing the same thing, when i thought it finished writing the CD, that's when the problem occurs. it gave me the same error message (invalid parameter or something). well, i tried making my CD-R as master(IDE).And, even tried what you did, re-intalled everything, still the same. help me!!!!

Hi joe, I had the same problem. Try to empty WINDOWS/TEMP completely; uninstall-cd creator and then reinstall cd-creator.
Sometimes, other copyprograms cause a conflict with Easy Cd-creator; try to uninstall them.

===Search for www.akoff.com and downlaod the polyphonic version. With some trial & error you can convert waves with about 85% accuracy to midi. Then, running wave at the same time helps you editing your midi to perfection.

where can i find midi and DJX help for IDIOTS like myself?

I'm new to the midi game so excuse me if seem ignorant to anything
that you would consider obvious.
Basically I need a step by step guide to using a DJX KEYBOARD with cubase vst.
for example how register it as a device on windows. The soundcard
is the soundblaster 16 avance 100 i think.

Also how do I get midis to play through my keyboard.

I appreciate any help.

I don't think you need to register it as a device under windows. You need a joystick to MIDI port converter that plugs in to the soundcard and provides the MIDI in and out to the keyboard. If you want to play back MIDI files you probably need to set up a few things on keyboard itself, such as the local on/off. This might sound confusing, but it should be explained in the DJX manual.

You could always but the sound blaster platinum it has direct midi leads on the front of the sound card the problem with the djx machine is it has no direct midi interface hence you need a second keyboard to run the midi script!

mp3 install help

I know this sounds stupid but.....
I downloaded two different programs for MP3 encoding here and can't get either one to install. They both tell me that my Windows drivers need updating, I reply okay to update, reboot, then nothing.

What am I supposed to update, anyone have any clues? Please help, projects on hold. Thanks for any help.

I know of a good frequency analysis program, i think its called spectral lab or something. I've got a trial version which i can email to you if your interested. For me it worked great.

voice recognition music software?

I'm looking for some software where I can "la la la" into my PC, and it creates sheet music for me to put to my words and create a bit of work that others can relate to.

cakewalk guitar studio can do this. you tune it any way you want. i absolutely hate this program but use it for tuning all the time

Actually, you need to convert RA to WAV. If you look inside the RAM file, you will find the URL of the RA you are after. If you want to convert RA to WAV, I also recommend using software called <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Streambox_Ripper/">StreamBox Ripper</a>.

hi everybody, i'm a musician and would like to know everything about midi,,,not for website or internet use....i mean for live performances.....it is very practical to be able to play so many instruments at once with only a few guys playing on stage......that's my interest for midi..........however, i'd like to know more about what kind of stuff is needed to obtain what I want. I have a pc with a mp3+ live card, cakewalk, and a cheap keyboard........what else do I need? What is cubase......? Is it for a different purpose than cakewalk? Please,,,someone help me!!!!!!

A MIDI file has playback instructions for a sound module. The sound module can be a synthesizer rack module, a keyboard, or a built-in sound engine on a soundcard. If you have a sequencer (a hardware device or PC software like Cakewalk), you can create, edit, and play MIDI files. Experts say "MIDI files," not "midis."

It's possible to use MIDI files as accompaniment for a live performance. Cakewalk makes it very easy to change the key or tempo of a MIDI file. Of course you have to bring a computer (or hardware sequencer) to your performance. You need to know if your audience will be happy listening to a live performance with a recorded background. If you're a good performer and showman, it should be OK.

MP3 is an audio format. It contains digitized sound, not playback instructions. You can't really change the key or tempo of an MP3 file. One solution is to use Cakewalk to edit your MIDI files and when you're happy with them, use it to save them as MP3 files.

Cubase is a competitor of Cakewalk. It has a few extra features, but most people say that Cakewalk is easier to learn, is more stable, and has better support.
