Re: Where can I download songs???
Try MP3.com, you probably already know bout it, but they are probably the best place if you have the cash...
If not, try this newsgroup:
alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.nospam
There are hundreds of newsgroups like this one that offer almost every kind of music from the 1920's to present day, even complete albums. Drop me a line if you need a hint.

Vision and Roland JV1080 issue
I am running Vision 3.0 sequencer on a Mac and a Roland JV1080 sound module. How do I send my click track to the drummer and the full mix to the P.A. with interferring with the drum patterns I have sequenced. Is it "split" in Vision or on the JV?
Please Info for Neuratron PhotoScore
What's about the price for the full version
of Neuratron's PhotoScore (www.neuratron.com) ??
They don't give information about price on
their homepage.

: hi, use coll edit pro and / or analogx voice remover (www.analogx.com)or How to remove a lead vocal from a mix
This technique involves a simple out of phase trick called 'inversion'. Most of the lead vocals you want to remove are panned to the center of a mix so removing them goes like this:
1) First import the stereo file with vocals.
2) "Split" the stereo file into Left and Right components.
3) "Invert" the Left component.
4) Play both tracks together, and pan them to the center.
The main part of the vocals should be gone except for any reverb decays or effects that were processing the vocals.

Many programs have filter to do that. But I found a very original solution, using just cool edit and imiagination.
Using the noise reduction feature of Cool edit, search for a place in the song with just voice, o where the voice is in first place, and mark the section. Just a few notes are enough. Next, remove the vocal "noise" from all the song, and you are done...

Cakewalk problem after win95 to 98 upgrade
I've recently installed win 98. However Cakewalk 6.0 (rock solid under win 95) now regularly drops out of midi sync when chasing my Roland 1680.
Anyone know why?
Re: Cakewalk problem after win95 to 98 upgrade
Not sure, but check your timing icon, under the transport buttons and be sure its set to computer.
Also, check out these sites frequented by Cake users...
www.prorec.com
www.audioforums.com
Good luck.

Do anyone know of any simple CD-player mixer freeware. I need the option of playback from both the CD-player and the Cd-writer simultanously and to be able to fade the sound between them manually or by a crossfader.

I know this sounds stupid but.....
I downloaded two different programs for MP3 encoding here and can't get either one to install. They both tell me that my Windows drivers need updating, I reply okay to update, reboot, then nothing.

Hello,
I downloaded MPAction Rip'n'Coder 1.1 and didn't find any problems encoding. But I'm a big fan of Cool Edit 2000 for MP3ing, so maybe you should give that a go.

Wave and Cubase3.55
Hi.
I have a problem with recording in Cubase. When the audio file is recorded it is placed a little bit behind the click. Why?
The processor is a pentium III 450, so this can´t be the problem. Thank you.
Re: Wave and Cubase3.55
This an effect known as latency. Basically, it takes a certain amount of time for the computer to process the sound after it is converted from analogue to digital. VST should tell you the latency time in the AISO control panel. The latency time is dependent on how efficient the soundcard drivers are, and also the hardware.
The solution is to get the latest AISO driver from your soundcard manafacturers website (if possible) or get a better soundcard with lower latency, such as the RME Hammerfall.
Hope this helps
Has anyone used these midi conversion programs ?
I had just found a web site with midi conversion programs,
(I need to convert "Korg T-Series (T-3) midi format files
into "general midi format")
and wanted to see if anyone had tried any of their programs
and could say if they had satisfactory results.

i need some advice
i make rap music on my computer using all free software from the shareware music machine, and i wold like to know if there is a free application on hitsuad that can let me listen to my beats on my out put while i record my voice to a seperate wave file, so i can mix them together and change the volume at will. thank you in advance.

