Cd burning
First I am completely new to the downloading of mp3's from the net, and also I have just recently purchased a cdr-cdrw cd burner, The question I have is there a way to convert mp3's in order to play on a car cd player? If there is, how do you burn a cd to play mp3 music on a car cd player?

Please if you find out tell how. I just bought CDRW and I downloaded several mp3 audio files. I would like to know how to uncompress them and then convert it to music CD. I need some help

It depends on what type of audio format your CD-R drive can burn to CD. Usually, you can only burn WAV files to a CD, but if you have MP3's you have to convert them to the WAV format. Go to a search engine and try to find Shuffler Music Converter.

I just got a cd-r several days ago, with Nero Burning Rom, and it supposed to be able to convert Mp3s into CDA format. I will try it and let yall know how it goes

Ok. its very easy. Using Nero, all I did was make Winamp stream whatever mp3s I wanted into wav (goto preferences, select the disk writer plugin, and choose a dir), and play. After that, I fired up Nero Burning Rom and simply followed the Wizard. I was able to burn 15 songs with no prob. Just make sure you have ALOT of disk space on your HD, since exploding mp3s into wavs take up ALOT of space!

I would love the help. I have download a lot of songs from the internet, imesh and Napster. They play great. Now I would like to burn them on the CD-R. I have ordered the Nero Buring Program. Could you help me.

There is a program called mp32wav
you can download that from
http://www.canada.cnet.com/downloads/0-10080-108-52004.html
site.
Download that mp32wav converter and convert all your mp3 to wav format. Now with your nero CD burning you can make audio cd from the converted wave files and that should play anywhere.

hey guys,
its easy...
on mac i use soundJam to convert the mp3s but SoundApp (freebie...prob on this site) does it too. convert MP3s into AIFF which you drop into Toast and it burns them as CD DA. no probs
on pc? same deal but you need to find a prog to convert mp3s to WAV (you can probably find one here or at www.download.com) and your CD-R software should do the rest.

1. Get a hip hop drum set from the hammersound soundfont site (www.hammersound.com) - drums and percussion section.
2. Steal some loops from old ACID loop libraries.
3. Sequence you own patterns for the sampled drums using a beat sequencer.
4. Use a loop player to play the loops: preferrably one that will let you adjust the tempo.
Use AUDIOMULCH. it has a beat sequencer for wav files, allowing you to print drum loops. Or use rebirth and Remaker in order to print drum loops.
Use ACID to sequence the final loops.

Out of 10 Hip Hop fans, 9 are either rappers or producers. There is no simple solution to making rap music, believe it or not, it's probably harder to make than rock music, because in rock music, instead of sampling (which can be pretty hard to do sometimes) all you need to do is take 5-6 rock stars that you jock (street for "admire") and copy their styles and say they're your "influences".

Yes, I think Adaptec Toast is one of the most versatile programs in handling a variety of formats
Converting Mac midi files
I want to be able to post my home made sequences on the newsgroup I use, the problem is that the files I post aren't readable by my friends.
I use Micrologic 2.0 by emagic and am using a powermac with os 8.1.
I would be most grateful

Have you tried saving the sequences as "standard" midi files ? They should be able to be read by your friends as long as their music programs recognize standard midi files, whether or not they're using Mac or IBM compatibles.
Free/small MP3 encoder
I want to save CD´s music onto my HD using a free small and easy MP3 encoder.
Only listening purposes. Does anyone know something like this ??

I just installed direct X 7, but it will not let me enable the AGP setting under display, I have a ASUS P3C200 Motherboard, AGP preferred boot in bios, Latest voodoo 3000 drivers, latest bios and latest directx.
Ant suggestions ?

Im using voyetra digitalorchestrato and would like to know if there is a more user friendly time streach plugin for it or a program that can make it more easy to fit samples to a tempo?
Record LPs to Wave.....how?
I have the Clean software and the right set up, but don't know exactly how to copy tracks from lp's to Wave files....I have Adaptec Easy Cd creator...do I use this or need even another software..? HELLLLLP!

wav sound to midi voice?
is there a program which will turn a wave file or a file i record with
a microphone and then turn the recording into a midi
voice?

Well there are loads .. most of them do not work very well .. if u have effects like echo, distortion , flanger etc .. the output midi file becomes a total chaos .. but if its just a voice through microphone or a tune stored in wave file (with no effects) .. thas quite possible.. search for wave to midi converters at hitsquad and u'll see loads of them ,, theres this new entry in the software section at 19th ,, havent checked that out yet .. sounds quite poromising go .. give it a go and tell us what u think ;)

Intelliscore can convert wav to MIDI. It is real nice because it works in real-time and also with WAV and MP3 files, even when there is more than one note at a time. Download their demo from http://www.intelliscore.net/

Well .. if u want to do it in one shot .. you wont be very happy with the results .. i tried that myself and left offs of lyrics are hard to remove.
TRy Analogue X's vocal remover as a DirectX or a Winamp plugin .. remove the vocals,, resample it .. use Xrazor to extract the beats out of the songs .. once you've got yur beat pattern .. use soundforge to remove the left offs of lyrics and intruments.

Use a software synthesiser like sim synth 2x. I am a digital musician and I know very little about MIDI.

There are loads of synthesis techniques they use for dance number these days .. to start with .. you can key in the tune through a midi keyboard if u have an AS blive or similar soundcard with a MIDI inrterface .. and then Calkwalk harmonize and create basic effects .. you can also use additional synthesis techniques .. use vocoder effect ( u know cher's Believe, dont wanna let u go .. etc etc )
try fruity loops .. you can actually create instrument based tunes or TS404 synthesizer

cooledit2k with what drum software
i just got cooledit 2000 with the 4 track plug-in. i'd like to get some drum software...i know of "drumtrax" which seems really good but you need a sequencer (to record full songs i guess)...i don't think this cooledit has that. what should i do/get?? how do i tie all this together?

Anvil Studio is wonderful
I was looking for a program that would let me compose music on the computer and print it as sheet music, and found Anvil Studio. I can't believe this program is freeware -- and the accessories, such as the sheet print utility, are extremely reasonable. Anybody would be crazy to pass this one up.
