Need Help! indexing a 74 minute continious mix cd
Here is the problem, I have a 74 minute continious mix that I am burning to CD. Only I have no way to put indexes between each song.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Need Help! indexing a 74 minute continious mix cd
You can create indexes using Sonic Foundry's CD Architect. Your CD burner also has to support indexing.

Set list or song list program?
Does anyone know of any programs that will make printable set list or song list for bands? I've used the Microsoft Spreadsheet, Office, Excel, etc, etc. Is there any that makes it easier to make a list for onstage use? Thanks.

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/The_Song_Librarian/">The Song Librarian</a> is mainly intended for
playing set lists live but it also has a feature
to print them out.

How do I keep voices and remove music?
Hi!
I have SoundForge 4.5 and Cubase VST/24.
How do I keep the voices and remove the music?
Can I use one of those programs,
or do I need some plugin or other program?
/Käse
Re: How do I keep voices and remove music?
Ive been wanting to find out the same thing. let me know if you find anything out.
Re: How do I keep voices and remove music?
Hi!
I tried different techniques to achieve it, but could not make any success. As much as I know and understand the problem, it is not possible. There is no plug in on the market that can do the trick.
Removing the vocal is possible only because it is a mono component in the stereo mix - it means that you can remove only what is identical in the left and right channels of the stereo. Vice versa is not possible.
Greetings, Atan.

can't say i've ever done it but how is this in theory?
u can get plugins which remove the vocal, by taking away the sound that is common to both l and r channels, as voice is normally not seperated for stereo. couldn't you then just take away what you end up with (the stereo seperated music part of the sound) from the original, leaving the vocal behind
as i said, thats fromt he top of my head, haven't tried it as such.

Hey, what a cool Idea, Why dosn't someone do this? I'm too thick to code it. I'm sure the results will be filthy but better than not bothering. You can always mess around with the graphic equaliser to reduce the bassier noises. But dont expect any crisp accapello sounds - Best just trying to mask the crappy results with some clever effects. The only way to get proper vocals is pester the record lables for a copy of the original recording - will you get it? Will you puck!
Re: How do I keep voices and remove music?
What software would you suggest for keeping the music and removing the voices? I have the Voice Eliminator that works on records/tapes/cds but want to find software that works on mp3s.
Any suggestions?

Reading Roland sampler CD on a PC
Hi!
I've got some CDs for Roland sampler and I'd like to use some samples on a PC...of course I can load the
stuff to sampler, play it back and record it to a multi tracker running also on a PC, but this is very complicated and time consuming way...It would be nice to convert the whole thing to wav files...even to one
big wav would do. I know, there are conversion tools for converting Roland floppy disks, so perhaps there is some kind of software available for PC that could read Roland CDs and extract the samples as wavs to local harddisk...after all, the sound data is same, the problem is only the way it is stored there as far as I understand...Any ideas appreciated, thanks!
Re: Reading Roland sampler CD on a PC
hey fellow sample addict ..
just use cd.extract v3.x it will convert each sample to wave or even convert each patch to .gig file
greatest convert proggy ive seen
and yes it reads Roland, akai , ... sample cds just great .. even plays em so u can hear em before convi

Sample/ Scratch program
I'm looking for a program (or two) that can take WAV files and scratch them simililar to how a DJ scratches them using a turntable and/or a good program to take and modify WAV samples. The closest I've come to finding anything worthwhile is AnalogX's "Scratch" program, but it can't handle the length of my songs. Right now I'm using Fruity Loops and Rebirth with both Cubase VST and Samplitude, while putting a mic on my guitar amp and running it through my sound card. I'd like something to add a "DJ" type effect- and have had no luck with Mixman Studio Pro, MIX-IT, or Carrot's Virtual Turntables. They are all great programs but don't do what I want. Any ideas? Thanx!
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
You bunch of idiots!
When will you learn!?
Especially you! You think that MJ studio is good to use for scratching? It's not!! That's not scratching! That's playing the song slower and faster, which is what you can do (better) with VTT. What the hell is wrong with your minds?
Learn!!
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
You think you're fuckin' funny posting blank follow ups?
Fuck you!
Fuck you all to hell!
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
my friend has it and its fun and i like the quality of it adam
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
get ots juke u can find it at musicshareware.com
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
I found it! EXACTLY the program I was looking for! It's called MJ Studio and can be found at http://www.d-lusion.com/products/mj/ . I played with the demo and then got my own copy very quickly. I own Mixman Studio Pro, MIX-IT, and Virtual Turntables- but this one takes the cake! Each program is good for it's own things- but MJ Studio is GREAT for overlaying and scratching samples. It supports mp3s and WAVs- nice! It also handles large files- even nicer! It doesn't have any effects like DSP or PCF but I have other programs to do that. Well- there you have my 2 cents- if you want to mix and create digitally and give it that "vinyl scratching edge"- try MJ Studio! :-)
Re: Sample/ Scratch program
I thanks for your reply~!
I was looking for some scratch samples but I can founded few.
MJ Studio is so cool!

Go to Goldenhawk.com (homepage), it lists certain writers able to read CD+G, I haven't manage to copy yet as we need a new Writer, ( we have a Ricoh) it isn't listed, if you have any development please let us know! You can deownload a demonstration copy of software capable of doing it, but it only operates at 1x speed which is fine for CD+g's.

Use plextor writer and clone cd.
Works perfect.
Re: cd+g karaoke to cdr converter software please
I have made perfect backup copies of CD+G (Karaoke CDs) using CDRwin with a Yamaha 4416 SCSI burner. Recently I upgared to a Yamaha 8824 SCSI with the newest CDRwin and it is unable to make clean backups of CD+G disks. I think that the Yamaha 8824 drive may be too new and the problem may be related to incompatibliity of the drives firmware and the CDRwin software.
