Bass lines
I am interested in using my computer to synthesise original bass lines for rap music. But all of the digital synthesisers, like the TB-303 seem to only be appropriate for techno-type music. Could anyone recommend a good program (commercial or shareware) I could pick up to do this?

.avi to .wav format
i have some .avi music files i was wanting to play over
my home stereo unit was wondering if you had or could
point me in the direction of some software to make that
happen

Apple's Quick Time converts music from .avi files to .wav. (at least my registred edition does).

I guess if I woulda "TOOKEN" my time and looked in the dictionary I woulda known.
Forcing mp3 to stream and not download
I've posted an mp3 on my website. My desire behaviour
is that when you click on the link to the file, a new
browser window opens and the song plays in that window.
This works fine when I test locally, but from my site,
the new window opens but then a download window pops up
and the user is forced to download instead. I can visit
other sites where the mp3 plays automatically.
What's my problem? Is there a bit I need to set when
encoding?

Re: Forcing mp3 to stream and not download
To stream an MP3 file you must first make a redirect file.
How to do this.
First open notepad and type in the location of your mp3 file http://yoursite/rockandroll.mp3
Now save this notepad file as rockandroll.m3u
Make your link to the m3u file and your mp3 will stream.
If you want one song to play after another just add the address to it under the first in notepad
http://yoursite/rockandroll.mp3
http://yoursite/boogie.mp3
http://yoursite/comedy.mp3
SAVE as whateveryou wanttocallit.m3u and link to the m3u file after you load it to your server.
This will make one song play after the other.

Musictime Deluxe
I have Musictime Deluxe and in the help list it says that you can print(save?) to an EPS file so that you can import them to a Word Document. I haven't been able to do it though. Anyone know what to do? Thanks.
MusicTime Deluxe Version3.5.3 for Windows
I bought a MusicTime program, Registered User was Mauro Del Nero, Serial N° PD1292016093, in 1995. This program was perfectly suitable for Windows 3.11 and 486 processor. Now I have got a Pentium 3 Windows '98 and the program doesn't work anymore. I'd like to buy the MusicTime Deluxe, full versions for PC, but I have two questions about this program:
- Is the MusicTime Deluxe a new version of the old MusicTime I have?
- In this case, does the MusicTime Deluxe work with my computer Pentium 3 Windows '98?

Pretpostavljam da si nase gore list pa odgovaram na srpskom. Imam plug in za Sound Forge (Direct X ). Mogu da ti ga posaljem. Ako hoces javi mi se da se dogovorimo kako to da napravimo.

Cubase VST and Layla HELP!!!!!
I am running Cubase VST v3.6 and I cannot get it to record and playback through Layla. Cool Edit Pro does fine through Layla so it has to be a problem with Cubase. If you have ANY suggestions PLEASE let me know. I am DESPERATE!!!!

have you checked the outputs in cubase go to audio/system/asio controll and check if the out/in puts are right.

Problem with Panasonic 4x/8x Burner
My Panasonic burner has started doing a strange thing. When I try and burn a CD (audio or data) it burns some of the data (varying amounts on every CD I try), and then leaves the rest of the CD blank. The burning software (Nero) claims that its doing the burn 100%.
anyone got any idea what might cause this problem, and how to fix it?

well i don't have ACID yet so i can't help with the activation code. sorry!
i have a mac but pc using friends have exposed me to ACID enough to make me want to try using it with virtual pc and i'm glad to hear it worked that way for you. sorry you lost acid perhaps i can help you out in a few weeks.
was it slow to use compared to a pc or full functional ?

The only way you could convert would be if you had the
original fla. file (flash file). flash takes wav
and converts them to mp3 when a movie is exported
as a swf file. but in fla. stage (pre export) the
wavs havent been converted yet. I dont know of any
software that can convert flash to real audio

Recording Records to disk?
I am trying to record records onto my hard drive. I don't care what format I use,but the sound recorder in '98 does not record in stereo. What software do I need to record in stereo through my mic jack to record a wave file or mp3 on my computer?

YOU NEED the sounforge 4.5 demo and configure
the sound ports of your computer to the same
port that you were yousing for your mic jack,
ALSO youse your master out put of your mixer
into the port in your computer soundcard!!!

Need best sounding music format to embed in web page.
Hi,
A friend of mine wants to know how he can either shrink the size of his wav files......or if he can use another format like Mp3 for instance to embed music on his web site.
CAn Mp3's be embedded so that they automatically play just like wav files? Does window's media player play mp3's?
As you can see I know next to nothing about any of this and would appreciate any suggestions or help.
He just wants to make his site load faster, without losing too much sound quality..

Hi my question is this how do i get Reaktor to run in conjunction with a sequencer I can get it open inside Cakewalk pro6 i can get it to play but i cant get it to record have also tried it inside cubase same resultI assume something like this Hubi`s loopback is required but on downloading had trouble it seems some of the files are missing that was the error thing that popped up anyway any ideas gratefully recieved thanks

Does anyone know how to play .svq (roland XP 50) files on a PC?
A friend emailed me some sequences he created on an
XP-50. The file extension is .svq, and Cakewalk
doesn't recognize the format. 2 questions: Are there
any programs that will play .svq files on a PC? and...
better yet, are there any utilities that will convert
.svq to .mid? I've searched around a bit, and can't
seem to find anything.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
