What exactly do you need help with? If you're just starting with electronic music in general, you might want to search for tutorials on MIDI and how synthesizers work. It might be good to get some general background on digital audio as well. I'm not at home right now, so I can't give you any URLs offhand for this kind of thing. If you're interested drop me an email; I'll send you some of the notably good sites.

Try a download manager like Go!Zilla or Get Right.
I'm using Go!Zilla myself and I'm very pleased with it's many features. There's a free version available over here.

indexing and reindexing a WAV or CD

I burn my own mixed CDs on a standalone CD recorder from 2 turntables, a mixer. Using the standalone unit saves me alot of time and stress 'cause I can restart as often as I like and it sits on the same countertop with my DJ set where my tape deck used to be. I first burn them onto a CDR-W then using my PC, I record the completed CDR-W to a WAV file or onto a data CDR. Unfortunately the entire 70-74 minute session comes out as a single track. I need a program that will allow me to cut up this single track to as many as twenty tracks. At this time, I can only do this if I replay the whole CDR-W while physically indexing the new CDR-W. I used to make 90 minute tapes that took two hours to make from boot up to shut down, now I'm making 74 minute CD that take three hours to make. HELP!

i have tryed a few but they didnt allow me to do that, just ran a routine.
prefer shareware but even more expensive ones will do..

Being an old twat...and, it seems, depressingly out of
touch with the latest jiggery-pokery, I find myself
threatening my new G3 I-Mac with capital punishment
far too often these days. it's a fuckin' glorified
soft fruit/paperweight, and no more! So i've decided to go back to
basics. In my humble Junglist pretentions over the last
decade, one thing sticks in my mind. Fasttracker + Pc= Bosch!!
But I can't find it, anywhere... sad I know, so I'm old and dumb.
So sue me! Actually....scratch that. Erm... does anyone know
