I don't have the converter either, but if you find it, send a copy to me, and if I find it I'll send one to you too.

You need to get real jukebox then get the cd plugin and drag mp3's to your cd burns a nice cda track
Looking at the DAL Deluxe PC card. Does it work for you?
Hi, and thanks for any input. I do want analog inputs for guitar tracks etc. I may get a Roland VS880EX and just use the computer for mastering, as suggested by someone else. I'm just not sure depending on the sound card that I get!
I wish that I could have the plug ins for the card on the front of the computer in a drive bay, but cannot find anything that has the capability of this card. I like the stackable feature.
Are you satisfied with the performance of it. It looks pretty good to me, but I would like to know more.
From surfing the net, I think it is compatable with many software programs. I just want to make sure before I buy. If you have any other suggestions, I would like to know.
I just don't want the sound card to limit me and become a bottleneck. I also of coarse want the best sound for the money, but if it means spending a little more to get what I want that is good too!!
P.S. is this card compatable with ProTools Software?

Is the Delta 1010 audio interface card compatiable with the protools software (Free demo version)?
Thanks for you time and help.

Robot voice
Hey you guys and girls,
I want to create a robot voice for some intro i want to create,
But i can't find any program , you know what i mean i gues.
For the dutch people among us , something like Ben Leibrand uses in his intro for the Curry and Van Inkel show.
Has to be something like a computerized voice.
Please if you can help me out , mail me please.
Thanks Guys.....
ROBOTIC VOICE
Hello! I will try to help you, follow the steps:
1. Get a WAV program (you may aleready have one, or find one on the net),
2. Then record your voice to the computer, use a microfone and plug it into your computer ("mic in" or "line in"). Make shure that the input volumes are high enough (use mixer). Save your talking as wave format.
3. When you recorded the wav sample (you talking) run the wav program and open your saved wav file. Then use the "echo effect" on your wave program.
* First you choose the "delay time" and type in the number (for robot voice you should use small delay times, try from 5 - 70).
* When you typed in the delay time, you must choose the intensity of the effect (it should be quite high, try 80% - 95%).
4. Now experiment with various combinations of echo effect. You can use the effect twice or more (put echo over echo...).
This is how I simulated robotic voice, when I recorded my first musical and experimental "album" called "Robot Talks!"
I hope this will help you, and good luck on your project!
Bye!

midi to wav
Can someone help me? I am using cakewalk 6.0 Pro and want to convert some midi files I worked on to wav format so I can burn them onto a CD to use in my car CD player. How is this possible if at all?

Re: midi to wav
: There is a program called WavMaker that converts MIDI to Wav format. Type in the name at a search engine like Yahoo or Hotbot and it will return with a website. The downloadable version is the right program, but not all of the program files are included so it won't convert your files until you buy the CD with the rest of the programs on it ($29.00). I trued it and it works.

Re: midi to wav
Get Cool Edit 2000. It can format lots of files to different. Or just get a simple Encoder that converts midi to wav. Heres a link to a page full of all Converting Utilities: http://dailymp3.com/otherutil.html

Re: midi to wav ----WRONG!...AGAIN
: WRONG!!!
: The only way to "convert" MIDI to Wav is by recording it or have it rendered by a wavetablesynth on your computer.
: Midi can NEVER be converted to wav, 'cos Midi is no more than a set of instructions tellin a synth to play what note at what volume and how long, there's NO audio information in the MIDI format
You dumbazz.. Ive converted midi to wav countless times with the program called "Wingroove", so therefore midi CAN be converted to wav
so there..
Re: midi to wav
Hi Darrell,
Last time I checked there is no Midi to Wav
conversion software. They are two different
animals. Midi of course, is a computer related
language (if you'd call it a language) which
tells your hardware what notes to play, how long,
etc. Wav files are an analog representation
of sounds. They are electrical highs and lows.
So the two file formats really don't relate.
But all is not lost. Though I don't know the exact
details of how I'd go about converting it. The
simplest would be to play the midi file and record
the actual sound either off your speakers or take
the speaker output and send it to your stereo input
and record to cassette that way. Then you'd have
to reverse the process by sending the cassette output
to your sound card and have it stored as a wav file.
This is how I understand the process...someone else
may have a better idea....
Good Luck,
Bryan

There's a much easier and better way to do this:
Simply record your MIDI sequence directly onto your harddisk using any wav-editor.
Select your soundcards MIDI-output as input for recording in your mixer and play your MIDI sequence while you record it.

