Also, I have worked my way through many a crappy Japanese translated manual and managed to come through in the end. If your using borrowed software and can't figure out your way around it, maybe your should be doing something that more suited to your aptitude.

The easiest way I've found is to run the audio from your record player (that does not have a pre-amp) through a standard reciver, out any of the audio out, and use a dual rca (like the connectors on the back of the reciver) to 1/8 inch stereo jack (like headphones)into the line in on your sound card.

1. Don't use OMS. You don't need it.
2. Check on the Midi setting make sure you set the interface to No OMS.
3. To be sure that Cubase recieve midi signal, set up one of virtual synth and play your keyboard.

Jon is right. As I pointed out a while ago, there is no such thing as a CDA format. A CDA file is just a shortcut which points the player in the direction of the song. If you look at an audio CD on a computer, you'll see that all the CDA files are only 1k in size. The actual song file is basically in WAV format, and will usually be 30M or more in size.

In terms of recording cassettes/LPs, it's not really the software that's important - almost anything capable of recording 16-bit, 44kHz sounds will do. The most important factor is the quality of the input. If this is poor, then no matter how good the software, the result will be poor. I use Cool Edit 96, and find it to be excellent for recording anything. As for the two you mention, I've never come across them before, but as I said, they'll probably be okay.

There is probably a way as the Apple is very Script driven if you want it to be.

You could get it to boot up when you boot into the computer but how depends on the operating syste, you are using.

OS9 (and earlier) = Put and Alias of the iTunes appplication in the folder My HD>SYSTEM FOLDER>STARTUP ITEMS (enabled).

OSX = SYSTEM PREFERENCES>LOGIC>LOGIC ITEMS (just ADD one but make sure it's the alias of the application you want to boot or the application itself).

OSX is better at this sort of thing as it's easier to see what is going on and you don't have to move stuff in and out of folders.

The above will boot the iTunes application but I don't know how you make it play anything once it's booted. OSX for me boots iTunes and starts playing a audio CD if it's in the drive. Must be possible with apple scripts..
