You need to download & install adaptec's ASPI drivers from:

there is a gm.dls in windows\system
but there also is a install file that lets you use
microsoft software synthesizer which is very good
you can test it in dxdiag-music tab

When i choose a sound,I can play on my Studio Logic SL-880(fatar)(Midi Composer)
It needs 1 second before playing the sound i've choosed,This supose to be an known bug,Or has it something to do with money ??? :)

What file type are you burning to CD?

To burn audio CDs with no gaps requires software that supports DAO (disk-at-once) burning, most do now. Check out <a href="/smm/programs/CD_Architect/">CD Architect™</a> and the <a href="/smm/cat/CD_BURNERS/">CD BURNERS</a> software section.

Boot Cd for Psx2 ??????

audiocassette to cd burner

Sure- connect the cassette to your sound card with a stereo cable, record the cassettes (if they hold music you'll want 44.1 16 bit stereo), and then burn the .WAV files you create.

My favorite software for this is an all-in-one package called RipEditBurn from www.blazeaudio.com. Usually I need to do some editing (trim silences at the start and stop, add EQ and normalization, etc.) and RipEditBurn lets me do that and then burn without switching programs.

Will the CD created be able to play on a standard stereo CD player such as the one in my car?

MIDI Drums

I have a Yamaha DTX 2.0 drum kit and I want to covert some WAV samples I have, which include acoustic drum sounds, to MIDI format for bulk dump into my brain unit so that I can use my pads to trigger the samples.
So far I havn't found any software that helps me do this, or maybe I just don't know how to use the software that I have found. The problems that I am facing is that when I convert to MIDI my samples are converted to poxy keyboard notes, which is not good when you want a snare sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some midi sequencers on the download section
support sample assignment on midi notes. You can assign specific pads to play specific samples (low latency is crucial if you want to hear the samples while playing on the pads).
I trigger drum samples using the A0 DK1 cubase virtual instrument on Cubase (I write the midi tracks and the samples follow them).
Cheaper sequencers support this method too...

Tape Sync with Roland JW-50

I have a borrowed JW-50 for as long as it takes me to sequence a 2 hr set, but my keyboardist keeps failing to produce the manual for it. Since he can't figure out how to stripe a tape with a sync signal, I'm groping in the dark for answers.

Anybody got a clue? Cuz I don't . . . LOL HELP!!

If your CD burner supports it, burn the disc in Disc-at-Once mode and not in Track-at-Once mode. That will get rid of the two second gaps.

Easy CD creator allows you to have a gap of zero seconds between tracks. I have made mix CDs using Easy CD creator and there is no perceivable delay between tracks. The transition is seamless!

How to do it...

1) Create an audio CD
2) Drag tracks into "CD Layout"
3) Right click on one of the tracks
4) Open "Properties"
5) Set Audio pause to "00:00"
6) Make sure this is set for all the tracks on the CD

Note: This is using Easy CD Creator 4.01

Maby it's your CD-R that doesn't support it.
I did try to make a CD like that recently and here's my sequence.
I gathered some pieces of music (no disco shit) and used wavelab to make one (1) seamless track, which I cut into apropriate pieces that went on my nero's new cd folder.
Then I checked if the 2sec gap was off (settings) and burned it.
It worked fine for me but since I got an expensive SCSI 12x CD-R, I can't guarantee it works for all.

Most company sites have CD-R desriptions, about this matter...

CD burning- song length distortion

anyone know why when recording a 5 min song, only the first 1.40 min gets written onto a CD. i've tried using windows media player and adaptec easy CD and they both do the same. Please help, as i want the song on CD to play at a freinds child's funeral.

you'll be after an 'audio editor' there are many. cool edit pro, goldwave etc. u would load all tracks into one and cut/splice + paste your masterpiece.

select 'burn data cd' in your cdburner software and burn away. you won't be able to play these file formats/the cd in a standard cd player and infact a cd player won't recognise a data cd. but you can safely play them from an cdrom drive on a pc. only cda plays on a cd player!