Reggae/Dub mixing.
Does anyone out there in Rastafari-land know of a good [preferably shareware] dub mixing station? I've seen classical, jazz etc. in the mixing section of this website. If there is an automatic dub mixing station out there, I wanna hear about it -- and if there isn't, I wanna market one. A real dub mixing station would have many effects sends, preset dub delay effects, possibly sampled dub sounds [like King Tubby kicking an amp with the reverb turned up.

Re: Reggae/Dub mixing.
Hey Frank-
I haven't hear of one, but if find out, please let me know as well. I hadn't even thought of one, but it'd be great. i'm working on a website, dubsound.com that is basically a directory of info (a hobby-type thing). i'd love to put a link to some free/shareware and have the world creating from their desktops!
good luck,
noel

Please help me to build my home studio right!! Help me with ANY
Hi, to start off with I am a guitar player mostly. I have played instruments for many years, but I'm just getting back into it. You may have done the same. You never lose the songs that you have written, but the songs you learned to teach yourself you do!
I have played Sax (of all kinds in national competition) in a jazz band (1983- High school). I always looked at the guitar and wanted to learn it when I was in that band. I have many years behind me playing the guitar since.
I have around 2 years trying to learn the keyboard. I am Building a home studio myself and although it is a minimal drum set, I have aquired a`Roland SPD-11 with pads, pedals and switches.
Tonight I am searching sites for contacts for music and advice on building my setup.
So far I have for equipment:
Roland GR-30 guitar synth (all pedals and accessories)
Roland SPD-11 (and accessories,stands,pads,switches,footpedals etc.)
Roland JV880 (and many PCM cards)
MOTU MTP/AV
Digitech TSR24s (Rack mount effects)
Computer (windows) with Cubase, Cakewalk, Sound Forge, ETC.
I know that I need some eq's maybe two dual bands for individual instruments, and I also need a Roland VS880EX or better maybe. This is where my question is right now. I need to know the sound cards and the programs in which they work best. I would like to do computer hard disk recording if it would do what I want, and that is recording with others over the internet and in person with the best possible sound. If going this way proves to be beneficial. I am not so interested in the number of tracks, but making everything sound right with a number of takes. Actually it could be either way.
I am also intersted in building a good live setup!! That is with a Crown amp and a 1-2 mile sound range with my speakers. This is for stereo,CD,PA, etc. right now.
Thanks for any input,

Just a little something that might help...
Hi K.C.
Sometime next year (after my separations from
my wife) I'll be making a major push
into music (start to learn keyboards) and though
I'm not a musician just yet I am into computer
related equipment (I'm a Computer Support
Specialist) and have some ideas as to what
I might be looking at in the near future.
First off I have looked at (though not in detail
yet) obtaining either the yamaha sw1000 audio
card or the emu APS card. These are higher end
sound cards in the $500 price range with expansion
capabilities and or great instrument sounds.
They both have websites you can check out.
Just search for their respective names.
You do need to identify which operating system
you'll want to do most of your
work in and make sure that your hardware and
or software will work in that environment.
And I would look at the computer hardware
requirements as well as the (sequencing)
software compatibility of the sound cards.
The next thing I'd look at would be a mixer.
I've been told that for starters one of the
MACKIE mixers would be a good choice.
And then you may want to shop for a CDRW so
you can record your output onto CD. Newer
models have just been or are in the process
of being released. The newer models boast
12x write, 4x rewrite and 32x cd play speeds.
And even though I have a Shure SM58 mic....I'll
be getting a good mic for studio work. Probably
something in the $500 range like maybe a Neuman
or AKG mic that has warm full sounds to it...
This of course, should depend on what the mic
will be used for. I intend to sing and I have
a strong yet warm tone. But can sing full and/or
mellow in my tunes (ballards, broadway, country).
I'm dying to hear what I sound like with a pro
mic!
I'm still not sure which monitors I'll look at.
That to me will be the hardest thing to decide on.
I'd want something that would work well in
multiple enviornments and with both vocals
and instuments. I'll need to check into this
carefully....
Hope this helps a little....stay in touch and let
me know what else you get into...
Good luck,
Bryan
Re: Just a little something that might help...Thanks
I appriciate the input. I will go check those sound cards right now. As for the mic I will check that out to. I will need one to mic the gutar amp. I will keep in touch. I'm going out of town Monday and be gone for a couple of weeks. I won't be checking here every night, but probably once every couple of days.
Thanks for the input!
