Software to convert midi to mp3 or mp3 to midi

There are softwares to convert wave to midi, cda to wave and others but there is no software which convert mp3 to midi or midi to mp3 format. if there are any software which makes the above format please let me know. i will be very thankfull to you.

MP3 is *sound* stored in a compressed form.
It is not directly linked to music.
MP3 files can be uncompressed to produce a
sound wave that might be very complicated and
*MIGHT* include music.

MIDI is totally different and is a sequence of
signals used to tell synthesizers and sound cards
which notes to play and which voices to use.
MP3 cannot be converted directly to midi although
a single recorded instrument in MP3 format might
possibly be converted by "voice2mid"

I have a iomega zid cd drive. And to burn songs of napster on to a blank cd you have to transfer the .mp3 file to a .wav file and I am not sure how to do that. Do you have to have a certain program or can you do it with out a program. Thank you please e-mail back soon.

If you have a sound card that doesn't have a midi connections they make a cable that plugs into a standard joystick port and has two midi connections on the other end, most computer stores carry them, I just got mine last week, however I am having trouble getting my computer to realize that is connected, If you know how to do this I would appreciate any help

help can't burn cd

Help. I'm using the "easy cd creator" and it keeps on telling me that I need to make more temp space on my harddrive. Than it says to refer to online help and I can't find any help. Is there anyone out there that can tell me how to create more temp space?

BPM Studio v3.0 - Possible Bug?

I have BPM Studio v3.0 and have run into a very annoying problem that I hope is not a bug, I hope it's something that can be resolved by amending settings etc. This is how it goes:

Following synchronising the sound cards I monitor the track and you can hear that it's perfectly synchronised, but as minutes tick away the track in the monitor becomes very slightly unsynchronised - if I pause the track and restart it everything is back to normal again but this makes it useless if I'm trying to mix.

I've tried a different soundcard, but I get exactly the same problem. Any ideas would be very helpful - thanks people!

recording internal audio on mac

I can do this on my pc with my aopen software which
has a mixer which can record wavs from any of the
sources eg.CD,midi etc.
I want to do it on my mac as well,is there any
software to do this?
All the applications I have only record from CD,
mic or AV,they record nothing that is being
"played" by any other applications,like streaming
audio or demo-ware

I work in the video industry and use a hell of a lot of music when cutting sequences. Unfortunately to use copyrighted music costs the earth and even MCPS stuff aint cheap.
So basically I'm looking for something (preferably free and maybe on the mac altho pc is fine) just to quickly knock up something big beat style, u know bit of drums bit of bass, just so my life has a bit more variety. Any suggestions?

I recently recorded a spoken word gig by one of the world's top poets and it's excellent except for the electrical hum which appear halfway through.

I can only guess that it came from mixing desk in the venue (not my dept.). Where it came from is immaterial to me. We have permission to mass produce the recording but i need to remove the hum before producing my final master.

Are there any functions in Soundforge which could do this ? Are there any other pieces of software which could do the job ?

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Look around the web for a good parametric EQ,
then use a narrow but deep filter at the frequency of the hum,
and widen it until it's diminished. Usually hum is at 120 Hz
60 Hz and 240 Hz.

You could also add some noise gating, but I'd only do that if you
know how to use one, and if the noise is lower than the main recording feature.
It might make things sound unnatural, but if you're gonna mix later, it could help.

hello.

i am a bit lost. i'm not sure wich program to download. the only synth program i've use before was "mtv's music generator" for Playstation. i've become pretty familiar with assembling songs and such. so i was wondering which program i should get. i'm looking for one that's not too difficult to pick up, but has room for growth. i'm looking to create some amient stuff, nice and mellow.

Direct Recording (Guitar/Pedal to Computer...)

I need to directly record from my guitar pedal to my computer...my pedal allows this (an out jack to either plug into an amp, or a mixer) I just don't know where I can get an adapter to go from a guitar plug to something I can plug into my compter (headphone jack lookin thing) It anyone knows how I can do this, it would be a great help.
