MP3 DJING WITH A LAPTOP WITH TWO CD ROM PLAYERS

has anyone any experience? Two CD rom players needed as all mp3s on CD. To be played direct off CD with an mp3 mixing programme (eg. 1200 thing).

Is it possible? Or should I convert mp3s to audio then mix with a twin CD (DJ) deck?

When I used Mp3s on CD I needed a fast CD ROM drive. My laptop wasn't fast enough. I changed to a PC and a large hard drive. Copied all my Mp3's on the hard drive. Worked like a charm!

How do I record songs from an audio cassette onto my pc. I have mp3 to wav converter and ra2wav converter. I also have that recorder that is pre installed on my pc. I know I have to get a rng one to one plug to connect from the tape player to the input of the sound card what do I do from there.

Once you have your tape deck plugged into your
sound card you should download <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a>.

Then all you do is hit the Record button on Cool
Edit and the play button on your tape deck.

Anyone,

I have a powered 12watt Studiomaster desk that I use with four
Martin Audio speakers. Tthis desk is rather heavy, question...
As this desk is digitaly controlled, therefore computerised, is it
possible
to get a program for a laptop as an alternative to these desks?

Surely with such powerful programs as Cubase (the best of studio and
desk combined) they have software for computers and the hardware
to interact such as outputs and inputs for use with live gigs instead
of these big powered desks???

Please email me I would be very grateful for any advise.

Recording samples

I playback/ record midi sequences mostly and convert the results to audio files.
Since the samples are recorded at 16 bits/ 44 khz, will it make a difference in sound quality if I record at 20 bits/48 khz or 24 bits/ 96khz?

ACID: Drum rolls?

Hi

How do you create drum rolls in Acid? I can create 16th or 32nd runs of individual snare hits but run into problems with th volume envelope. Obviously I need this to go up gradually but I can't seem to do this as it only effects individual hits (i.e. a little blue spot on each hit which you can move up or down) and not the whole section.

CD Back ups

Hi,

I'm trying to backup my music cds so I can play them in my car and in my apartment without having to bring em all the time.

I have tried copying them directly from cd-rom to burner with easy cd creator 4, and the results are less then perfect (skips etc.). I have ripped them into wav format and then copied them to a blank, and though they sound better, there still is the occasional skip.

My burner is yamaha 4x4x16 scsi, my system is a k62-450, 64 megs ram. I don't do anything while its burning... What am I missing??. Would different sofware do a better job with music. (With data, Easy cd Creator works great.... but with music, maybe it's different??).

Any suggestions?.

korg tr rack using host cable????

I've spent about US$50-00 on a cable other than the
typical joystick port midi cable so i can connect my
tr rack to my laptop(fujitsu lifebook c-6310).
but i don't know how to install the driver provided
on the floppy disk that came with the mini DIN 8pin to
D-SUB 9pin cable.
The names of ports has got me confused aswell, because when
in add new hardware there is nothing called a
D-sub 9pin.
aarrrggghhh
please help me before i go crazy

Try connecting your host cable to COM PORT 1 on your computer, that is if you have a sound card.
If you are running win2000 it's a lost case. Go back to win 95/98.

Hey man thats no problem ..... the D-sub 9pin plug is also known als the normal computer serial port.
Install your to Host driver connect the D-sub 9pin
to one of your serial ports then it should work.

Transposition software?

What format is your music in? WAV files? MID files? Music on a CD?

MID files - any decent sequencer software can do that.
WAV files - any decent WAV editor (like Cool Edit) can do that. Look under pitch shift or stretch.
On a CD - copy it (with a ripper like Audio Grabber) to a computer or record it on computer and work with the WAV files.

But don't plan on transposing it too much, or you'll get some strange effects, you know, the chipumunk voices.

My wife has downloaded some MIDI files that she would like play on her CD player. I think that I need to convert these to Wav files. We have a CD writer. Has anyone done this sort of thing before and if so with gow much success....Thanks
