ez cd creator

win 2000 w/ latest version of ez cd creator. the cd rom test, audio extraction resync @ 50% causes the system to hang. any ideas?????? thanks.

LM4 editor troubles

I lost mine also, but you can download iTunes for mac and it will allow you to interface between the computer and your rio.

NAB Tones, SMPTE, and other standards

It seems that the bimbos of programming in California
and Washington have forgotten how to be professional.

First, if you're going to record anything that you want
to market, it's got to be done in standard format. And
that means you have to have an NAB Standard Reference.

I haven't seen a sound program, or a computer, yet, that
adheres to the NAB Standard Reference for Zero DeciBells.

You can't set your VUE Meter levels, Bar Graph VU-Type
levels, and you can't broadcast crap that doesn't adhere
to the National Association of Broadcasters Standards on
any radio or television without such established reference.

We have professional gear, a real recording studio, and
when we try to incorporate any software, including CakeWalk,
which we've purchased, it's a problem because the PC
has no standard tones and neither does the software.

Yet in all these years of ballyhooing about how great
the computer and the Internet are, not a single alleged
professional has mentioned these standards.

Then there's the SMPTE Code for syncing music to film and
video . . . are there really any professionals talking
anywhere? I don't really see any. You look on a movie
credit to see who did the sound recordings and see if
they did any of it with the crap that goes out to unwary
Internet music users and aspiring artists. I don't think
so. I think they know better than to depend on engineers
and programmers to do a musician's job. If you want a
music program, then get a musician, a real one, an educated
one, and a professional to tell you how to do it, not
some garage bred teenyhacker from the Valley.

While I've played Amsterdam, I'm not so sure I'm the Terry James
you're talking about.

There's at least one other, who hangs out in Holland and Denmark,
I think.

I was just looking around to see where Musics.com is found on the
Internet by search engines.

It's gotten very confusing.

Softster and Napster

First, Napster and others, funded by the big software
companies, want to steal billions of dollars from the
lawful owners of copyrighted music. Then, they don't
want any of their software stolen. What was good for
the goose is not good for the gander, as long as the
software companies can continue to steal from musicians
they are happy.

The software companies, Napster in particular, call their
theft "sharing." It's stealing and carries a $250,000.00
fine per occurence and up to one year in jail. And the
software companies and the guys who write this theft
software should go to jail, that includes Napster and
others.

You can't impose a duality on copyright law. Sending
music over the Internet with a program that effectively
'distributes' copyrighted music is a federal offense in
the United States. If, however, you can share music, then
you can share programs. So, if you have the source code
to Napster, it's as legal to share it as it is to use
Napster to share copyrighted music.

Now, let's see the software companies try to wiggle out
of the mess they've created for themselves.

I felt this had to be said because the boys who formed
Napster and wrote the program hobnob with Bill Gates,
Steven Jobs, Steve Case, and the others. They all want
to be able to steal music and movies, but they want a
different rule for their software.

Well, you can't have it both ways boys, you have to pay
just like people pay you.

The founders of Napster should have been jailed by the FBI
and charged with Racketeering because that's what it is
when you steal copyrighted music. The Mob was prosecuted
in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's in New Jersey for it, and
so should the little boys in California who founded
Napster because they distributed copyrighted music
without a license, no different than the Mob did.

Or did someone get paid off in California?

try tactile 1200 demo on this website www.tactilepictures.com u can actualy set up your machine with a djmixer as well if u have the correct leads

I use it only for listening my mixings in process at home (I'm a recording engineer) and I'd like to use it for making digital copies too, but it only has a 7-pin multupin link for digital in/out and I haven't found yet an adapter for converting to Coaxial S/PDIF (or AES/EBU)
Looking for it at SONY Web page is almost impossible.
Anybody knows? Thanks
