Well, I am on a mac, with Roxio's toast
I want to take the audio portion only from a dvd and burn it to a cd. When I open the audio files, they are empty. Can you help me?

I recently purchaced a Dell computer which has a cd burner and Roxio 5 software for doing so. However, I do not understand how to do it or where the music comes from. If you could answer these questions for me, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.

pro-tools reverb mac?

hello,, I've been messing with protools free, and still have not found even a simple stereo reverb that will load, and work properly. I've down loaded some "trials", but they don't even show up on the fx area, almost like the don't install correctly. I use a Mac G4 runnning OS 9.2. Any Help?

Copying big files to disk!

Im trying to run some old music programs on an old 386 25MHz pc but dont have a cd burner so have a problem with the size of programs to get onto floppy disks. Does anyone know how to copy onto more than one floppy disk when the file is too big for one? Cheers!

You should look for disk (data) image (or backup) programs. Some of them can split up a copy of a large file. Many backup programs are specifically designed for this. Even some .ZIP encoder/decoders can do this for you. If StuffIt Deluxe is available on PC, it can do it for you. This is cool since you could then create mac-compatible archives.

Be aware that most backup programs use their own format and aren't always compatible with each other. Most file splitters were originally designed for TEXT files and for UU or HQX - encoded files to be uploaded to Usenet (NNTP://) sites (also know as NEWS).

By the way, you could probably buy a better computer for about 50 dollars or maybe even less, depending upon where you live.

I have seen Pentium 3 computers with 64 MB ram for that much.

ok ive read nearly all the forum posts and note big noting but i help solve nearly all the problems like converting .ram .wav,atomix mp3 questions i would post solution your all looking for here but every other time i have it just gets erased so email me with "any questions" you have and "will solve your problems".
as long its got to with music and music software i will reply.

Hello Matty,

Please let me know when your messages got erased and
I'll look into it for you.

The only reasons messages are "erased" is if the contain
illegal content, other than that once a message is more
than a month old it is archived and can still be found
by looking at the previous months' discussions.

If you use Winamp, you can get a free plugin for it from AnalogX here:

There is a version availiable for DirectX applications as well (Sound Forge, Cool Edit, Cakewalk)

I would not pay for any devocalizing software. They all pretty much work the same way. Results vary with the origional audio file.

useful tools: CPU Charger, NotVirtual!, Respond!, LockDisk, DiskTop, MacOS Purge, AppWatcher, DiskCharmer, DropAttribute, FlushIt!

PC {Windows 98SE or similar} = Tuareg, Cubasis, EVPmaker, WaveLabLite, DDClipPro, HOG, SoundForge, Amen, Hammerhead, Simsinth, Stomper

These are somewhat old, but still very very reliable tools. All of these programs can be run on older systems too.

Using WMP3, whenever I try to create a playlist I get an "ERROR=unspecified error" message. According to the onlire error center, this is Error Code 80004005. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Would appreciate any help. I am not very computer savey but know the basics. Thanks.
