download the free demo of nero v5.0 for nero.com, that the program that has worked best for me. once you have the program it is pretty much self-explainitory.

Download a trial copy of LP Ripper from:

http://www.cfbsoftware.com.au

LP Ripper saves a lot of fiddly editing by automatically splitting a WAV recording of one side of a vinyl LP into separate tracks. It can also optionally call an MP3 encoder so you can fit 10 - 12 LPs onto one CD that you can play on your computer.

Step by step instructions on what you need and how to set it up are in the Requirements and Getting Started sections of the on-line help file.

get nero at freeware.com c-net downloads enter nero in search, after you get this u won't need to convert mp3's cuz nero records them to cd.

Free DirectX Joystick racing patch

DXDZFIX - Fixes the DirectX 5.0 to 7a joystick deadzone default.

This program and source is freely distributable freeware. Enjoy it!

The joystick deadzone is the area in the center where the joystick doesn't respond.
DirectX has its own notion of a deadzone (in DINPUT.DLL), and Microsoft has hardcoded the default to 5% of its full range.

Some DirectX games that use DirectInput (e.g. EA's Need For Speed II SE) Test Drive 6 etc, don't provide an option to set the deadzone and use the default.

This program patches the DINPUT.DLL to change the default deadzone setting.
It will affect all games that use DirectInput.

It has been tested with the DirectX version 5.0 and 7a
You can check your version from the DirectX Setup panel (under Control
Panel, Add/Remove Programs), and/or check the size of DINPUT.DLL
DINPUT.DLL, 175,616 bytes
DirectInput 4.05.00.0155

This Patch has to be run from a DOS console window.
Place the dxdzfixc and dxdzfix.exe in your C:\windows\system files, then from the MS dos prompt type in C:\windows\system\dxdzfix...
then press enter....
Note...Change the MS dos working properties to C:\windows\system
Like Magic, You should now have better steering:]

Usage: DXDZFIX 0 <C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DINPUT.DLL >DINPUT.NEW
COPY DINPUT.NEW C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DINPUT.DLL

Note: DXDZFIX 1 will set the deadzone to 1 percent, insted of the Microsoft defalt setting od 5% etc..

You should save your original DINPUT.DLL first.

Quad 5 Dolby surround sound simulation @ copyright 1996 M Cardinale

This is the Quad 5 Dolby Surround Simulator circuit...
Hookup the wires as shown in diagram...
The two components you need can be puchased at Radio Shack etc...
use a 100 UF filter Capacitor at 35 volt...
You can use up to 220 UF for more volume/lower midrange
Notes..
Do not hook up this circuit, without capacitors! you may damage you finals "IC or ouput transistors" All speakers must be of same ohms...
You may use this circuit in your home stereo, car boat, airplane, PC
Spaceship whatever:] Speical note...
You may also use this circuit to upgrade your current Dolby surround system...
Just place the Quad5's LR and RR speakers in front of your systems rear channels to add a left center and right center..Very Unique!

Burning Cds

Hi,
Okay I just got a burner and so Im not experienced with this. I have converted my mp3's to Wav's. I have the Adaptec Easy CD Creator software. I tired to burn a cd, but it only plays in my cd-rom drive, not in a regular cd player. I selected the option to make an audio cd, not a data cd... so Im not sure what the problem is! Could someone help me out ASAP!

In order to hear your CD in a regular CD player you need to put the CD back into your CD Burner and "Close" the disc. That's it.

not difficult. go to www.winamp.com and download winamp. then go to options, and choose the output to diskwriter which sends out the wave output very very fast for your mp3s.

Dart Pro 98 - Flickering sound when DeHissing in "real-time"

Hi all! I'm trying to use Dart Pro 98 to dehiss my audio cassette recordings before burning to CD. I would like to use the "test" feature so I can instantly hear the changes each adjustment makes to the music. When I try this, the sound flickers on and off. I'm using an IBM Aptiva, 13gig, AMD K6-2/500 with 96MB RAM (8 for video)and a "stock" soundcard (ESS PCI Solo-1). I have used Ray-Gun (demo) for this procedure with no problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Question about soundblaster card

My sound card is supposed to support full duplex but when I try to record it doesn't work. I am using Cakewalk 7. I can play along with the playback but can't record with it. All I get is a kind of ringing sound. My old lady is going nuts ince I spent this money on the stuff and now can't get it to work. I am not that computer literate and just know from the manual that it is supposed to support full duplex. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me at
