There is a computer sampler to work with a synth?

Hi. I need to know if there is any software sampler to work togheter with a midi keyboard synthtizer.
I need a sampler in software doing the same as a real sampler.

There is a software sampler called "Gigasampler" that works just like a hardware sampler, exept it has virtually unlimited sample memory. You can connect your midi keyboard to the PC in order to access samples from your hard disk. Bit pricy: about 1400 DM, but i read good reviews everywhere.

I am trying to locate a couple of sampler CD's called Drums 1 and another called Drums 2 both by "bob clearmountain" I am in serious need of them nd will return the fav..got tons a stuff! :)

Easy CD Creator on the bottom or CD Architect on the top and thousands of software in between. Make sure that software workswirh your CD-R.

All MIDI sequencers (Digital Orchestrator, Cackewalk etc.) have a notation window where you can see chords.

can you tell me how to record voices by microphone on cackewalk

A: Microsoft.

WMA is not open source. Anybody can make WMA encoder or player using Microsoft's lybraries (try the Windows Media SDK at Microsoft's site). At least you don't have to pay royalties to Microsoft. MP3 isn't open source either. The MP3 format algorithm is available but if you make your own encoder then Fraunhofer can ask you to pay royalties.

Can anyone inform me about a simple, inexpensive music-writing program that works on both Mac and Windows or can exchange files between Mac and Windows versions? My song-writing collaborator (the composer) has a Mac, I (the lyricist) have a Windows PC. We're writing simple songs--no arrangements. We don't need any bells and whistles, just the ability to enter a simple melody line --either by notes or midi connection -- and write in the lyrics. Currently he's using Passport Encore on the Mac, and I know that a Windows version exists (and we might be able to exchange files between the two), but Encore is much too expensive for us. Thanks.
