First thing, this isn't a site for cracks or warez. In fact, I'd be surprised if your post doesn't end up getting deleted.

$12 isn't much, but I figure it is if you don't live in USA. <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/FruityLoops_win95/">Fruityloops is great</a>. Try <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SonicFoundryAcid/">ACID Xpress</a> if you want to audio sequence. It'll work and it's free.

It's tiny (runs on shitty computers :D ) and does a good job!!(at least, I've been able to do some pretty amazing shit with it, 8D just using samples from a mike and the samples it came with...never mind all the sounds you can make with the FREE Stomper synth which is also lovely!!). However, LDB is shareware, I can't afford it(I can't afford anything..it's $12!!!!) and I'm DYING to export the tracks as wave files!!

midi Sequencing and the JV1010

....what sequencer though? A computer based one? Does the JV have a sequencer that you are using?

Sometimes I have moved bar one to bar three on computer based sequencers to allow external devices to 'get going' as sometimes those midi signals suffer a hiccup. If it's a computer based sequencer, then move the whole passage up a bar or two but always start playing on bar one (or two if the music starts on bard three).

ASF recorder help needed!

I keep getting the reply: 200-OK message on my ASF recorder when I punch in a URL. I understand that this was a common problem with these at one point. Can anyone tell me what the problem is here and how I can solve it?

This is caused by site of course, you don't have permission to that file you'r trying. It sometimes happens when the site-owner protects the files perfect, but there's always a solution for it.

I hope there is some wise spectral all knowing one who can let me know how I can run the Vsampler as an intrument from logic. I had no problems using it with cubase but don't know how I can make logic recognise it. Help me oh oracle. I'm very stuck

If it's a VST instrument it should be in a folder in the Logic folder (same folder as the application itself) called "VstPlugIns", exactly spelt. In logic, select a track as an instrument channel. Go to the track mixer and find that instruments channel. In the top most selectable box, click and hold (like you would for an insert effect) the box and select the VST instrument. Double click the instrument (in blue now) for the controls.

These are based on Macintosh Logic and may or may not work with a Windows version.. I don't know

converting vinyl to cd

A friend gave me a cd of a song he recorded and miixed/mastered on a Roland 8-track digital recorder. It plays fine on my diskman and home stereo. He want's me to upload it to his mp3 site. i put it in my mac cdr tray so i could encode it with my Music Match mp3 recorder (like i have a hundred times) and music match will not read it . It says "data cd in tray, put in a audio cd".

I tried to convert it to audio with Sound App and 3 other sound editors. None of them will not read it as audio. Any ideas? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

....see the files on the CD though? If so, highlight them and 'Get Info' on them It should tell you what they are in size if nothing else... What are the extensions??? (.xxx).

What Mac do you have? Have you tried it with iTunes?? It's free and burns CD's from wave's or Mp3's.

Got a new Xp-80. I'm sequencing, but I can't figure out how to assign different sounds to different tracks. When I select a sound for the second track, the first track switches to that sound too. Everything plays back on the same instrument sound. What am I doing wrong? The manuel isn't helping.

I suspect you are in some Moice mode rather than in a MultiTimbral environment. Check with the manual under things like "Performance Mode" and "Multitimbral Mode". This allows you to have different sounds per track that are related to the midi sequencer by the "Midi Channel" they a assigned to.

If you've got a PC with a soundcard and a CD/RW, you can do it yourself.
Otherwise, find a friend who can do it for you. It's not difficult.

You'll probably find that most commercial places won't touch short runs
of say four or five. Most will only do long runs of a hundred or so,
and you'll pay with various parts of your anatomy.

If you have the reel to reel player still working just take a line form the players out/phones into the rec/mic in of you PC and record using an audio editor. Something like Cool Edit would do it and I think it has built in 'clean up' tools which can remove hiss from old recordings. You can also EQ the recordings in an audio editor to make them sound better. If no reel to reel you will need to phone someone!

Peak Plug-Ins

I've got Peak for the Apple Mac, but i can't get the plug ins to come up when i open Peak, i've tried putting them in a plug ins folder and restarting, but it hasn't worked. Can anyone help me??

Hmmm.... They should be in a folder named exactly "Peak Plug-Ins" and depending on the version of Peak, you can have a VST plugins folder too as it will use many VST plugins. VST folder should be named exactly "VstPlugIns"

Some apps use plugin locators so if you have a bunch of programs that support VST plugins, they can all use the same VST plugins folder to load from which makes a lot of sense. I don't recall if Peak does this or not. Spark does.. I would have to boot it up to see...

Hi there!

Is there any software out there, with which I can at first pre-record a midi sequence, let's say something like a fill or so, then save all information (used banks, program, control change etc.), assign this sequence to one special key on my laptop and while playing the real midi keyboard in live performance adding these special sequences by hitting the predefined key in the moment I need it to be played back ?

Ok, seems a bit strange but I need to assign multiple effect and fill sequences to the keyboard, because, you know, a human person only has two hands ;-)

play records through computer like an amplifier

I have a turntable hooked up to my computer, and wish it to act like an amp, and I'm having trouble locating a program that will let me play a record, and have the signal go through the computer and out my speakers. I do not want to record the music at all. Does anyone have any ideas of programs out there for this? Feel free to send me email concerning it while I continue my search!

RIAA Pre-amp needed for you, not a computer. Sound cards aren't designed with a RIAA curved built-in system for inputs. Only line level or 1K~10K empedance microphone inputs are located.

What's more important is, does your turntable have a built-in RIAA pre-amplifier.
If it doesn't, then the tonal balance will be wrong, and everything won't sound right.
Also, you may find the output from the record deck is too low for the soundcard.
They're not amplifiers.
