I haven't used any of these programs myself but we do
have a category for video editing software on this site

Most of the programs in the Windows area talk about
AVI files but some of them can probably import MOV
files.

There are also some which are completely free like
<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/DDClip_Free/">DDClip Free</a>.

Please post back and tell us if you find which ones
can either import or directly edit MOV files.

i don't believe you can do that in real time. i don't know how your amp emulator works. but there is a program called "pedal effects" that lets you put 8 different effects on an incoming signal. there is like a 22 millisecond delay or sommething like that, but its not so bad. if you could email me with information about the amp emulator (please please please) i could email you with some info about the pedal effects.

What you will need to do is copy from your tape to the hard drive. It's a simple case of using a simple cable from the OUT of your stereo to the LINE IN of your sound card. Download a <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/AUDIO_EDITORS/">decent audio editor</a> which includes noise reduction to remove any hiss. Then hit play on the stereo and record on the editor. Once you've recorded, use the editor to clean up the recording and then convert to MP3.

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a> is great for doing this if you have the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/CE_Audio_Cleanup/">Audio Clean-Up plugin</a>.

Hmm, well this is certainly a sensitive subject lately. Is it bootlegged mp3's, or just an audio cd burned onto a disc? Also, MP3 shouldn't be outlawed, instead of spending millions of dollars in court why doesn't RIAA work with the software companies to come up with a solution. A way to encode these so they can be played with certain software, but not converted, and burnt to disc to be played on an type of standard cd player. Keep it on the computer, and people will still have to pay for a disc for their car or home. I am working with a company right now who is in beta with an encoding process which will play part of the song then scramble the rest until the song itself is registered. Registration can be simply submitting your information to the artist, visiting the artist's site, taking a poll, and more. So this only proves there is more we can do, if the companies and organizations will pull together instead of fighting.
