need suggestion for software.....

I need an inexpensive software program that will let me play a wav (voice) and add music to the background. I need to be able to cut and paste the voice files over the background music any ideas for some good software?

Re: need suggestion for software.....

You'll need an audio editor for cutting up the voice. Use a muulti-track recorder for putting it all together. DDClip Free is good and there are a number of free audio editors on this site.

Re: Help! Cubase vst 3.5 corrupted

Why don't you just contact Cubase as you have a registered version? They should be able to help.

MIDI

I am downloading the recorder a second time. The first time I got it off of www.downloads.com and it wouldn't work. I am hooking my keyboard up to my comp and trying to record music. What steps should I take to make it work? Do you reccomend a program that is free that I can lay tracks with, vocal, piano, guitar etc. I have my mic hooked up to Sound Recorder... But I also want a program where I can play my piano and it writes down the sheet music for me. Do you know of any free programs that do that?

CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

I had to use Quickrestore on my Presario. Now my cd burner does not work, because the Cequadrat Just!Burn software was not on the restore cd. compaq.com and mypresario.com were of no help. Anyone know where I can get the justburn software? Can I use some other software instead, or am I stuck with a cdr that doesn't work?

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

I had to change my CD ReWriter and was told that I could still use CeQuadrat Just!Burn but it does not work. I can play music, copy cd's but cannot copy, save or make bakeup of data. It keeps coming back in read only format. Can anyone help me.

CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

my son deleted all the drivers for my cdrw on my compaq Presario model #5900T. Now my cd burner does not work, because the Cequadrat Just!Burn software was not on the restore cd. Compaq.com were of no help. Anyone know where I can get the justburn software? Can I use some other software instead, or am I stuck with a cdrw that doesn't work?

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

You can find it on your Compaq restore Cd. Put your CD in your CD rom drive (assuming that you have installed your drivers and your drive works). Click on My computer and open up your D drive (again assuming that is the name of your CDRom drive). Click on the CPQDRV folder and then on the ICONs folder. Once you have opened ICONs up highlight each folder until you see the gif (little picture) of the Just!Burn software. Once you have found that, write the number of that folder down. Then go back out the where you found the ICONs folder, scroll up and find the folder with the corresponding number to that gif you just found. More then likely it will be the 151580 folder, but again you have to do the above steps to make certain that is where it is. Double click on that folder and it should take you to another folder. That folder will more then likely be the 00D folder (but if it's not, that is ok too..it just should have three digits as a name). Double click on that folder and it will take you to another folder that has a three digit name (probably, but not necessarily 001). Double click on that folder. At that point you will see a Zipped file. Highlight that file and it should say that it's the Just!Burn software. If it does, you have found it! If not, email me and I will try to help you find it.

Next you have to create a new folder so you have somewhere to put it. Open another window in MyComputer and create a new folder on your C drive. I named mine JB. Once you have created the destination folder, you can just highlight that original Zipped file and click copy and then highlight your new folder and click paste. This should move a copy of the software to your harddrive. Once you have done that, you can take that restore cd out of the drive.

You need to unzip the file now. If you don't have an unzip software you can get one at www.hotfiles.com. I use WinZip, but most are good and will work. Unzip the folder..if it asks you what you want to unzip, you want to unzip (or extract) all the files in the folder.
Once unzipped you want to go back to My Computer and open the folder you created. In it it will have a folder called appl.zip. Double click on it. In that folder there are two, one called Burn and one called Install. You want the BURN folder NOT the install one. Double click on the Burn folder. You will see an Icon and named Install. Double click on Install and you are all set.

Oh and by the way. I didn't get this from a new group. I didn't get this from CeQuadrat. I didn't get this from Compaq. NONE of those idiots knew anyting about getting the software back on your pc. I have a little geeky friend that helped me. Good Luck!

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

If you have upgraded from win 98 to win 2k. your Cequadrat justburn software may not work especially for compaq coputers EZ series. you may get error like SCSI host adapter not found and recorder not found.

The answers is to download another CD burner software which is compatible with win 2k/xp and its free. No need to buy a new software. go to WWW.tinyurl.com/mddx, download it and delete the justburn sofware from your system.
good luck

Zip file 151580.ZIP is where I found the install files on my restore disk. Use "find file" to find It on the disk. Un-Zip to a temp dir and run setup.exe. Good luck!!!

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn software updates?

Are there any updated drivers for this software online somewhere? Thanks.

