how do i get music on the cd?

hi,i just got a new dell, and i have cd's butt i'm not sure how to get music,and how to get it on the cd, please help me!

Does your new Dell have a CD Writer? You will need that to be able to burn CDs, which means to write audio onto the CD. You can get music from various sources including tracks on your existing audio CDs and on the Internet. You will also need CD burning software, Demos and Shareware versions of which are available on this site.

converting cubase files from atari to pc

is there anybody out there able to answer my question? I have used cubase on my atari, but recently i bought a pc and cubase. Because i don't want to loose my creations i would like to find software that can convert all my cubase files for atari to pc!

You could save the Atari files as midi files and then load them into the PC. Alternatively, you could midi out from the atari to midi in on the PC and record the midi information (track at a time) to Cubase on the PC.

There maybe a program to convert Cubase Atari files, ask around. I haven't heard of one.

any suggestions for software that i can actually make music with.i want to select an instrument,select its pitch,length and frequency and be able to add or remove any mistakes.i want to add samples and see the song playing my notes so i know when to add remove

I am trying to mix songs that are in tracks by overlapping them so that they are continuous play. Is this possible on the computer or would?

I am using create CD but have found that merging the tracks does not remove the space between the songs which is what I am looking to do.

If you don't want to get too deeply into audio editing, you could try one of those DJ type packages. You could literally play the waves along in real time and fade across to the next track in the way you want to.

Check the file area on this site, i'm sure there is something there..

No. You'd need three complete transports, which would
be a bit stupid for a machine you're meant to be able
to carry around with you.

I don't know anything about that specific HD recorder or your computer config. Most logically you use the digital in- and outputs of your computer to establish this. Most of the time this will be SPDIF I/O's. You'll need coax cables for the connections.
What you can do is: Record on your Fostex. Then bounce this material digitally into your computer. You can then use a sequence program (with audio functions) to do the editing and mixing.

Software is easy as it's just any audio application or editor that can record from the audio input on your machine. There are a few choices, depending on your platform, in the file area on this site.

Doing it without the machine that is made to play those tapes though is a little much to expect though... ;0)
