Most CD-burners have software that is just about idiot proof bundled with them.

Formatting CDs

Do different software programs require formatting a CD prior to burning? Sometimes, I've skipped the formating process and it appears to be okay. Other times, problems arise, but I'm thinking it's because of the incompatibility between say... Roxio 5 and Nero. I have each one on a separate computer and sometimes it's a pain.. they seem to be in direct conflict with each other. I've attempted to make them friends, so they will work well with each other, but they're both stubborn. Oh well. Any suggestions? I forgot why I wrote this. (kidding)

cd burning problem

i got a problem with my computer. its got a samsung SM-308B cdrw in it and im using the creative jukebox to burn cd's. the problem, although they play ok on the computer after the disc has been burned and closed, they wont play on cd walkman, the cd just spins and spins and doesnt appear to find anything to thread onto. do you think i should try different cd burner software? any other ideas? much appreciate it

My first thought is to ask whether you're burning MP3s onto the disc. Your portable player wouldn't recognize them. An obvious suggestion, but some people don't realize they need CD Buring hardware to burn discs.

--- I am burning wav's - the software converts them first from mp3 format. + i have burnt wav's separately to test and they didnt work either. i rang the retailer and they said its the discs themselves - apparently some are better than others at being readable in all kinds of cd players. Im using my Sony Cd Walkman as a yardstick - so far i have tried Philips CDRW and CDR, Emtec CDR and TDK CDR - with none of these working. I have a CD burner before, the cd's produced from this (tdk) work fine on my cd walkman - so now i feel it may be the cd burner with the problem (although cd's burnt can be read fine if played back on the cd burner). im quite experienced with cd burning but this has stumped me. HELP ME! Pleeasse!

PC restarting itself when playing an audioCD caused by Audigy

Ever since i stuck my Audigy in my PC it started. EVERYTHING runs smooth as hell - except that when i play an Audio CD in any CD player, and work on a document at the same time, The computer RESTARTS itself losing all my work.

I've noticed it does it when the program i'm using writes to the hard-drive, for example if i save my work it will almost always restart the PC instead. And when it does it, it's the same as if i hit the restart button on the front of the PC Tower - completely instant without warning or signs of crashing.

I have a dual-boot setup, and it only occurs in Windows ME (not suprising), doesn't happen in Windows 98SE.

I'm sure it's just windows ME showing how much of a waste of money it is. But has anybody else experienced this and discovered the cause or a cure?

There is one software called Streambox. By this you can convert any audio file from realplayer into either MP3 or Wav. I have tried it myself.

If you use DP2.7 and above, Audio tap plug in can do that easily. Just play .ra file and record to DP. After that you can convert the sound file to whatever.

Download and install dBpowerAMP Music Converter(dMC). Then go to Codec downloads, http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ra.htm
Download and install the Real Audio Encoder and Decoder. That's it! All above downloads are free!!!

Hi there,

I have a question..

i have made a wicked tune in reason 1.0 i tried recording my vocals in sound forge 5.0 which came out fine. i then used recyle 2.0 to convert it to a rex file again it sounds fine. i then opened reason and loaded my vocals into dr rex. half way through my vocals my voice seems to fade. does any one know how to solve this problem i just want the volume to stay the same all the way through my vocal.

p.s. the volume stays the same in sound forge and recycle.

You should be able to use any audio recording program. Just set the record device to "wave" if it's available, or "all" hit record, then play away.

its in good shape, everything works. radio sounds perfect, LOUD. antenna mint condition, all percussion, drums, tempos work flawlessly. adjustable tempo speeds, dual cassette PERFECT FOR DUBBING. input jack for microphone and other components.

i used it for few months when i bought it new in 1980's.

its been sitting in my closet since.

i got the CASIO ck-500 ck 500 manual too.

a PC, you have to feed it through an amplifier first, so
why not use the proper speakers?

I might be wrong, but a bass run is similar to a guitar riff. It's a short bit of music, sometimes the bass run can be the hook in the song. Listen to The Who's 'My Generation', there's a good example there when Entwhistle plays a damn flashy bit just before Keith blasts his kit across the room.

I have 300+ lps that i would like to record to cd that will play on the player in my truck and both of my inhouse cd players that do not play mp3 files, since some of these records are old I would like to remove some of the pops and scratch sounds. Can you recommend some thing?

If you have a look in the software section under vinyl restoration,
you'll find several programs that allegedly clean up recordings from
LPs. Unless anyone can recommend one in particular, I'd just download
a few and try them, see which one you like.
