Re: HELP!!!! HOW DO I BURN C.D'S
Hi all.
OK, here is how the process works... many of the software packages that come with one's CD burner have the ability to transparently convert various audio file types (MP3, WAV, etc.) directly to CDA format (required to play on "regular cd audio players") during the burn process. I use Adaptec's Easy CD Creator 4 (Easy CD comes with many cd burners, I use the HP 9100). One selects the option to create an audio cd, then select the various audio files (they can be mixed formats; mp3, wav, etc.). The files will be converted automatically to CDA format as they are burned to the cd. Simple, but not obvious.
Good luck.
:-)

In Re: How Do I Burn CDs; Ok Ihope this will help a little; 1. You've got to purchase a CD burner, you have a few choices , either a CD-R recorder or a CD-RW recorder, the CD-R recorder will only record on record once CDs ,its the cheepest recorder , but with that you lose ,for if for any reason ,during the record session it screws up ,you just trashed the cd ,since you only get one chance at it ,2. or you can purchase a CD-RW recorder, which has much more to offer ,it will record on either CD-Rs or CD-RWs ,rewrite disks, of which if for any reason there is a mistake ,you can erase the CD-RW disk and start over no lose except a little time ,Now there are also a few other things to concider , what speed do you want to burn the CD . They range from 2x speed up to 8x speed and usualy the 8x burners will record from 1x- 8x in increments of 2x, such as 1x 2x 4x 6x and finaly 8x so you see the 8x burner is much more dynamic in different applications, Honestly with the price difference being so little between the two the 8x is the way to go. You can buy the Yamaha internal 8x burner for about$ 279.00 dollars at a convienent Best Buy store and Yamaha only builds DAM good equitment ! all the software that you'll need is all included right in the box , just install it in to your computer and your off ,of course always read the directions! ,while your learning to use it use strickly CD-RWs CDs that way if you screw it up ,just erase and start over no lose of money, I bought the Yamaha 3 in 1 CD- ROM Drive ,CD-ReWriter its model no.# CRW8424EZ for PCs or Macintosh and I'm totaly happy ! a beautiful unit for the money !It will burn a standard CD ,say 50 minutes long in about 6.5 to7.0 minutes ,Not to bad! Well I hope I've helped you some ,if you have any further questions feel free to e-mail me at ghostband@earthlink.net My name is Steve and good luck to you ! ! !

Re: HELP!!!! HOW DO I BURN C.D'S
Did you also get a CD burner? Did it come with CD burner software?
If you can answer Yes to both questions, read the documentation. The basic procedure is to identify the files you want to copy, select some options, and press Go. The details are in your documentation.

Vinyl Music to CD Music
What hardware and software do I need to transfer my old vinyl albums to CDs? What, specific recommendations do you have for me?
Thanks,
-bs
Re: Vinyl Music to CD Music
You need (1) a reasonably fast computer with lots of hard disk space (10MB/minute), (2) a nice sound card to input the sound into your computer and digitize it, (3) a digital audio editor, such as Cool Edit, (4) preferably some declick noise reduction software, unless you like all those clicks and pops, (5) probably some kind of mixer or pre-amp to match the output of your record player to your sound card's inputs, and (6) a CD burner and CD burner software.
For the sound card, you could get one of the better SoundBlasters, unless you want really clean results. If you do, check out something like the Delta 44 at midiman.com.
Cool Edit 2000 has a declick plugin (add-on program). Check syntrillium.com.
There's nothing automatic about this process. Every item mentioned above requires a learning curve.

How to CLEAN a microphone?
This is a serious question.
I'm talking about a vocal mic...
Now I KNOW I'm not going to be dunking it in warm sudsy water, but I would like to know if there is a spray product, or whatever. What do people recommend to clean the bit which your lips may touch, if you get that close ????
Thanks, in anticipation of a helpful response...

Well Cazz the best thing that you can do is to unscrew the grille very very carefully from the body of the mic. Don't try to remove the capsule you'll break the mic. Then take the foam pop shield out from inside the grille. The best thing to clean the grille and foam with is a dilute mixture of an antiseptic and common or garden washing up liquid. You can use a toothbrush to clean the grille if has got really grotty. just make sure you rinse all the suds off and leave them to dry thoroughly before reassembly

Now go into the C:/Windows Files and look through them until you find the file named what you wrote down !If you click on the file once then right click, it will have a drop down info list, go down till you see send or send to ,click on the send to it will give you a choice of where you want to send it ,the easiest is choose DeskTop that way you wont have to hunt it down ,until you get a few under your belt ! then just click on the file to open it ...and use it ! it might take you a few times to get familure with the process but you'll catch on quickly believe me once you see how it works ,then you'll think that wasn't hard ! and its not !
