The two packages I can safely say will be easy to use as well as highly effective are <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/HammerHead_Rhythm_Station/">Hammerhead</a> and <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/FruityLoops_win95/">FruityLoops</a>.

if anyone could help it would be most appreciated. i have 2 technics 1210 decks and a vestax pmc17a mixer, i also have a pc (pentium III 450) i would like to know how to connect the 2 sets of equipment as i would like to make a recording (for cd burning) of a dj set

but have no clue.

Connect the audio output of the Vestax to the audio input of the Computer. If it's a PC, you must have a sound card with an audio input. If it's a Macintosh then it will have an audio input built in. There is shareware recorders for both machines for download on this site. Download, select input, press record....job done....

get an mp3 encoder, i use audio catalyst, its isnt free, but it works www.audiocatalyst.com

Help! I cannot get my roland mc 303 to work with Cubasevst 3.7

This site link is shown on Rolandus.com for the
free software.. but the site is apparently down
(for weeks now) and would appreciate if anyone

Yes, and yes.

These are pro applications. Most midi sequencers have built in score writiers and are cheaper.

You will not get the same range of score features unless you buy a dedicated score program.

Can I feed my guitar into my computer?

Someone on ICQ suggested that instead of recording from a MIC, I can just feed the guitar through my soundcard (SBlive Value).

Now, I have a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 (130 watts). It has 6 jacks (1/4). 2 in front, for unput (high gain/low gain). 4 jacks in back:

1)Power Amp in 2
2)Preamp Out Mix/2
3)Power Amp in 1
4)Preamp Out dry/2

Those are exactly what are listed on the amp. I have no clue what they mean or do, since I never really used em before.

My Sblive Value has 1/8 size jacks, like Mic in, Speaker out, Digital Out, Line in etc. Dont know since i cant find any specs on my Value.

Anyway, would it be possible to feed my guitar amp to my Sblive, with a 1/4-1/8 adapter of course? If I did so, would it harm my computer or something? And where would I plug this stuff in? What jacks into which jacks?

Actually all you need to do is take a line out from
your Preamp Out Mix/2 and plug it (with an adapter
plug) into the Line In on your soundcard - do not
plug it into your Mic In or you'll blow your inputs.

The main thing here is to make sure you don't run
the cable between you amp and soundcard for more
than about 2 meters (6 feet) because unbalanced
cable may start to pick up noise over longer
distances.

So basically, I just use the Preamp Out Mix2 jack on my amp, and plug it into my LINE IN on my soundcard? And this wont blow anything or something like that? My amp is right next to me, so Im probly gonna use a 5ft or 10ft cord to my comp. I also plan on using my headphones. Is that a problem?

finally, will it sound like my amp when its through the speakers, or will it be very condensed and stuff?

: : Firstly, if you fed a signal from your peavey
into your soundcard, the most probable result would be one totally f***ed soundcard. All you need to do is to get an adapter which will enable your mono 1/4" jack lead to plug directly into the LINE INPUT of your soundcard. Then check your Windows vol control and SB configuration to ensure that line in is enabled and that should be that.

Wavelab won't recognize CDR

I just upgraded from Wavelab 2 to 3. Wavelab now doesn't recognize my CDR, a Smart and Friendly 4012. I talked to Steinberg support and they directed me to an update on the web site, but I still get no recognition of my burner. Since it takes forever to get through to these guys and getting a reponse from Steinberg to my email is a joke, I'm wondering if anyone might have a suggestion. Everything worked swell with Wavelab 2.02, but Im sort of dead in the water right now. I have a PC, Pentium II 350 mhz with an Adaptec SCSI and a MOTU 2408 as a sound card. I'd appreciate any advice.

burning with pitch control

I have several mp3's that I would like to convert to cd so that I can play them on a regular cd player. The problem is that the pitch of the mp3's in question is too slow (probably made from an old turntable). What do I use to raise the pitch of the mp3 as I burn it to cd?

Rather a lot of info to sift through, but it looks as if the drivers are installed in the system,but not loading with the program.
First check your multimedia settings for GigaSampler, but of great importance is the size and (Particularly) the SPEED of your Hard Drive. When Installing it should have done an HD check for these properties - perhaps that can be run again, but if th HD performance stats don't come up to scratch, nothing will get GigaSamp into action excepting the puchase of a new FAST harddrive, e.g. udma IDE or a good SCSi.

Anyone have the full version of the mp3-plugin for Cool Edit?

HI

I never heard of sound files with a doc extension,
only of text files to be used in MS Word. In that case you can forget about converting cause you'll never change a text file into a soundfile. If you were able to download those files I suspect they aren't too big and possibly they are MP3 files or something like that. Have you tried to change the extension doc into MP3?

The only .doc format I know of are word processor
files like MS Word* and Word Perfect*

As I've never heard of any audio files like this the
only way I can think of to convert them to .wav files
is to use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/TotalRecorder/">Total Recorder</a>.

Hey thanx, i'll check that out
What the problem was is that the shows are shn extensions, but they download as doc files for some reason, thats why i needed to convert them back. Thanx for the help though, i'll check it out.

midi keyboard and PC connection

After following directions on how to connect my keyboard do my home PC I was able to test it for acceptance according to the instructions on the book. It reacted by playing a song out of the PC. Yet, my inttention is to be able to play the board while connected and see notes coming on the scores as I play. The book says it should go that way but I'm not getting it. Dear helpers

I bought recently a "Music write program plus" and liked a lot the possibility of writting my music with real notes to drag around, in comparison to the Digital Orchestration Pro I had for a while. With Digital I would file my midi music to the general files under "FILES AND FOLDERS" from the start button. With Music Write Plus the files stay with the very finished page under files and won't go to the general files. Could you tell me why this is happening? I can't attach my songs to the email if the files are not found under files and folders.

:Check your menu bar at the top of the screen for anything that says "Settings",Options" "Preferences"or
"Default Folders".
There you will be able to define exactly which folder your work will be saved to. (The Windows natural default folder for anything unassigned is "My Documents". The Files & Folders in the Start button programs is merely a search of your computer for whatever files you enter.. but it will tell you the location of any files it finds.
By the way, editing "Settings, "Options" or "Preferences" on the first running of any new program should be one of your first priorities.

Plain vanilla please

Can anybody help me with the following. All I want do
do is download mp3 files, convert them to wav files and
write them to mu cd-rw rom. Also I downloaded some
winamp media files and would like to know how I can
convert them if I can. I have tried a bunch of the
different things advertised on the net and have bought
most of them but so far am having trouble getting
everything coordinated. Anybody who can help me I would
sure appreciate it. please reply to seyah3@juno.com.

ERRORS when trying to burn cds

Hi, I am using Adaptec 3.5 software and I have a RICOH RW 7040A. I have burnt a few cds (data and audio) and they've worked fine. But now I am trying to add a file on to a RW disk and get these errors:
T0100: I/O error (06/C5/00) - Write error - buffer underrun occurred
T0100: I/O error (06/C5/00) - Write error - buffer underrun occurred
T7118: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed
D0100: I/O error (03/90/82) - sense code 0x90

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I have to get a homework project on the disk this weekend!!!!!!

ha , i hade a similar problem . try burning cd on a slower speed ore try simulating on 1x not opn 2xif u try on 2x a errors apeard
