How do I make string-sounds?

Hello!
Is there anybody who knows what program I need to make string-sounds like Blümchen or Sash has in their tracks? What I mean is the "background-sound"... It appears with a great depth... I hope anybody has an answer... //Robert

I am still looking for software where u can create music like: dance, trance, beat stuff. If it is possible something where you can just use a keyboard to do everything(sound, effects, etc.)I tried FrootyLoops but it is not exactly what i am looking for, just something using only a keyboard type of thing

audio sequencer is what u need

do u mean u have a good keyboard with great sounds built in? well if so + u want to record these sounds you will require an 'audio sequencer'. There are many about, N-Track, cool edit pro, cubasis, cubase, logic, goldwave, pro tools etc etc. some of these are called 'audio editors' too but they act as multi track recorders. Fruityloops will not record your keyboard but you could export the beats u do in fruityloops to cubasis sequencer then play along with your keyboard. If u don't import drums like this u could use a VST drum sampler in a sequencer to play your beats. I think cubasis takes VST instruments if not have a look around. So it sounds like what u need is an audio sequencer + other programs to create your backing bass+drums??

A program called Streambox Ripper can convert Real Audio to WAV...at least I think it can.

Depends. "Free" MP3 files excludes all commercial recordings, leaving those you've either done yourself or have the original author/record company's permission to distribute it. Otherwise, you're in breach of copyright (remember Napster?)

Some websites also won't allow MP3 files on their servers, so check that first.

Other than that, there are hundreds of MP3 sites around.

Unfortunately, because of the nature of MP3 files (i.e. the complex data and level of compression already used), most compression utilities (i.e. WinZip) won't make a dent on the size of an MP3 file. Typically, WinZip might reduce the size by 1%.

There may be utilities that can split files into smaller pieces, then join them back together again (anyone?).

Other than that, the only way possible is to upload the file to a website and get your friend to download it from there.

No Offence, but if you actuallu used your brain to understand what "convert" means.. Re-recording is not convert... You will for sure loose a few data... but.. if that's too much for you... forget it....

G-1000 keyboard zip disk

I need some help folks.
On booting up my G-1000, is does not scan the zip disk, therefore not reconizing it, and will not allow me to unmount it to get it out. Any ideas on what has happened will be appreciated. Thanks Wayne

sounds bad. could a few things. u can eject floppies by sticking a paper clip into a liitle hole by the slot - check your zip for one. if not u should be able to open the case up and push the disk out from inside. don't force it there maybe a little mechanism you can gently lift to allow disk to eject. when u get it out try inserting again + firing up. if still no scan a visit to the keyboard hospital would be advised!

I just downloaded a trial version of CoolEdit2000. I am still a bit new to this stuff. I have no problem editing music from files i got off of Napster, but i can't seem to edit music that is on a cd. Can someone please tell me why and how i can fix this?

hi jenna,

your problem as stated seem a bit vague! are you trying to edit a song opened directly from a cd? if so it's not possible because 'destructive' editing of a file involves saving it in a new state but a cd cannot be #written to# for this saving to take place! simply copy any cd track to your harddisk where this copy can be sucessfully re-written or edited + saved etc.