Re: i need some advice
You should check out Bram Bos. He's got some pretty cool programs; The Tuareg(phrase sampler),Moonfish, (3-track recording) and Hammerhead ( for creating and editing loops which you probally know about already) They are all available here at Hitsquad.com. Once u d/l those, well, what more could ya need? Maybe a badass prog to bust out some cool*creepy trip hop sounds with some wicked fx, but that too iz what i want. Make sure u d/l Dd clipFree too(But im not sure if its better then Moonfish). Tuareg kcks ass though. I gIvE B.B. mAd ProPz

Well If you don't have the money for an overpriced
peice of software like most of the Steiberg programs are you can also do it this way, provided that you have a reasonably fast computer.
which is any computer faster than mine, which is a
PI 200mhz.
ok all freeware stuff. I'm assuming you are working only with wav files. You need a program called Ddclip Free. It is a four channel tracker for wav files. Its really easy and drag drop like.
and it has a sound recorder in it. As long as you have a sound card that can play and record at the same time (it probably does) this should do exactly what you want.

The answer is: You need an audio sequencer.
I use Cubasis VST24, a very powerful software
which have many other features (High-quality
audio effects, MIDI....) and it's not expensive
for those many features. I like this thing.
Info at:
Encore or Sibelius
I have benn using Encore 4.02 now for about a year, and I have found to to have several limitations.
I am about ready to purchase Sibelius.
I downloaded their preview version and it seems good.
Does anyone have any input?
John
Re: Encore or Sibelius...think about Finale 2000 too
: Does anyone have any input?
: John
Finale 2000, ins a very powerful program. Is far easier to use than previous versions, and its keys are configurables to feel as Encore. Also, it reads encore files directly.
I like Sibelius too, but ,I opted for FInale, is very powerful. Is a matter of tastes and for what kind of music, and what are you expecting.
Try both, they have demos.
Re: Encore or Sibelius
I have full version of Sibelius but
i have some problem about Free Ryhtm

I think Sibelius is the best noatation software
you can get. Never found another with so many features and it's
really easy to work.
Need advice for a Newbie who wants to create Techno based music,
I have Hammerhead rythym station, Steinbergs Wave Lab 3.0, and Rebirth RB-338 2.0 . What other software for Windows 98 should I get and where can I get it for free if possible? If you can help out a Newbie who really wants to make techno music, it would be really appreciated. E-mail me a.s.a.p Thanks alot!
Re: Need advice for a Newbie who wants to create Techno based mu
Check out Mboom at
http://www.mboom.com/
It might have features you need.
Re: Need advice for a Newbie who wants to create Techno based mu
Ok first off, within the next couple of weeks that
hammerhead will not be needed. Keep your eye out for something called the Tuareg. Its a sampler and tracker. No more damn raw files. No more damn user bank creators.
Second off you need to go get Buzz at Buzztrack.com . It is so cool. It is also a tracker and sampler, but in addition It is completely plugin based. They frequently come out with new ones. Each plugin is one of two things: an effect or a generator. The generators are synth units, drumsequencers, samplers, and anything else they can think of. Effects include everything from Reverb to pitchshifter to Amplitude Modulator to vocoder as well as ARE YOU LISTENING A MIDI SYNC FOR REBIRTH AS WELL AS A VST PLUGIN LOADER.
Also if you don't have it you should get Stomper which is a drum synth for free works great with hammerhead. Just go to the hammerhead url and look around, you'd be suprised at what you find.
Hope this helps.

Windows 2000 - ensoniq soundscape
After installing win2000 I have no sound! Win2000 will not install the drivers I supplied. hat can I do?
Re: Windows 2000 - ensoniq soundscape
Creative has posted a new set of drivers that supports the Ensoniq AudioPCI 1370, among others. The drivers are good for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows Millenium
Re: Windows 2000 - ensoniq soundscape
Too bad, no Soundscape drivers. Creative doesn't give a crap about Ensoniq customers. It's sad when a company dies.
Re: Windows 2000 - ensoniq soundscape

Get the ensoniq soundscape driver for Windows NT

and install the driver. then be sure to know your

Tried this, But Win 2000 did recognise the NT Driver as a driver (i.e could not find it when I told it where to look). Any ideas ?