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

This is what Compaq has provided me. I hope it works. Hi Eric,

The simple answer is click start \ compaq support \ compaq quick restore or SELECTIVE whichever you have listed \ you will see various applications one of which should be just burn, just double click it to reinstall.

in the event that it is missing from your selective restore - this is a little more complicated (if this fails, you can request that we send you sp12233)

For the following it gets a little complicated - call in if you need support

QRIA Commands (Manual Software Load Commands)
Click on Start
Click on My Computer
Double click on (D:) drive
Double click on the CPQDRV folder
Double click on the ICONS folder
Highlight each .gif file until the gif that represents the desired application or driver is found
Example Just Burn 151580-00D-001

Write down the six digit name of the gif file
Example (just burn = 151580)
Click on the Back button on the toll bar
Double click on the numbered folder that corresponds to the number recorded in the previous step
This will display another folder which will be 3 digits in length. Write this folder name down.
Example (B2A- you will need to double check this)
Double click this folder to display the final folder name required write this folder name down as well
Example (003 - double check this also)
Close all open windows
Click on Start
Click on Run
In the "Open" field type C:\CPQS\QUICKSR\QRIA (first 6 digit number written down)-(second 3 digit alphanumeric number)-(third 3 digit alphanumeric number)
Example: C:\CPQS\QUICKSR\QRIA 151308-B2A-003

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

Hi Eric!

I was so glad to see your reply to Christina! I tried the Compaq Support just like you told her, and it did restore the CeQuadrat onto my desk top, but when I clicked on it, a window popped up telling me "CD RECORDER NOT FOUND!!" Then after I pressed ok, it did take me 'in'but the RECORD button which used to be RED is now Grayed out! I can no longer Record music! :( Please Help! Am I supposed to put in the Quick Restore Disk also when going into Compaq Support???

Thanks,
Yasmin

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

I have tried this "solution" along with every other thing compaq/hp and others have suggested, still my Just!Burn program is worthless. I did however discover something I don't think we were suppose to know. The error only happens when trying to copy a single artist's full cd from sites like Kazaa that were released within the past month. If you copy the older songs there is no problem at all. I have tested this a total of 10 times and get the same result. You can also do a various artist cd with the new songs, but as soon as you get 4 or more fromt the same artist, Just!Burn will reject it and give you that pretty little message we are all encountering now. I may be just a homemaker but I know not it is not just a fluke that everyone's program began "acting up" at the same time. I have questioned compaq/hp and am getting the royal runaround. NO SURPRISE THERE!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! If I find the true solution I will post it here. Please email me if you find it first. My email is sandraclower@citlink.net

i bought a floor model computer and they did a restore on it before they allowed me to take it. I am now having the same problems as everyone else...what do i need?

Re: CeQuadrat Just!Burn doesn't work

Yes, You can use any kind of cd-burning software you like. I now use Easy CD Creator5. When I first got my Compaq, I called the company and insisted they send me the software, just for this reason.

how do i make a audio filter ?

can anyone help me ?pls

Re: how do i make an audio filter ?

There are numerous types of audio filter, so your question is far too vague to answer.

What type of filter do you want to build? How do you intend to use it? The more info you provide, the better chance you have of a decent answer.

Audio Cassette to PC

Several messages ago the same question was answered

My suggestion to make archival copies of your previously purchased music, or personal recordings. Cassette, or LP then I would suggest LP recorder, and LP Ripper, to accomplish your objectives. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/LPRecorder/

Then converting them to MP3 files, or making archival copies from your CD try Cdex 1,40 it is free software.
http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cdex/

Another good program to have is MP3Decode. It is a fast, high quality, and easy to use decoder to convert all those mp3 files you have collected to WAV? Allowing you to create the WAV files needed to for Audio CD Rs that play on a good number CD players. http://www.etalonsoft.com/mp3decode.html

Converting Scorewriter Files

My daughter has written several songs using Score Writer. I now want to be able to convert them to MP3 and eventually make a music CD.

I'm confused as to what do I need to accomplish this, (software).

Any help would be greatly appreciated as she has a show at school this week.

Thanks

Re: Converting Scorewriter Files

Go to file 'export' which turns it into a midi file.
You then need to covert it into a wave file or (.wav) using 'Reality'(music sequencing through realistic sounds) or a free conversion download from the internet.
Then all you need to do is burn a cd with something like Easy CD Creator, i'm sure you could download something for free as well.

Good luck
