I am searching for a copy of Maximum Load "Riding Through The Dandenong Ranges" released in the early 70s in Melbourne. Any info or leads to where i can obtain this obscure aussie classic would be much appreciated. Thanks.

From what I remember the song was performed by British comedy duo Peter Cook and Dudley Moore?? I was living in Melbourne at the time.

Jane Clifton played it yesterday afternoon on ABC Radio 774 3LO as an introduction theme for her bicycle touring guest. I don't know if this helps but maybe contact 3LO. I've been searching for this myself for some time.

I'm afraid I can't help but I'm also searching. I've tried all the second hand record shops in Melbourne without success. I understand that Maximum Load was a folk group that got branded as a comedy group on the strength of this song and then lost their identity because they couldn't keep up with the expectations.

I have a copy of it, but I don't know where you'd find a copy yourself. It's a classic Aussie track which should be more commonly available (IMO).
