what "exactly" is a cda, i''ve got a disc with music on from winamp mp3 and need to copy it onto individual discs....any ideas!!!

Actually, it is a misconception that MP3s can't be edited directly. There are several freeware programs that can edit MP3s without decoding them first, which means there's no quality loss. The only problem with decoding an MP3, editing it and then re-encoding it, is that you lose sound quality. Try these freeware programs first.
MP3Trim is a program for removing silence from the beginning or end of MP3s and modifying the volume without decoding.

MP3Direct is a program that lets you edit MP3s directly and record directly to MP3 from your sound cards line-in with the freeware MP3 encoder LAME's DLL.

MPEG Audio Implementator lets you edit MP3s directly by time or frames. Don't be confused by the site. The program itself is in English.

You can decode it to WAV via WinAmp, edit it and encode again.
OR: (if you have enough bucks) Wavelab 3.0 !!
You can't edit MP3 directly, it's like a ZIP-File.

How do I Export file from Cakewalk (demo)

I have the Cakewalk demo version. I have tracks that I would like to export
to MP3 format. Cakewalk say to go to "Tools", "Mix Down Audio"
then "Export". However, the "Export" option is greyed out.
Cakewalk says that the demo version allows for up to ten Mp3 format exports.
Does anyone know how to get this option to work? What am I doing wrong?

I too am looking for an Encore newsgroup. Specigically, I have Encore, v4.1.2, and recently switched to a Mad G$ with Mac OS 9.2.2. WHen I go to print encore files, a lot of the vertical lines and diagonal ones get messed up. Know any fixes?

Remixing Software - Advice?

I am looking into attempting to make some remixes of my favorite songs using some of my many cd's and mp3's.

What software should I use to create mixes that isn't too difficult to learn to use, but isn't childish either?

My system is a 333Mhz with 64MB ram and a standard soundcard. Thanks!

I've been using Sonic Foundry's Acid. It matches the beats on the fly. You will need a WAV editor too.
