how to change speed?

I'm using madtracker, but fasttracker module.
I want to change the speed from some pages.
For example: 00-01 speed 6
01-02 speed 5
02-03 speed 8

How can i do this, because the speed I use is always for every page

You wouldn't be having this problem if you were using Tuareg. But it's really cool that you are using MOD's since they are actually more efficient than all other audio file formats.

I don't know, but I would go to a MOD web site to find out. Maybe you could email the creator of your MOD software. That's the best way to find out the truth about your software's capabilities and limitations.

As far as I know, such a thing doesn't exist. Most sound cards will only send different sounds to the rear speakers if the file is encoded with something like Dolby 5.1, but unless your card is the 5.1, even this won't work.

No Sound from audio cd ?

I had to re-install Win 95 on my P233mmx, there is a test of audio on cd-rom which worked ok. I have since reloaded Cubase 3.5, Cool Edit Pro, Fruity Loops 2.54
and QuickTime 3.2. Now when I try to play audio cd, there is no sound. If I plug a headphone into the cd-rom jack there is sound. I have done all the usual checks in Volume Control, checked the cable from cd to AWE64G s/card etc. to no avail. Any ideas please ?.

If you're not getting sound from the headphone socket on the drive and it is actually reading the disc (i.e. the access light is flickering on and off), it sounds as if the drive itself is faulty, since you should get sound out of it no matter what's happening inside the PC (always assuming you've turned the volume on the CD-ROM up).

Thanks for the response. If you plug the headphone into the cd drive you can hear audio, but nothing via the external speakers. I have checked and re-checked all the obvious, that mute etc. etc. to no avail. Any ideas please ?.

Problem with Burning MP3 to CD

I have burned a CD with many MP3 files. However, when I try to playback in an MP3 player, the player seems to think that an individual MP3 file is in fact 2, 3, or sometimes more different files, and lists them separately on a menu. Does anyone know what causes this, and more importantly, how to fix and/or prevent from happening?

Try using a different (better) mp3 encoder. You should also make sure that you are properly stripping the mp3's of any unneeded id tags (hidden identification data). Short of that, maybe your mp3 player is set-up incorrectly. For example, maybe it's set to detect silence between songs or something.

I don't do any copyright infringement, so i don't use mp3s. Besides, CD's sound better.

I use Mixman's Mixman DM2 digital music mixer to mix songs but then my mixes are limited because i cant mix full songs. for example, if i wanted to remix a version of the simpsons theme song i cant do it bcuz the WAV files are WAY TOO HUGE for my RAM memory. I've heard of programs that 'extract' parts of music from full songs to make them smaller in size n' if i can reduce the quality i can make the size smaller. i'm not sure where i can find a reliable software like that so i'm askin' fo help now. thanx fo listenin' n good luck 2 makin yall own tunes.

DVD copying

Has anyone used anyone of the various DVD copying software programs available. I have heard that they can burn out your CD RW if you use it often. Also how is the picture quality on the CDRs. I hear you can fit an entire movie on two CDRs is that correct.

I burnt a VCD the other day on my CDRW. It was from an MPG I made of about 10 minutes. It looked alright actually, but I wonder whether the transformation from 'DVD' to 'VCD' would be very impressive.

There is a program called Total recorder, that can record pretty much any sort of output in your computer. the web page is highcriteria.com, and I believe there is a demo version.

Frutiy Loops 3 Direct X Problem

when i start Fruity Loops 3, it says couldn´t find direct x, though it i installed direct x 8.0 and the programm doesn´t start. i have a terratec sound system base 1 soundcard from 1997. maybe that´s the problem? do i need a new driver or something? please help me?

Sounds like you're spinning a line. Contact the software manufacturers. If you're a legitimate customer they'll probably be able to help you out.

Most of them should handle that from a few years back. The main issue is getting the sound in and out.

There are PCMCIA cards

USB

FireWire

(did I miss one???)

USB is slow but seems to work for some people.
Firewire is very fast although I think there are some windows driver problems at the moment when using it with FW audio interfaces. Should be sorted.

PCMCIA. I know little about as I have never owned a laptop. I know there are audio cards for this slot though and to some extent, it maybe the best way to go. USB is the cheapest still...

p.s. Check the software you will want to use is compatible with the Operating System you choose. Some people make a mistake and XP or OSX (lets face it, there new...) could be one of them

Easy Cd Creator Platinum for XP

I downloaded easy cd creator platinum for xp and the xp extension, but when I try to add the patch it tells me that xp is not installed on my system. When I go to open the file it opens, but I can't access a lot of the extras that go along with it, like making mp3's etc. Can someone help? Thanks!

First of all, I don't know who posted that follow up but they are not only insulting but wrong. I had the exact same problem with my Easy CD Creator in XP and I can assure you, it's legal. Easy CD Creator seems to be highly unstable and problematic in Windows XP. In fact, I had a friend who bought a new laptop and everything was going fine until he installed Easy CD Creator and it totally crashed his computer and he had to get a replacement. Here's how to fix your problem: you have to completely uninstall Easy CD Creator and I mean completely. This includes all DLL files as well as any remnants of any associated files. Do a search on the Easy CD and delete all files connceted with it. Then if that doesn't work, there is an explanation of everything to look for on their website but you have to look under Windows 2000 to find it. Once this is done, it should allow you to install the program with no problem. On my machine I would get the same error message even though when I looked under Setting/Uninstall Programs, the progam would be would be right there! Also, make sure that after you install the XP upgrades (there are two of them, 1.the one for your specific product and, 2. the one for XP in general) that you re-run the general XP upgrade. That will help your application be more stable. And one more thing, make sure that you do not install Take Two or Direct CD which seems to cause a considerable amount of problems on its own. I hope this helps because I know how frustrating this can be. Regards, John
